The premise of this book is completely on point. A story of friendship bonds that grow to family level strength and tie these ladies together. These are the girlfriends that all women desire. Women who show up and shout out on behalf of their friends that have become the family they need. The characters are so very real. However, I did have an issue with the writing of the book. It was often difficult to know who was speaking and the entire story is pure dialogue without identifiers. Have you ever walked into a restaurant or gathering where a group of women are sitting together, obviously are close friends and all are talking at once and you are expected to plop down and figure out who did what, said what and follow along? It was basically like that. I actually started and stopped this book several times because of the lack of guidance to direct who was speaking to whom. I finally sat down and just made myself read through the entire book which only took about an hour, but I only knew which character was speaking about half the time. Great premise, decent plot just needs a lot of editing and polishing. I think this has the potential to be a really fun book.

I must be the only one that was not a fan of this book.
I didn't expect it to be like this. It may not be my type of book but according to other reviews it is very well liked so give it a try.
I found this story to be funny and interesting. It was great to see friendships between women that were real. It made it easy to see this women as friends in real life.
I did however struggle with this story at times. There were issues with punctuation. This made keeping the dialogue straight between all of the different characters straight, and also made it hard to tell who was narrating.

I did enjoy the characters and the main plot of the book, but with the errors it took me longer to read this book than it should have. I know that this was an advanced reader copy so I am sure that the final publication will fix all the errors that made it confusing.
Story wise I would recommend this book. My 3 star rating is based on the story and not on the copy of the book that I received with the errors.

thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of girl f?ck him. this was a good book about women empowerment and not relying on the normal romance story.
A powerful and empowering novel that had me hooked from the very first page. CrisAnn Smith's writing is bold, unapologetic, and relatable, and her characters are complex and unforgettable. The struggles of Reece, Olivia, Ava, Mia, and CJ are all too familiar, and their journeys towards self-realization and empowerment are inspiring. This book is a must-read for any woman who is searching for love, healing, and her own power.
In "Girl, F?CK Him," CrisAnn Smith introduces readers to five women in Dallas, Texas, who are all searching for romantic love but end up discovering the power within themselves. This fast-paced novel defies stereotypes and explores what it means to be an independent woman in the 21st century. Through the struggles of these strong and high-spirited women, readers are taken on a journey of self-realization, healing, and empowerment.
The story was interesting and funny. It was lovely to see strong friendships between women and the characters were very real. I could totally see this friend group existing in real life.
The punctuation was off at times. Much of the dialogue didn’t have dialogue tags or quotation marks. With so many characters, it got confusing as to who was speaking or even if someone was speaking at all. The point of view of who was narrating also got confusing. The chapter would be titled one character's name, then have a completely different character narrate. Or it would switch up. These things really pull you out of the book.
The characters and plot of Girl, F?CK Him were fun to read, but the errors pulled you out of the story. If you can handle the errors and don’t mind them, then give this book a try.
This is a “did not finish” for me. The dialogue gets lost between characters especially during the texting conversations. I got about 24% in and there was just nothing definitive happening. Too many tiny things and side stories happening between unmemorable characters. I really did try to get into this book. The only way to submit my review is to give the book 1 star. Again, I did not finish so therefore any rating shouldn’t be considered.
