I didn’t love this one. The writing was good however I’m not a massive fan of friends to lovers, I would be willing to try the authors work further but for this one. It just wasn’t for me. 2 stars

This entire book could've been avoided if they'd had one honest conversation with each other. It's an easy read, the setting is nice, and the characters are very cute and lovable, but the drama was just so unnecessary. The way Stella reacted to Luka's confession was over the top, even taking her baggage into account, and it bothered me a bit that he was basically portrayed as a perfect specimen of a man with absolutely nothing wrong with him, while she was dealing with a lot of things.
The epilogue was really cute, and I'm curious about the rest of the books, but this one was just okay for me.

kay but why haven’t I picked up this book sooner?! This was unbelievably wholesome and adorable and I need my own Lukka right this instant 😭
I am a sucker for a friends to lovers romance and this one has definitely won as my favourite winter novel for this year.
Lukka and Stella have been friends for 10 years and are inseparable but Stella has got herself in a bit of a pickle when she lied on a competition application that she owned her Christmas tree farm with her non existent boyfriend so during the final round of interviews, she needs Lukka to pretend to be her boyfriend to keep up the ruse. But what if they didn’t pretend? After a decade of friendship, maybe they are ready for something more?
I now NEED to get my hands on the rest of B.K Borison’s books because I need to read more books with these vibes. I was honestly giggling and grinning like crazy while reading this, I can definitely see the reason for the hype! 🥰

Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Blurb
A pasture of dead trees. A hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons. And shipments that have mysteriously gone missing. Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.
In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, Stella enters a contest with Instagram-famous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, Stella might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on her application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only…there is no boyfriend.
Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just stopped by for some hot chocolate and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process. But fake dating his best friend might be the best Christmas present he’s ever received.
My Opinion
Lovelight Farms was such a sweet read. Stella is determined to save her Christmas Tree Farm, even if it means lying about having a boyfriend. Her best friend Luka is willing to help her out – can they convince everyone that they are actually dating? Before I had even finished reading this, I went and found the next book in the series as I was not ready to leave this delightful place.
Rating 4/5

"All my smiles have always belonged to him. A big chunk of my heart too. All my best memories."
This years festive buddy read with @readingwithelise was Lovelight farms!
We both liked this book but didn't Love
it.
The epilogue was so heartwarming to read though and one of my favourite chapters
I read this book for the vibes, not so much the plot. Not much really happened in the book and it put me in a little bit of slump because it took me a while to finish, but I love the cosy vibes and banter between the characters
Luka is a Christmas tree green flag, and Stella is so relatable, she's pretty much me. The fear of being left, the fear of letting people in and them not wanting to stick around, how scary it is to try and trust people when they say they'll stay, and especially the grey grief days when the world feels too heavy to hold up on your own. So many relatable paragraphs and things she said
"I know you can take care of yourself...but let me hold your hand while you do it."
Friends to lovers is one of my favourite tropes and it being set on a Christmas tree farm makes it magical. The kittens was the cutest part of the book, especially the reindeer names "* Layla is such a funny character and I'm hoping we get to learn more about her story in the next few books. Also I'm intrigued by Beckett and Caleb and hoping they get their owr happily ever after too
I'm so glad I waited until the end of the year to read this as it's a cosy festive book made for December. One day I want to find a real life version of Stella's enchanting Christmas tree farm and visit. I feel like there's nowhere better you could spend Christmas

Wholesome holiday romance that I enjoyed. Overall a very easy read and enjoyed it. At times there was A LOT going on, but overall I enjoyed it,

What an absolute delight of a book for the Christmas period!! I loved the relationship dynamic, the setting was just perfection and the writing style was so fun and easy to read. BK might just be my new favourite cosy romance author!! I’m so excited for her next release

This was a good romance book but I personally felt it had the potential to be more. The main character was naive which irritated me but there was so many good cozy elements to this story.

I have been waiting to read this book for half a year now as I wanted to read it during the Christmas season, so my expectations had built up quite high in my anticipation, especially as I had only heard good things, and this was true! I really loved the story and I can't wait to continue reading about the farm and watching everyone else fall in love.

One of my most pleasant surprises in a while!
As a self designated hater of all things holidays *and* of friends-to-lovers as a trope, I wasn't quite sure if this'd live up to the hype for me, but I've never been happier to be proven wrong. The small town, tightknit community feel of this was perfect for anyone daydreaming of Stars Hollow, with a loveable cast to balance out our protagonists. The tension? The banter? The undeniability of the main characters being meant to be together, and working as well as a couple as they did as best friends? Palpable, sizzling and delightful.
Such a quick treat that you won't want to put down! I enjoyed it so much so that I went to buy one of the companion novels before I even got to the halfway mark ...

