Imagine booking a holiday to a resort, only find out you didn't read, that it was a device free holiday! Not even kindles or ipods are allowed.
Jodie, lola and Rory spent a week doing jusy that.

I absolutely adored this story from each ladies POV beautifully written, relatable and so funny

Rory, Luna and Jodie are three solo travellers on a retreat holiday in the sun. Each of them should be having the time of their lives as students but instead they are miserable. Thrown together in the face of adversity (no phones or any kind of devices are permitted at the retreat!!) they cease to be strangers and form a bond of friendship.
The Summer Switch-Off is the perfect summer read, a tale of friendship, sisterhood and finding a new direction in life. There is romance, broken hearts, comical mishaps and bravery all wrapped up in one week in the sun.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Perfect summer read!
Really enjoyed the trio and their insights into “the holiday from hell”. There was a good mix of funny moments and anxiety fuelled conversations. Each girl had their own issue to solve and they came together to help each other through it. I feel this would be good for those who are contemplating uni and briefly touches into why it’s not right for everyone. I also appreciated that the romance aspect wasn’t too much and ultimately a great story of finding those friendships of a lifetime.

This was such a fun, heart-warming book with a found family style of relationship/ seeing te characters grow together. I also really enjoyed how twisty this was with funny shenanigans and dynamic characters which are different and unique from each other yet they grow and help each other overcome their problems. Also the setting was lovely, I loved the idea of switching off for a week and seeing the 3 girls having to instead battle with themselves and grow together - it was really sweet to read. I just really enjoyed this it was a great light-hearted summer read and I highly recommend.

This is a five-star read that may switch some opinions. This was a fun and twisty read, it will keep your emotions on the edge, as you will be up and down. I adored Luna, Rory and Jodie for most of the story, but honestly there were parts that they aggravated me and pushed every one of my buttons. I must admit I would love to go on a break like theirs, to go digital free, it may be worth putting up with Esteban (the hotel manager who likes to keep things interesting). Each of the main characters faces a challenge and a different reason for coming on the trip, but they each show us that deep down we aren’t that different. This would be a great read for so many ages, as I feel that we could all get something out of it, no matter your age. This is one of those stories that will suck you in and would be perfect with a little sunshine and relaxation.

I was really happy to be able to read an advanced copy of this book. Having read a number of books by Beth Reekles before, I hoped this would be just as enjoyable and I wasn't disappointed! In fact, I think I enjoyed this more than the others. The main characters and their friendship were relatable as was the setting - it really made wish it was time for the summer holidays already. Perfect for by the pool - I will be recommending this to our KS4 students as a summer read.

in this book we meet three leading ladies Luna, Rory and Jodie. Who each feel that they should be living their best lives. Whereas instead they are all desperately unhappy.

Luna has just finished her first year in uni. Everything was going swimmingly well until she is going through a relationship and she finds out that people who seemed to have been her friends are all now ghosting her and she feels absolutely completely alone. Next up we have Rory who is an extremely talented artist. However she feels isolated alone from her family and decides that to make herself fit in she needs to sign up for the sensible law degree that her family desperately want her to gain, however it's making her utterly miserable. Lastly we have Jodie who is also at uni who is absolutely exhausted and is worried about where life is leading her and if she is on the correct path for her. She has no friends and no love life and is also feeling very isolated and alone. All of them are in desperate need of a life switch up and so they all decide that they need to book a holiday to escape. The holiday is advertised as the best break for solo travellers. However when they all stumble upon each other it happens to be the best thing that could have ever happened to each of them and together perhaps they aren't so alone.

A lovely book of friendship, discovering ourselves and what makes us happy and how we shouldn't be so quick to put what's best for us aside to appease other people.

Quintessential Beth Reekles - playful and fun, but with plenty of heart and emotion in there for good measure. A beautiful coming-of-age story that makes for a perfect summer read.

Beyond excited to read, review, and acquire this book, I love the inclusive cover and how there are relatable storylines involving such a diverse group of girls. I thought they were very relatable to listen to almost like chatting with your girlfriends. It was a great book to escape into especially with the phone detox I knew it would be an adventure
