This was a fun read - thanks, NetGalley. I loved that it was about people who love TV cuz I’m one of those people, too! I dug the settings in the UK. And I loved The Incident! Hilarious. It was a lot of fun.

Are you ready for a rom-com full of exactly what the title implies, Sweet Revenge? Then this is the book for you.
Go on a life journey with Amy Duffy, starting with her most embarrassing moment. When boss turned lover Chris does the unthinkable, Amy feels she has no choice other than to run. To hide. To start over.
Through her embarrassment, Amy went from the shark to the chum of the TV production world. Little was she aware that 2 years into hiding and avoiding even her family, she would find someone to change her complete outlook on that fateful day.
There is nothing better than a climbing out of the ashes and reclaiming life along with a little love sprinkled in. This book has it all.

Amy Duffy leaves her job and family to start afresh in London after an incredibly embarrassing incident. I enjoyed the author's new perspective, portraying the main female character as originally from the United States but ending up in London. Amy's character and her passion for her career were captivating. She is highly relatable, being accomplished yet also a bit of a 'hot mess.'
Exploring the production side of television and the associated challenges was really interesting. The connection between Amy and Jake, as well as their collaboration as love interests who respect and view each other as equals, was a highlight. As expected, the author seamlessly weaves in her hilarious wit throughout the novel. Similar to her other works, I often found myself laughing while reading Amy's thoughts. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in return for my honest review

Getting drunk and taking revenge on her ex-boyfriend/boss sounded good at the time, but only led to more heartbreak for Amy. Her career is toast and her love life is obliterated. Looking for a fresh start, Amy finds herself in London. Two years later things are finally starting to look up.
The Sweetest Revenge was such a cute read. I absolutely adored Amy. Not only does she have the same name as I do, but how could you not relate to a woman who has been scorned and humiliated by someone she loved? I loved her meet-cute with Jake. Jake had his own fair share of baggage and humiliation. He was also looking for a fresh start and ended up with an unexpected friendship with Amy.
Together, Jake and Amy made quite the pair. Their banter was entertaining and I enjoyed the ease of their relationship. No good love story would be without its fair share of ups and downs and I thoroughly enjoyed watching these two characters navigate their way to happily ever after.
If you enjoy romances about a woman scorned getting her revenge and a second chance at love, you won’t want to miss The Sweetest Revenge by Lizzy Dent.

Loved Liszt Dent’s latest novel, “The Sweetest Revenge!” I absolutely loved following Amy as she struggles to come back from viral infamy, only to be put back in proximity to the ex who caused her to become spitefully viral in the first place! The banter in this book was so good, as well as Amy’s inner monologue. I was frequently laughing at her thoughts and actions. I do wish her and Jake’s relationship was a little more developed, but I really enjoyed this book!

Seriously, where do I even begin?
The Sweetest Revenge was the PERFECT summer rom-com!
After her boyfriend breaks her heart, Amy Duffy doesn’t just mess up— she gets caught humiliating herself on camera for all of New York City to see. So, two years after leaving her family, friends, and fancy job as a TV producer behind to escape her embarrassment and run away to London, the last person she expects to see while working at a much smaller British television channel is the one person she’d do anything to avoid: her ex.
When a major business merger brings her ex to London and creates an opportunity for Amy rejoin the world of tv production, she decides it’s time to take what’s hers. Teaming up with her handsome writer neighbor (who also happens to have been humiliated on national television 🤦♀️), Amy begins a journey fueled by the promise of love, new beginnings, and sweet, sweet revenge.
Creative, fast-paced, and wildly clever, this book had me laughing out loud from beginning to end! Lizzy Dent has a talent for banter, and from her quips to her very real insecurities and fears, she gave Amy everything she needed to be an equally hilarious and relatable leading lady.
The Sweetest Revenge is officially one of my favorite romcoms of the year (and I read A LOT of romcoms 🤣), and I’ll be picking up Lizzy’s other books ASAP!

