Although the book is focused on women's career it can be well applied to any gender. The advice in the book seem to be simple and straightforward with many good professional growth steps. There are plenty of interesting stories about career choices, dealing with difficult situations, leading people and self, becoming resilient and building self confidence. At the end of the book there is a good career development toolkit as well as reflection points and journal notes questions.

New year, new you? I took my time reading this book and did not regret it. It’s definitely a book filled with knowledge and purpose. The book and content are bite-sized but this is a book that you can re-read and come back to over and over again depending on the situation you are facing in life. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

I recently read How To Succeed In Career Transitions by Susan Doering and found it to be an insightful and helpful guide. In today's rapidly changing job market, career transitions are becoming increasingly common. This book provides practical advice and strategies for navigating these transitions and achieving success in a new field. I appreciated the author's depth of knowledge on the subject and the clear, actionable steps she outlined for making a successful career transition.

Thank you to #NetGalley and Literally PR for the e-ARC in exchange for a review.

After a year helping out on the farm, I decided to go back to work, when this book popped up on my Net Galley dashboard it felt like a perfect fit.

There is nothing surprising or overly innovative in this book, and as it is focused on an international audience it can at time be pretty broad in scope. However, the breadth of the information provided, and the form of the information makes for a very handy resource.

Doering combines her own teaching materials as well as case studies and journal prompts to allow the reader to tailor the book to their needs and situation. The journal prompts and advise is realistic without being to “5 Easy Steps to…” Instead Doering shows that some elements will be harder than others and that timelines maybe short of long depending on the situation and wants of the reader. This was refreshing.

Overall, this helped me to make a decision on a job that I accepted, taking a long approach it seems like a good step toward a career after a year off.
