Lovelight Farms is book number one in the Lovelight series and i am so glad that there are more to come!
I absolutely love a romantic comedy, it’s my favourite genre and throw into the mix a fake dating trope and i am in book heaven!!
Stella enters a competition to win £100,000 and save her Christmas Tree farm from financial ruin. Add into that her best friend Luke and some fake dating and you have a wonderful story.
This was a wonderful, slow burn, Christmassy, romantic, fun story with a sprinkling of spiciness and i absolutely loved it……..

Thank you again for this ARC by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
In this Christmas themed friends to lovers and moderately spicy romance, Stella is the owner of a Christmas tree farm and has been in love with her best friend Luka for a decade - never daring to do anything about it because after all, if you love people..you run the risk to lose them. But after stating in a social media contest entry that she runs the farm with her boyfriend, Stella has no choice but to ask Luka to pretend date her while the contest is running…
This was full of delicious tension, longing and adorable friendship. You could tell, quite clearly, that both friends loved each other but were either too stubborn or too afraid to see that it was mutual. The tension and spice between the two characters was so good, it made me smile and giggle. Luka is the best friend and lover everyone dreams of and honestly, I know the preference on IG is for enemies to lovers but do not sleep on Luka he is funny, charismatic, the right amount of grumpy and a little nerdy.
I loved where the story went and how it showed the different ways in which family, friendship and love all mingle with each other and can become occasionally messy.
The only reason I would say this is between a 4 and a 5 stars is that, for one, it is nicer to read this in the winter I think, but also towards the end the story may stretch a little bit slower. I also found one reveal to be slightly predictable, but honestly, you read this book for the romance more than anything else, so I don’t think most fans of the genre will complain.
And look, if you want to know how honest I am about loving this, I bought the paperback copy when I was only 20% in, and I don’t usually do that, even for books I’m loving because I tend to wait until I finish it to buy it in paperback.
Full lengh-review will be posted on Instagram, Goodreads and Amazon in the 2nd or 3rd week of June.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I was literally obsessed with this and couldn't put it down for the life of me. I lost count of how many times I literally squealed out loud and my cheeks hurt so much from pretty much constantly smiling. I LOVED it! And the epilogue... Oh my God, it was so sweet. I'll definitely be bingeing her other books!

I love the troupe fake dating/friends to lovers, so this was the perfect read for me.
Set on a Christmas tree farm, things aren't going too good. There is a competition to win some money, and it will get some free publicity through an Instagram influencer. Stella decides that running it with a 'boyfriend' sounds more romantic, so 'fake dates' her best friend Luka.
I just loved everything about this book. The characters were so sweet. I was quite emotionally invested in them all. It's quite a funny read with a good amount of spice. The scene where the week had ended even had me shedding a tear. I'm already looking forward to reading the next books in the series.
Set over Thanksgiving/Christmas but can be read anytime of the year.

I'd like to start off this review by giving a big thanks to NetGalley, the publishers and of coarse the author B.K. Borison for providing me with a free ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
If you're reading this review, STOP. Go read the book, You wont regret it.
This book deserves so much more than 5 stars!!! This started off my reading month so so well. I heard so much amazing things about this book so when I saw that ARC application, it was like a calling if you must and I do not regret it whatsoever because this book is definitely up there with my top 10 books of 2023 so far.
Stella has always wanted to let people make memories with their families the same way she and her mother made them at the same exact Christmas tree farm she bought a year ago. But not everything is going to plan especially with some racoons wanting to be enemies. The farm isn't doing that well financially but Stella refuses to depend on her other business partners or her best friend. When the opportunity arises that the farm can be featured in a competition with a big cheque as the prize, Stella doesn't think twice to apply. Although, while applying she might have said a bit of a white lie which may include her and her best friend of 9 years, Luca, dating and opening the farm together because who doesn't love a sappy romance story? Now with the influencer on her way, she needs someone to act as her fake boyfriend, and the only person who would do it without a second thought, is the man she was thinking of while lying in the application.