ARC Review
Story 3.5/5 ⭐️
Closed door romance
Single POV
The Sweetest Revenge follows Amy after a drunken revenge moment goes wrong leaves New York to start again in London. Two years later and still it quite getting over the embarrassment from that night Amy lives a quiet life until she meets her new neighbour Jake. When Amy gets excitement back for life a troubled part of her past returns and threatens to up ruin everything.
I enjoyed the premise of this book and the writing was good but I didn’t feel any kind of connection to the characters and their chemistry. This is a very slow burn book and I would of liked to have seen more development in their relationship.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this Arc in return for my honest review.

Amy Duffy’s NYC career implodes after a drunken video of her goes viral. It starts when her boss and secret boyfriend Chris tanks the TV project she spent years nurturing and developing. Flash forward two years and she is now working in London for CTV. She has a job she doesn’t hate but isn’t challenging. When a new job opportunity comes up she knows her experience as a development executive will give her an edge. She just needs handsome next door neighbor to Jake Jones to help her develop the best tv show idea and write the script. The bad news is that her ex Chris via a merger is going to be the interim director and will be a decision maker in for the job.
The story starts strong and clearly the shame of going viral has impacted how Amy see’s herself. Jake is the nice guy who wants to write professionally. And seeing them create a killer story is fun. I can see them as a creative team but that didn’t say romance to me. The fact it took till the last five percent of the book to share a kiss says this is general fiction with a smidge of romance. Sadly I didn’t connect well with Amy. She comes off impulsive and erratic even if she has her reasons. And if Chris is the big villain here I think he needs to fall in a bigger way.
This has a lot of fun elements but overall I wanted to care more for the heroine. I’m not sure the romance was even needed as long as they succeeded in the creative and work goals. This is my third book by Dent I remember the heroines by their jobs (faking wine expert, fortune teller/bookkeeper and now TV producer) more than anything else about the storylines. Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for the ARC and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

First Person Single POV
Slowburn - no spice
Amy flees to London after an embarrassing incident sees her leaving her job, her newly ex boyfriend and New York behind. Two year later, she finally starts to believe things are improving, especially when her new handsome new neighbour also turns out to be a great candidate to support with the new position she is applying for at work. Of course, as soon as things start to look up, the ex boyfriend returns to stir up trouble.
I really enjoyed seeing Amy and Jake working together on their ideas for a new series, there was some really fun elements and you could really feel the chemistry between them. However, I really would have liked more time with them as a couple, rather than the ending of the story being them finally having a date and a kiss.
Overall the book was well written, and I would recommend if you want a spice free book that isn't super romance heavy

Lizzy Dent is fast becoming an autobuy author for me. All 3 of her books in my opinion have being excellent. So witty and sassy and after I finished this book I just felt so happy. The sweetest revenge is the perfect summer read especially if you like the humour of fleabag and just like your books with a bit more depth than the average romance.

After a disastrous night of drunken revenge on her boss/ex-boyfriend that results in a viral video, Amy destroys her rising TV producer career and moves to London for a fresh start. There, she finds a mediocre job making trailers at a failing British TV channel. Two years later, things are starting to look up. There is an opportunity at work that might finally get her career back on track, and when she meets her handsome new neighbor/reality TV star Jake, sparks fly. After dealing with his own bout of public humiliation, and hoping to go from reality star to screenwriter, Jake agrees to work Amy to create a new television series. But then, just when Amy is about to make the comeback of her life, her ex-boyfriend is hired as her new boss. Amy will have to exact the sweetest revenge: success.
This was such a lighthearted and fun romantic comedy with an enjoyable storyline, entertaining characters, and a great setting. It was a slow burn, but the payoff was “sweet.” As Jake and Amy developed their show, I learned a lot about television production and enjoyed the behind-the-scenes of working at a TV channel. Overall, a fun and quick summer read.

