I think with a bit more editing, this could be a better book. This was a little hard for me to get into. This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author, but I am willing to give her another chance with the next book in this series.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book! The title and this beautiful cover drew me in and i was excited to read this book! I will be recommending this book to others for readers advisory.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Amber and Mateo. Amber is starting an internship at Mateo’s family business. Mateo is fixing to the position of CEO. They start dating. They each have troubles but together they work them out and fall in love.
This was a DNF for me. Unfortunately, the writing seemed super odd, especially repeating the same scenes from both POVs.
Enjoyed this slow burn office romance. It is Matheo and Amber's story.Loved their meet cute.
Matheo is the CEO of the company where Amber is an intern. They are instantly attracted to each other.
They end up becoming friends and also give into their attraction.
Matheo finds out a long buried secret which shocks him and Amber is there for through it all.
A sweet forbidden office romance with humour, heat, emotions and family secrets.
The story continues in the second book Office affair
This book is not for me.
DNF
**************************I received an ARC for my honest opinion from NetGalley for my honest opinion. ********************
Overall good book but I felt it was missing something and felt rushed.... A boss/ employee romance things get a bit hot in the office...
This was an easy read and I really enjoyed it. I read it all in one sitting because it grabbed my attention really easily.
Matheo returns home to take over the family business as his father is retiring. Before he retires, he hires Amber as an intern. Matheo thinks that she is a spy for his father. Amber and Matheo do not realize that she is the one that saved him as child until Matheo discovers the same friendship bracelet that he has in Amber's pocketbook. He now has the power to help save her and her family.
A good book. Some plot lines do not make sense. The book is told from dual point of view and at times the story needs to be re-read as it did not make sense.
A short steamy read. However characters lacked any real depth and the story line was all over the place. Found it really hard to get into this book as the writing was all over the place. Only really finished it because it was such a short book
3.5 stars rounded up. Zelene Heath’s Office Heat is a cute romance. I needed something lighter after a few heavy reads, and this book delivered. I enjoyed it.
Amber is a college student who was adopted by a couple after having lived in foster care. Her adoptive father is ill so she needs to get money to help pay his medical bills. She gets an internship at TotaBuyzz, where she literally collides with the next CEO Matheo and spills coffee on him.
Matheo has felt neglected by his father all of his life. He learns a huge family secret in the course of the book that rocks his world.
There is a lot of family drama in the book, but I enjoyed the supportive friendship between Amber and her friend Michelle. The ending felt a little rushed (and left some questions, which will likely be answered in the next book in the series), but again, I enjoyed the book.
Thanks to the author and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Office Heat by Zelene Heath
A quick easy read that had an interesting storyline, I was hoping for a bit more depth to the characters but overall the chemistry between Matheo and Amber was enough to keep the reader entertained and enjoy a little escapism read. A good quick read after a long day. Thank you for letting me read and give my opinion.
You’ll really feel the heat with this one. I love a good sexy office romance. It might not stimulate your mind, but it might other places!
The writing was awkward and kind of terrible, which made the storyline seem really stilted and strange. I typically enjoy a story from a shifting POV, but the author practically rewinding the scene to be told from the other's POV didn't add anything interesting to the story.
With an editor and some rewrites, this could've been a much better book. As it is, don't consider my 1.5 stars a recommendation.
This was a good story. I wish it would have delved deeper into the characters and had more details. I felt it just skimmed the service of some parts that could have given more insight.
Matheo and Amber was sweet, they meet when long time ago as kid now meet again in work place. The story including family drama and secret, they joirney continue in book 2 Office Affair.
Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.
