What I loved about this book is the autumn and winter setting on a farm. Dream! Also, so cosy! I felt all the cosy autumn and winter vibes whilst reading this, well in the middle of summer…but is the feeling that counts, right?
So, this story is friends to lovers trope, and whilst it's not my favourite, I enjoy books featuring it. In this story, we follow Stella, who owns a Christmas Tree Farm with two of her best friends/co-workers. However, the farm is struggling financially, so Stella decides to apply for this online influencer competition, in which, if selected, a farm can win quite a lot of money. That’s not the last of Stella’s worries though. She also puts on the application form that she owns this farm with her boyfriend, to make it look more romantic. Yet, yes you guessed it! Stella doesn’t have a boyfriend, but what she has is her best friend Luke… In her mind Luke could pretend to be her boyfriend just for a few weeks until the competition is over…but as we know it, sometimes things like that can be a slippery slope…
I read this book in one sitting! One sitting! That’s how cosy and easy to read it was. I loved B.K. Borison’s writing, her scene setting and descriptions of characters and cosy autumn/winter on the farm. Now I want to have my own Lovelight Farm.
I enjoyed Luke’s character. He is such an excellent friend, but also so caring and kind. Stella, however, did drive me nuts sometimes (a few times), especially when it was so obvious that she and Luke are more than friends. Side characters are also just my cup of hot chocolate (a.k.a Beckett), and I can’t wait to read his book! This book also has quite a few emotional and quite a spicy scenes, which were top-notch.
The only thing that frustrated me with this book was how obvious was to everyone that the two main characters have feelings for each other, but both main characters were too naïve to figure that out. Other than that, I adored and devoured this cosy and sweet romance.
Overall: If you love cosy romances, romantic autumn and winter setting, beautiful writing, and a book that you can devour in no time, then Lovelight Farms is the book for you! I adored it and can’t wait to read book two! Oh, and now B.K. Borison is one of my favourite authors, just FYI.

Absolutely adored this book, it was so good. The writing is excellent, great characters and a wonderful community feel, The story is well written and so engaging , full of some of my favourite tropes, fake dating and friends to lovers, with some great humour. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series, B K Borison is a must read for me now.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you love friends to lovers and fake dating then this book will be perfect for you. I absolutely loved everything about it!
Imagine the setting - a Christmas tree farm in winter. Only things aren't doing too good and our heroine Stella, decides to enter a competition to maybe win some money and get free publicity at the same time. She thinks (in a moment of insanity) that running it with a boyfriend sounds more romantic - and so she lies on her application. Luckily for her, best friend Luka is back home for a while and would be the perfect fake boyfriend...
This was truly a warm cup of chocolate in a book. All the characters are so sweet, you just want the best for all of them, even the side characters are so well written (and I am SO excited for Beckett's book). There were funny moments, a few spicy moments, and some really emotional ones. Luka is one of the kindest, swooniest male leads I've read in a while, he truly thinks the world of Stella and just wants the best for her. Stella has been burnt in the past and is a bit more wary of love and how it might damage their relationship, but Luka doesn't give up on her.
Highly recommended to anyone who likes romances, I cannot wait to read more in the Lovelight series!
Many thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an ARC! ❤️

Stella has to save her Christmas Tree Farm. The numbers have been bad for a little too long and their suppliers keep messing up. Luckily, she has the chance to be part of a contest held by a travel influencer to win a big feature on the farm and a big prize fund. Problem is: on the application Stella claimed to be running the farm with her boyfriend. There is no boyfriend. There is only Luka, her best friend for ten years, whom she's been in love with since they met, and her only way out of this mess is to ask him to be her fake boyfriend.
I'm a sucker for fake dating! It's so fun! This was a very cute and cozy read and I enjoyed my time. The writing had a few small hickups here and there that threw me off but all in all I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, lighthearted holiday romance. The atmosphere created absolutely matched with how the farm was described in the book: inviting, cozy, warm and joyful.

Luka and Stella have been best friends for 10 years. She is having trouble at her Christmas Tree farm and decides a fake boyfriend will be the ideal addition to her application for a social media competition. She’s nervous about asking Luka, but he’s the ideal person. Everyone is so happy when they tell them they are together and Stella feels guilty, but she is also scared that Luka might see how she really feels. It turns out she’s not the only one who has been hiding their feelings. I really liked the small town feel and loved Stella’s work partners and can’t wait to read their stories.

Wow. Wow. Wow. This book made me wish it was Christmas in June. It was perfect. I loved the characters. The tropes were immaculate. Fake dating, friends to lovers, small town!!!!! I definitely want to read the rest of the books in this series now!