Amy flees to London after a dramatic workplace romance takes a turn. Two years later, she feels her luck is finally coming back around.. until the previous workplace lover interrupts her redemption arc. But with the help of a new handsome stranger, Amy may be able to stay the course and move on.
This is my first from Lizzy Dent and it was a fun little read. I enjoyed the humor and story. I had some issues with pacing at times though. I enjoy a slow burn but usually that leaves plenty of time to build a connection. I'm not sure I felt much between the MCs other than lust and a mutual history of embarrassment. I also didn't feel very attached to Amy. Some of her behavior was really hard to relate to - and I'm not even referencing the incident with the Audi LOL But this was a quick read and fun. Perfect for a little beach read.

This was a "sweet" read that I had very fun time with. I felt like the dialogue was lacking in some places, but the story was compelling and I had a great time overall and thought the characters were very interesting.

Amy is secretly seeing her boss, Chris, but they are about to go public after he pitches her tv show that she's worked on diligently and he's about to meet her family for the first time. Instead, she finds out that he stopped her show from getting the green light AND was super late from his meeting so her mother has been calling her constantly about her location. After they fight, she goes to get a drink at a bar near the train station and ends up with more than a few and a crowd ramping her up about her story. She takes her anger out on his precious Audi, gets filmed by someone she fired, and then goes viral. So she moves to London to get away and is working on making trailers instead of pitching stories. Her life is about to get back on track with a hot new (writer) neighbor, a merger at work that could lead to her dream job, and her mantra finally starting to feel like a reality. But then Chris shows up as her possible boss and she worries that he's going to share what happened.
This was such a feel good book! Chris is a big fat jerk and pretty easy to dislike. I absolutely adored Amy and Jake together - they were funny, bounced excellent ideas off of each other, and the flirtation between them was excellent. I really liked that their flirtation was slow and drawn out as it seemed a bit more realistic than the normal "fell right in love" romance. This was a delightful quick read!

Amy is not your average cookie cutter rom com main character, and it’s my favorite thing about her. She’s messy, a teensy but unhinged when she has a good reason to be, has the mouth of a trucker, but feels so unbelievably real and relatable (a character I could see myself being friends with!) You’ll absolutely laugh out loud reading this, I sure did! This is my first Lizzy Dent read, and I can’t wait to read her other novels, and anything she writes in the future!

"Bridesmaids meets Emily in Paris —in London—in this hilarious and heartfelt story of one handsome neighbor, one no-good ex, and the summer Amy Duffy makes the comeback of her life"
I wanted to love this one. I really did. I love nothing better than a good redemption/get your life together book. But while this was good, it didn't really hit home for me. Even from the first chapter, I wasn't really rooting for Amy. While I really liked the writing, I was having a hard time wanting Amy to win after all of her not so wise decisions. I can definitely see this book becoming a favorite of so many people, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Penguin Publishing Group for this ARC.

i loved this book!! the banter was everything! it was a funny, lighthearted, as well as a romantic read that was quite enjoyable.
the FMC, amy, is a force. she is a breath of air to this genre. it is hard to find books that have a FMC in her 30s that can’t figure out how to pull her life together. it’s refreshing to see from a younger view! it shows that it’s ok to not know what you are doing and everything takes time.
jake is the divine. he is the hottest! (ben barnes is such a good fancast btw!!!) his personality is one of the best i’ve seen from a MMC. i love the introverted aspect of him. his flaws? none.
i just HAVE to add the revenge amy got on chris is empowering! i loved that she took her power back!
but with all of that i feel like amy is missing something and maybe that’s the point; her being 30 and lost. i also felt like it needed more umph. i LIVE for drama and tears and i felt like it fell short in that area.
all in all i loved the book and it definitely will be a rec! 4/5 STARS!!

I was so happy to read a new Lizzy Dent book! I loved this, and I loved how London and the character's homes and lives came alive for the reader. Recommend!
