I honestly never know how to 'rate' a non fiction book or what to even say about them.
I think this book was entertaining and I learned a lot about acting and the industry.
A valuable resource for actors at any stage of their career. Norman B Schwartz's new approach to acting techniques is refreshing and practical, and his insights into the demands of the marketplace are invaluable. I appreciate that he expands on previous schools of training while also providing new techniques that are specific to today's world of film, television, and commercials. This book is a great investment in your career, and I highly recommend it to any actor looking to succeed in the industry.
In ACTing Now, Norman B Schwartz proposes a new approach to the old techniques of acting that better prepares actors for the demands of today's marketplace. By expanding on previous schools of training, Schwartz offers a method that helps actors get the job and hold onto it on-set in the real and demanding world of film, television, and commercials. Whether you're a working actor or just starting out, ACTing Now offers valuable insights and techniques to take your craft to the next level.
This is a good book for beginning actors, but there’s not really anything new here for those of us who have been studying acting for an extensive period of time. I also thought the biographical aspect was boring. I think most people who pick up this book would do it to learn technique, not to learn about the teachers themselves.