So everyone I follow is absolutely obsessed with this book and as a result I was extremely excited to get into this one. Unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment for me.
This is the first book in the Lovelight Farms series, a contemporary romance series set in the fictional small town of Inglewild. Stella is struggling to make ends meet at her Christmas tree farm so she decides to enter a competition run by a famous influencer to get exposure for the farm and to hopefully win the £100,000 cash prize. The catch? Stella put down on her application that she has a boyfriend to make the farm seem more “romantic”. Enter Luka, her best friend of nine years who she has been hopelessly in love with. He agrees to be her fake boyfriend for the duration of the influencer’s stay but is this a chance for Stella to make peace with her feelings or is it going to escalate things between her and Luka?
Let’s start with what I liked. The writing style was super easy to read and the author excelled at setting the scene and creating a wintery/holiday atmosphere. I loved the farm and small town setting, you all know how much I love my small town romances! Don’t read this book if you’re hungry because the food sounded incredible and was regularly mentioned. It seems I like to torture myself with the thought of fresh ravioli when all of the shops are shut and there is 30p to my name. Also the spicy scenes were impeccable.
What made this only a three star? One word: Stella. My GOD did she INFURIATE me. It was obvious from the start that Luka was in love with her, she even commented on and acknowledged looks that he gave her but she just “couldn’t see it”. It was just constant “awh shucks” from her and she was just too NICE. I’m all for a cinnamon roll main character but when their only personality trait is their niceness it starts to get boring. There was also the fact that not much actually happens throughout most of the book and the main premise doesn’t even happen until 70% in.
I will still recommend this because I had a good time and I genuinely think a lot of people will enjoy this. If you want a really cute holiday romance and you like the friends to lovers trope definitely pick this one up! I’m really excited to read the next instalment in the series!
Thank you for my ARC from NetGalley and Pan Macmillan! Release date: 8th June 2023

Oh wow. This is something else. For the first half, I was like - this is just so stinking cute. But then it took a very spicy turn! Still managing to be too cute at the same time. What a swoony, semi festive romance. I couldn’t get enough of it and I cannot wait to read the others in the series.
All the good things:
-small town romance
-friends to lovers
-fake dating
-found family
I know I’ll be recommending this for a while to come, and I’m already manifesting Afterlight special editions of the series 🥰

Stella asks Luka to fake date her in an attempt to win a competition with an influencer and save her Christmas tree farm. After losing her mum, she is afraid to let anyone in, so will she give Luka a chance for real?
A great setting, looking forward to the next book in this series.

This gives me Xmas vibes so I’ll be reading it more fully at Christmas. I did start it and I enjoyed the writing style. It was easy to follow and get into. And it’s the first by this author I’ve picked up.

Lovelight Farms is a feel-good Christmas romance set in a small country town, with cute cottages and on a Christmas tree farm. The Christmas Tree farm is such a charming setting, with the rows of trees, the twinkling lights, decorations, and a bake house full of holiday treats, it the perfect winter wonderland! I read other comments saying this book is like a warm hug and I totally agree, there are so many sweet and wholesome moments that make you smile. I loved the friendship and chemistry between the main characters Stella and Luka, they have such a sweet and loving friendship that you can't help hoping they'll eventually end up together. Great set of supporting characters too, from the townsfolk and their betting pool, to Lukas Mum, The praised baker Layla and the handsome farm manager Beckett. Each add to the sorry in special little ways. Lovelight Farms has easily become my new favourite holiday read and I very much look forward to the more in the series!

Luka and Stella were one of the sweetest friends to lovers I have read in a long time. This would be such a great book to read during the holidays, curled up under a blanket with a mug of hot chocolate.

This is such a cute book with a bit of Spice hitting there. We are following Luka on a fake dating journey as Stella is trying to save the farm shop, which is in the red, and she asks her best friend for help when she says she owns the farm with her boyfriend; however, she doesn't have a boyfriend and the influencer whom helps to promote and gives cash to help business loves a romance story so she asked to fake date Luca for the premise of this.
Throughout the book, we see the progressive relationship between Luca and Stella and how their fake day goes and turns into a real-life Love Story.
I enjoyed getting to know the side characters, such as Layla and her to-go attitude; she is so funny and a fantastic baker; she the brilliant. Beckett is out there and a bit of a solitary person but has a good heart.
This book has a lot of descriptive scenes in it and plays by-plays which help with the atmospheric moods created throughout. This book is the ultimate hug.

A cheesy, romantic fake dating romantic comedy. Absolutely loved this book and finished it within 2 days. Definitely perfect for those who love a fake dating/ friends to lovers romance.

I'm a bit late with this review and read the book this past week in the summer heat! No matter though because the excellent writing a plot transported right to Christmas in an instant! Lovelight farm is a truly delightful book.

Thanks so much to Pan MacMillan, NetGalley and B.K. Borison for the eARC. All opinions expressed are my own!
Firstly, the writing style is excellent, Borison creates an immersive small town with nosy residents and lovely sense of community. The story is well written and the comedic moments were downright hilarious. The characters are well developed and super loveable. I loved the found family aspect, the commitment and care from Stella as she tries to solve her financial troubles as well as the devotion and love from Luka as they navigate their new relationship. The book has the fan favourite tropes - friends to lovers, fake dating, obsessed hero, all wrapped up in a sweet story.
However, as much as I loved the writing style, the plot just couldn’t keep me engaged, the middle felt slow paced and really started to pick up in the last 15% and I just really struggled to engage with the characters. I absolutely adored the writing and will be reading the entire series, but this couple couldn’t keep me hooked long enough.