This book was *chefs kiss*! The characters practically OWN a fraction of my heart now. The book immediately starts off with the plot so it's definitely not one of those books which you need to read till 75% to actually see the plot come to life. All the side characters are so well written! I honestly, genuinely can not express how amazing this book is in this review because I will need at least an hour and forty five minutes to rant about how much I love Stella and Luca together. Luca being Italian makes him so much better! I loved the way he interacts with his family because yes, when you're European each and every aunt knows your business and considers it her own and his aunts along with his mother truly made the book.
I can not wait to get my hand on the second book which is Beckett's book! I just know I'm going to go feral reading it cause who doesn't love a guy who keeps kittens in his front pouch.🛐

Lovelight Farms is the story of Stella and Luka, best friends who fake being in a relationship to enter a competition. Stella owns Lovelight Farms and she needs to boost its appeal and to do this, she enters a competition with big prize money at the end of it, except she's lied on the application form and said that she owns the farm with her boyfriend. Her best friend Luka agrees to go along with the ruse and they both decide to see where their relationship goes, deciding that no matter what, they'll still be best friends at the end of it.
I really enjoyed this book and it has helped pull me out of a long reading slump. I don't normally go for friends to lovers tropes but this was such a joy to read. The chemistry and depth of feeling between Luka and Stella was amazing. I loved the level of understanding they had with each other, with the cutest moments between them sprinkled in. The setting and secondary characters were all brilliant and added to the depth of the story. Thank you Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for the review copy.

i am such a sucker for best friends to lovers so i thought this was absolutely perfect! it had everything i adore from casual intimacy to mutual pining <3 even the (short-lived) conflict was so realistic and made sense for two people who have been blindly in love with each other for nearly a decade. also seeing the love language of physical touch expressed so simply, yet so beautifully left me feeling extremely touch starved! every single character in this book is so lovable, i am obsessed with this little farm family. despite being christmas-themed, lovelight farms is the perfect read for any time of year🥰

This book tugged at my heart strings and left me in the Christmas spirit in June. This best friends to lovers book is perfect for the Christmassy period to share all the joy and love of the holiday. Lovelight Farms is everything you want for a little Christmas spirit to boost your mood.
The book was so well written and had such a captivating storyline that I found myself dropping everything I needed to do just so I could keep reading. I read this book across 3 days. I don’t remember the last time I read through a book this quickly because I was so hooked to the story.
This book solely focuses on the FMCs POV which I really enjoyed but I’m a sucker for dual POV so I was sad I wasn’t able to get the MMCs thoughts and feelings which would have helped me understand him a little better. The FMC did have a moment of miscommunication which really frustrated me BUT she made up for it with her declaration of love just the way Penny did with Leonard in Big Bang Theory (if you know, you know).
After finishing this book, I felt so warm inside and happy and just thoroughly enjoyed this story of two best friends who found their way to each other. This was my first book by B.K. Borison and it will definitely not be the last! 😍

REVIEW
⚠️cw: bereavement, grief⚠️
Stella Bloom and Luka Peters have been best friends for almost a decade.
Stella's Christmas tree farm is in dire straights. When the opportunity for huge publicity, along with a cash prize, comes her way, wanting to sell the romance of her farm, she pretends she has a live-in boyfriend. In steps Luka. But are either of them really pretending?
Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes, and I adore stories where both are clueless of how the other is feeling, but mutually pining while EVERYONE ELSE KNOWS. That's the case here, and it was absolutely gorgeous. I loved Stella from the first page. She was hilarious, but I also cared so much about her, and her vulnerabilities were so well observed. Luka was a perfect book boyfriend - sweet, amusing, caring, but also insanely hot and intelligent. I adored them together and was heavily invested in their HEA. Chapter twenty-one wrecked me but also left me squealing excitedly! I also LOVED the change in POV at the end. Luka was so adorable. And that epilogue just summed them up perfectly.
There are also some wonderful supporting characters, as well as set-ups for other books in the series - I was obsessed with Beckett and Lyla from the start, and I loved the found family dynamic between them, Stella and Luka, but also practically the whole town. I also loved Stella's brother Charlie, as well as Dane and Caleb.
This was the swooniest of swoon-worthy friends-to-lovers story, and I cannot wait to read more of this series!

Stella and Luka. Luka and Stella. Best friends. Soul mates. A Christmas miracle.
Stella signs her Christmas tree farm up for a social media competition ran by a famous influencer hoping to win the prize money to fix the long list of financial problems she has with the farm. Problem is, she told the influencer that she runs the farm with her boyfriend. She enlists Luka, her best friend of 10 years, to play the part, but the longer they spend faking, the less both of them want it to be fake.
Lovelight farms is cute, cosy and heartwarming. The love Stella and Luka have for each other is clear from the start but their regard for their friendship outweighs that. It draws you in like a warm hug and you're transported into the small town of Inglewild, rooting for them and passing the news along the phone tree. This is the perfect Christmas read, or summer, but don't be disappointed if you look outside and it's not actually snowing. B. K. Borison knows how to set a scene and I can't wait to dive into this world again with the rest of the series.

