This book was a great read. Several people each with their own version of a broken heart was the basis of the book. As the book progressed, each person’s story was revealed as they came to know each other and it made fascinating reading. This is one of those books that you won’t be able to put down until you get to the end.

I think books set in Italy is the place to be this year. But I don't blame them. I mean who doesn't love Italy. The romance the sunshine, the sea breeze, the gorgeous smells, the cobbled streets the history and all that yummy food. This book takes you right there when you have to stay where you are. Giving you a lovely storyline and great characters along the way.

I expected a simply last summer read from this book, what I didn't expect was to fall in love with each of the characters. The story arc is fierce satisfying without being cheesy in the slightest and there's a bit of escapism to boot. I felt invested the whole way through.

I fell in love with Phaedra Patrick's 'curiously charming fiction' through reading The Book Share last year. I'd never read 'feel good' books before. I've read and enjoyed all of her other books since.

The Little Italian Hotel features radio agony aunt Ginny Splinter. She's planning a romantic holiday to celebrate a special wedding anniversary, her husband's planning divorce.

Jilted Ginny impulses decides to invite four strangers to accompany her for a holiday of healing and second chances. Will a few weeks in the sun and company of strangers

I love Phaedra's writing, it tugs on my heartstrings and has me laughing and crying, and smiling tough the tears.

Ginny's character is brilliantly portrayed, the expert agony aunt who tries to help everyone else while ignoring own situation. The four strangers carry a variety of emotional baggage and the Italian experience is vividly captured.

To some extent I missed the rainy Northern Englishness of Phaedra's other books, but was quickly won over and was laughing and crying along. There are some unexpected twists, and it might not end happily ever after for everyone.

This would make a great sunny holiday read. It didn’t tickle my heart strings to quite the same extent as most of Phaedra’s other books but it was still a very entertaining journey.

Thanks to Netgalley and HQ

I love this story of travelling to Italy to help mend token hearts. An eclectic group of people who would normally have nothing in common find happiness and healing in a faded but wonderful hotel. I enjoyed the warmth of this book and how the simple things in life can turn out to be the best things.