Lovelight Farms by BK Borison is pure festive rom com perfection. It might be blazing sunshine outside but I was totally transported to Lovelight Farm’s wintery festive haven and I am so here for it!
Lovelight Farms is the first in a series of three books that are now being published by Pan Macmillan. This first book centres around Stella, the owner of Lovelight Farms whilst the subsequent ones focus on her coworkers (and found family members) Beckett and Laya respectively, and I’m saying it now I CANNOT wait to read their stories too.
Stella’s Christmas tree farm is in a financial pickle and has been having a run of seemingly bad luck. She enters a competition run by a prolific social media influencer in the hope of giving the farm the boost it needs. The only catch, Stella may have put that she owns the farm with her boyfriend, which she doesn’t have. Enter Luka, her absolute best friend, and some glorious fake dating.
There is so very much to love about this book and I could gush about it for so long but I’m going to go with a roundup of all the reasons you should read it. Here we go, you have:
🎄a great FMC in Stella who you can’t help but feel and root for
🚜 a swoon worthy MMC in Luka who is so deeply caring of our FMC and an all round good guy, oh and he’s handsome to boot
🎄 friends to lovers, via fake dating, and the most delicious, tension filled slow burn
🚜 so much mutual pining, but without either being aware, and yet everyone else knows!
🎄a glorious small town setting, with a phone tree!
🚜 a community who really cares for its people, I especially loved Dane, Stella’s father figure and the way the town rallied round the farm
🎄the most glorious found family amongst Stella, Luka, Beckett and Laya, but also within Stella’s wider position in town
🚜 incredible side characters who were so well developed in their own right, two of whom will get their own stories YES!
🎄the relationship Stella has with her brother Charlie was great and I loved what we saw of her step mum Elle
🚜 only a minor third act break that leads to heartfelt communication between our MCs
🎄 and there’s kittens!!!
I absolutely adored this book and it’s characters and have no doubt BK Borison will become an autobuy author for me.

**I was provided with an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**
I’m late to the party but you bet I am now well and truly on the Lovelight bandwagon!!
Lovelight Farms was an absolutely delightful book.
This is a friends to lovers romance where two best friends pretend to be a couple for a competition in order to save a Christmas tree farm. Now friends to lovers is a trope that can be a hit or miss for me but the overall vibe of this book sounded like a fun time and I’m so glad that I gave it a chance because this was definitely a top tier friends to lovers story – I loved Stella and Luka so much!!
Plus the additional fake dating aspect, the small town setting and found family between the main group of friends all came together so well!
Not only does Borison’s writing easily draw you into the story and these characters’ lives but also the setting. I would move to Inglewild in a heartbeat, it seems like such a wonderful, cosy and homely place, nosy townsfolk aside. I loved that for such a short story you get to not only experience a heart-warming romance blossom between two people who love each other but for it to also happen in a town that is so lived in. Also I’d honestly say this is one of few books where I’ve felt the pacing and the overall length was perfect. It wasn’t too long as to drag the story out and not too short either as to feel like everything was too sudden.
I loved all of the characters. Stella pretty much has the whole town as a support network but the smaller more tight knit group of Beckett, Layla and of course Luka was so wholesome too. How everything played out had a sense of plausibility to it when taking into account the backstories that we are told over the course of the book and the dynamics between the characters. I really loved how threaded through everything was this message of allowing yourself to rely on those around you who care for you, to allow yourself to lean on the shoulders they put out for you.
Stella herself was a great character, somewhat relatable somewhat annoying in how much she second guesses everything but Borison wove her story together beautifully. It’s one packed full of emotion and will surely touch your heart too.
Coming backs to the romance side of things though, Stella and Luka were so perfect together. You can expect great banter alongside beautifully tender moments and a dash of spice but also those classic, messy moments that will have you facepalming. For the most part it’s that frustration that these two idiots are so obviously in love with each other to the point the whole town ships them but they just want to keep playing out their little game.
Anyways everything about this book had me smiling and feeling like that heart face emoji and I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the books in the series!
Final Rating - 4.25/5 Stars

Even though I read this book in the summer, I enjoyed every minute of it. I was squealing and kicking my feet in the air.

I love a fake dating plot but this was hampered for me by the fact that the heroine was so completely to ignore all evidence that the hero was nuts about her and to sabotage the potential relationship at every turn.
But maybe we're just in an era of completely oblivious romance heroines. Or at least I've hit a run of them. So, your mileage on this may vary depending on your tolerance for this very specific brand of Too Stupid to Live heroine. This also has a side of secret keeping for Reasons and an awful dad subplot that needed fleshing out a bit more so that you really understood why the heroine was so convinced that everyone she loves always leaves her/you can't risk getting close to anyone. And there would have been space to do that if we hadn't had the slightly half-baked sabotage subplot. Anyway, it's not completely awful - it has it's good moments and the Christmas tree farm setting is adorable. Just not really my sort of heroine!