Cozy and light-hearted, Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is story about love and the fear of abandonment.
Summary: Stella Bloom is an owner of a Christmas tree farm, and she finds herself needing a fake boyfriend after lying on her application for a competition. After some contemplation, she asks her best friend Luka Peters to play the role. But guess what? The two also happen to have feelings for each other for the past 9 years.

Review: I enjoyed this book. I like the characters and can’t wait to read a book about this one particular side character I love: Evelyn.
Anyway, I like Stella and Luka a lot. I like how upfront they are about their feelings (even if there may be some hiccups along the way). They see the sexual tension between them and decide to give it a shot. I like that part about them. I like how they’re navigating their relationship.
I understand Stella’s struggles with her family and the kind of trauma it has given her. I love her father’s family, though (though her father, not so much)… They’re so sweet! I’d love to see more of Elle and Charlie. I honestly just love how awesome Elle is for seeing her husband’s illegitimate daughter as her own daughter. It’s so sweet. And even though it makes Stella uncomfortable, as it’s a reminder of her origins, I still think it’s sweet that she’s not a stereotypical evil stepmother – would you even call her a stepmother? Anyway, I also understand Stella’s fear of people leaving her. It must’ve been so tough, so I understand everything she’s done in this book. I’m just glad they quickly communicated.
COMMUNICATION! YES! We all love communication.
All in all, I recommend this book to romance readers, especially those who enjoy best friends to lovers and fake dating. I think this is a great book to read during the Christmas season. It certainly gives the holiday vibe.

This was a very sweet story. And I loved it so much more than I thought I would, now, I’m going to binge read this entire series. Loved it.

This was such a cute book with a really good storyline. I really enjoyed every second off it and cannot wait to read more from B.L. Borison. I wanted to read this because of the cover because it is adorable but the story inside was really good and the characters had fantastic chemistry. A wonderful slow burn friends to lovers.

LOVELIGHT FARMS - B. K. BORISON
RATING: 4.5 STARS
Best decision ever to read this one! If you are looking for a low-angst, well-written romance novel, you should pick this one up!
I am sooo waiting for the updated cover, so than I maybe could buy it in a physical copy as well. It will be worth every penny.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The story follows two best friends, Luka and Stella, who became inseparable about nine years ago: she was in a really dark place after the death of her mother and he was somewhat lost after starting over in a new town.
Their meet-cute was one like in the romance movies: she was holding the one piece of hardware in her hands she had no idea why she purchased, but he did in fact needed it for something. After having grilled cheese and meaningful, easy conversation, they fast became friends. Life changed and there were flings, boyfriends, new addresses, challenges, workplaces...
But everything was smooth sailing when it came to was running smoothly when it came to their friendship. Well, up until Stella decided to take part in an influencer's prize competition and lie on the application form.
So when she is picked for a selected few, she suddenly is in dire need of a boyfriend. After some deliberation, she turns to Luka, her most trusted friend, with the strange request.
Would he be willing to be her fake-boyfriend for a week?
But... Could their relationship survive the playing pretend?
MY REVIEW:
This is my introduction to the author, and I am well-aware, that is is a holiday romance. But..
1 - it doesn't necessarily feel like one.
2 - it is so up my alley when it comes to writing style, love stories and storylines, that I am not a 100 percent convinced, that the author did not write it especially for me. I mean, could you imagine? Getting a story fitted for your preferences? THE DREAM!
I was perfectly enchanted from the get go. I like the concept - what's not to like? Two best friends enter a fake relationship to save her Christmas tree farm.
Luka is so likable and perfectly suited for La La (and for every female on the planet - perfect book boyfriend material) and she is so not used to being treated nicely by others.
They were sweet as friends, and tooth-achingly sweet, fitted together like puzzle pieces as a couple. Every single person in their town was rooting for them, no surprise there.
I liked the secondary characters, but I had very fond feelings towards Charlie. I will be waiting patiently for his story.
The meaningful, sad parts were nicely incorporated into the more uplifting, funny ones, so you didn't only feel one side of the emotional spectrum. I really liked that the angst was resolved in somewhat of a comical way and that there was a definite happy ending for all parts concerned.
I would have preferred a bit of a longer conclusion, maybe looking into the future, but it wasn't a main concern.
I enjoyed how domestic little scenes were detailed, how the affection were threaded through the characters' actions and words. I was LIVING for the new-found romantic ways the main characters re-discovered each other. Even the spiciness was executed in a way that wasn't too little or too much.
If you liked Emily Henry's People We Meet on Vacation, I wouldn't hesitate to pick this one up.
IN CONCLUSION
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS STORY, IF
- you like reading about best friends falling in love
- you need a new book-boyfriend for obvious thirsting reasons
- you enjoy holiday romances
- you are a fan of small towns and all the meddling taking place in them
- you like a tight-knit friendship group
- ARE HERE FOR THE MUTUAL, DELICIOUS PINING!