Stella enters a competition on Instagram to get some much needed attention for her Christmas tree farm; things aren’t going well and the farms finances are struggling, however, she put one little lie on her application, that she owns the farm with her boyfriend. Problem being, she doesn’t have a boyfriend. She does have the most amazing best friend she is not-so-secretly in love with; Luka, would it ruin their friendship to pretend to date for a week though? & how will it impact others in town and Luka’s family?
This fake-dating festive romance is just what everybody needs at Christmas. It’s a bit steamy but not distractingly so, and the characters are all super lovable. It also just meant that Christmas Tree Farm by Taylor Swift was playing in my head the entire time I read it 😍

I loved this book. It was so cosy, and just perfect for Christmas. I actually cannot rave enough about this book. I've recommended it to all of my friends, and they all love it as equally as I do!
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an early release copy.

I adored this book. It’s a perfect book to kick off the colder months. It’ll fill you with warmth and joy. I can’t wait to see what’s next

Very cute book which is perfect for the winter time. Loved the setting and the characters and I will definitely read the rest of the series.

Lovelight Farms is the first instalment of B.K Borison’s Lovelight series. I’m incredibly late to the party with this series but I’m so glad I’m finally here because I’m now hooked. A friends to lovers fake dating story set at Christmas is my absolute idea of heaven so it was no surprise when I absolutely devoured this book and fell totally in love with the characters and setting.
B.K Borison has an engaging writing style which makes you feel like you’ve dropped right into the small-town setting. The plot was well paced and humour was well placed throughout.
Stella was a fantastically written female protagonist and Luka was a totally swoon-worthy male romantic interest although I am furious at Stella for not realising it sooner. Theirs is totally an ‘everyone can see it apart from them’ love story which I will admit I am a sucker for. Their chemistry was just off the charts and the spicy scenes were some of my favourite that I’ve read in romance books.
The small-town setting felt really cosy and this makes it perfect for fans of Gilmore Girls. In the other town residents we have some fantastic supporting characters who were all fantastically written and I nearly fell in love with Beckett as much as I did Luka so I’m excited to read the next book which focuses more on him.
Lovelight Farm is a gorgeous wholesome romance read which is perfect for getting you in the festive spirit. It is definitely one I’m going to return to every winter and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the rest of the series.

I have posted my review on my blog www.yourschloe.co.uk and the post is linked.

Christmas in… October? 🎄
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Book: Lovelight Farms
Author: B.K. Borison
What is your favourite Christmas romance? 🎄
This was absolutely ADORABLE. I received this as an ARC and it had me longing for Christmas. The setting was so perfect and all of the talk of decorations and christmas trees had me wanting to drink hot chocolate and looking out the window for snow. The romance was so adorable, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.
If you want a book that feels like a warm hug this christmas; this is the one for you.
Read if you love:
💙 Fake dating
💙 Friends to lovers
💙 Holiday romance
💙 Great side characters

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

This was such a frustrating book. Parts of it were solidly 5-star, and parts of it felt like bits from a manuscript that was abandoned halfway through.
It's nice and fluffy, which makes it perfect as a Christmas romance, but there's just not an awful lot of substance to it.

I loved that he was so clearly in love with her but I was dissatisfied with their love story required speed bump. Stella’s emotional / relationship issues just weren’t prevalent enough within the story for it to be a thing and I don’t think Luka could’ve been any less clear.
They were definitely cute together and you could spot the set up for book 2 immediately
The small town stereotype was there in a muted fashion as was a dominant parental figure but there seemed to be lots of mini storylines that were mentioned but left of page when it came to backstory or resolution.
I’m torn between really loving the chemistry of these friends to lovers fake romance but frustrated with some elements feeling a little half formed

This was such a cute and wholesome read! It was as if a warm fuzzy feeling has been put directly into a book and I loved it.
Lala and Luka have my heart. Friends to lovers is my thing and this book did not disappoint.
The writing was beautiful and the characters were relatable and comedic and the side characters added so much love to the story as well.
While I wished some things like Evelyn’s storyline could have been more fleshed out , the pacing itself was great and the spice was nice and light hearted which went well with the themes and writing of the book itself.
Yes this could technically be described as a Christmas book because it’s based on a Christmas tree farm and it definitively has the wholesome Christmas vibes - this is still an all year round book because the Christmas stuff itself isn’t overwhelming.
Now I’m going to read everything this author has written.
Beautiful book.
