I LOVE when children's books have a nice meaningful message to them. The Electric 66 has that on top of being cute and entertaining. My 3 and 5 year old boys really enjoyed this one and requested it 3 nights in a row! (This is unusual for bedtime books.) Ellie the electric bug has inherited a failing gas station. She notices her highway has a lot of possible *different* customers and uses her entrepreneurial mind to try and save the station.

This book would be great for new readers. The illustrations were also very eye-catching and adorable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an e-copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The Electric 66 is a charming and uplifting children's book that follows Ellie, an electric bug, on her quest to save her family's failing Route 66 gas station in the town of Stingman. Ellie discovers that the route has a new influx of travelers - electric car owners! With her passion for electric cars and her dedication to her family, Ellie just might be able to save the family business and bring new life to the historic highway.

This heartwarming picture book is a valuable tool for parents and teachers who want to inspire young readers to explore the world of electric cars and the importance of family and community. It is a must-read for any child interested in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The Electric 66 by Adam K. White is an adorable story about a lightning bug named Ellie trying to save her dying family business on old Route 66. On accident she discovers a magical ability to harness the power of the sun into electricity ultimately saving her town and her business. I enjoyed this story, but found quite a few of the emotional descriptions overly dramatic the use of yelled when it would be inappropriate for yelling in the situation. I also would have enjoyed a small section on what solar power is and a brief description of how it works in reality. Over all this story is an adorable jumping off point for learning about and discussing sustainable energy solutions.

Thank you to NetGalley along with the publisher for the eARC! A cute story about Route 66 and cars changing in todays times (electric cars). The bugs find a way to charge the car and add some pizzazz to Route 66! A fun read for bug lovers!

This reminded me of certain Pixar movie but instead of cars, its bugs. fireflies, to be exact. it's a nice story to stimulate imagination and problem solving.

Adorable book with the cutest illustrations! This book has a great message behind it. A little of the old history of Route 66 and a look into the near future with gas cars being banned and electric cars being the future. We all need to acclimate, and if this mighty little town could do it then so can we.