Friends/to-lovers is not my favourite trope, but I enjoyed this story because of the festive mood which added charm to the book. I was gonna give it 4 stars until towards the end when Luca admitted his feelings to Stella. I got VERY frustrated with Stella from that point. If you don’t want it and want to saborage it, then what was the point of the past 300 pages?!😅 But that’s just me. I think this is a romance that can be liked many people, especially fans of the trope!
3 ⭐️

Loved this book. Met all my expectations. Was the perfect balance of cute and had all the romance I could need. Can’t wait for the next few books

Luka and Stella have been best friends for 10yrs but both have been falling in love with the other and not admitted it to themselves, let alone each other.
I really enjoyed the story and I think Luka and Stella were really sweet together, I loved their friendship and how they know everything about each other. When they have to pretend to be in a relationship for a contest, they both jump at the chance to play pretend for a week or two.
The chemistry between them felt natural and not forced and my only criticism is Stella not believing Luka when he told her he didn't want the relationship to end, he wanted to be a couple and that he was in love with her.
Stella refused to accept what he said and I feel like it was a ridiculous idea to have her thinking that given the amount of times she had mentioned the looks and touches between the two of them over the years had made her think he felt the same way. So to dismiss his admissions felt like a bit of a kick in the teeth.
Thankfully she came around pretty quickly and it wasn't dragged out into some big thing.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!

<i>"Anyway, I guess what I’m trying to say is I still have about two hundred of those cardboard pine trees. And I have a recurring order. I’m - I'm not gonna leave, La La. I’ve still got plenty of trees to give you. As long as you want me around, I’ll be here.”</i>
This is the festive, Christmassy book of my dreams: it's sweet and heartfelt, and the plot is entertaining without being overcomplicated.
The book has some of my absolute favorite trope, such as:
🎄 best friends to lovers
🎄 fake dating
🎄 small town
I especially love the sense of community the author created in this small town, it feels like a big family.
The main characters are just two dorks in love and it's been a delight reading about them falling in love, denying to themselves that love and then just being cute and sweet together.
This is my first read of B.K. Borison and I am hooked, I can't wait to get my hands on the sequels.

Listen, the Lovelight series has been one of my faves for a while and I’ve reread both In the Weeds and Mixed Signals and hyped them up (deservedly) but Lovelight Farms has just sat there being overlooked and I am SO disappointed in myself because it is INCREDIBLE!
I read this book for the first time back in 2021 and I remember loving it but then I popped it back on my shelf and moved on and I don’t know how I moved on because after rereading it, Luka and Stella are permanently imprinted on my brain and my heart.
Fake dating, Friends to lovers is THE trope for me. Add in some fake dating and it will never not slap for me but Lovelight Farms actually hit it out of the park! Luka and Stella as individual characters are two of my faves. Luka is hot and swoony and caring and thoughtful (and he loves a spreadsheet 😮💨). And Stella is one of the most relatable characters I’ve ever read - her fear of abandonment and letting people in hits so close to home and I want to protect her at all costs.
But Luka and Stella together are absolute chefs kiss. The chemistry between them is out of this world and add on the fact that they’ve known each other for a decade, they really know each other better than anyone else and that really shows in the way they are with each other. The fact that they slip so seamlessly into “fake dating” each other because it’s not so different from the way they usually are with each other, only there’s more hand holding and kissing and then some.
Watching them grow into this new relationship with these new interactions was honestly so wholesome. The are the epitome of “it’s always been you” and I LOVE them with my whole heart.
The epilogue had me sobbing my heart out and the bonus Luka chapter? Pls send help 😮💨🫠
The Lovelight series has recently been picked up for traditional publishing and it’s SO deserved. The kindle version is out now but the new, trad published copy is out on 8th June and you better believe I have it pre-ordered 🫡

The perfect quick read when you're in the mood for a sweet cozy romance.
The characters were well written and likeable
Can't wait to read more from B.K. Borison
