Whenever I’m looking for an escape into a different world I know I can rely on one of Jo’s books and I’ll be in safe hands. I’ve only recently discovered her Seabreeze farm books but they’ve all bought a smile to my face despite them having emotional storylines and helped to pick me up.

In the last summer we meet Georgia and Gabe, Georgia has just been told she’s maybe got a year left to live unless a kidney and pancreas match can be found for her - with extremely slim chances of this happening in time. As Georgia knows just how short life can be she’s determined to make the most of her last summer and tick off her three big dreams - it’s Gabe’s desire to ensure that Georgia gets them.

Along with these two amazing characters (who are the best of friends) we also spend loads of time with Ellie and Karen up at Seabreeze Farm - and of course all the animals to. Because of this you got the feeling that you are returning to a much loved place, which is just how I can imagine Georgia felt to.

I really enjoyed this book and kept reaching to pick it up and read a few chapters as it was so easy to jump back into the characters lives .

Given one year to live, Georgia is determined to make the most of her time left. All she wants os for her best friend Gabe to be alongside her as she tackles the difficult diagnosis and ticks off her bucket list, but sometimes her independent streak makes that difficult.
This is a beautifully heartrending tale of love and friendship. You will need tissues for this one.

One Last Summer at Sea Breeze by Jo Barlett is a heartwarming and emotional story about Georgia Banks, a young woman who learns she has only one more summer to live. Determined to make the most of her time, Georgia creates a not-a-bucket list of things she wants to do before she goes, with spending one last summer by the sea at the top of her list.

Seabreeze Farm, a farm overlooking the English Channel, becomes the perfect destination for Georgia's last summer. With the company of rescued animals and the warmth of the friendships she develops there, Georgia starts to believe that she can live out all her dreams before it's too late. However, just when she believes she has everything she wanted, she gets another chance at life.

Georgia faces her biggest challenge yet as she must choose between taking the chance at life and losing the person she cares about most. The story is beautifully written with layered characters and emotional depth. It will make you laugh and cry at the same time.

Overall, One Last Summer at Sea Breeze is an inspiring novel about friendship, love, and the importance of living life to the fullest. It is a must-read for anyone who loves heartwarming stories with a touch of romance and adventure.

Georgia has been given a year to live and in that year she's determined to make the most of the time that she has left. She has a bucket list and once to tick off every item. Her best friend Gabe is ready and willing to help her anyway he can. But sometimes Georgias independent streak makes it difficult to help her.

We also return to Seabreeze Farm where Georgia has been offered a holiday home for the summer, so we return to the characters we have met previously.

This is a heartbreaking and emotional story.

Upon receiving a heartbreaking diagnosis, Georgia resolves to live her remaining time to the fullest, choosing to spend her last summer by the sea. Her bucket list is filled with simple yet meaningful things like fundraising for a charity or adopting a puppy. Despite the intense curiosity of her best friend, Gabe, and her mother, Caroline, about possible treatments, Georgia remains focused on savoring her summer in Kelsea Bay. Here, she manages to check off wishes from her list, discovers love, nurtures hope for what lies ahead, and surrounds herself with a host of lively animals and supportive friends, characters that have become beloved from previous books.

This book was truly a beautiful read. It beautifully explores themes of finding hope in despair, the joy in life's small moments, and the development of a remarkable relationship at the heart of the story. Overall, I found the book deeply satisfying.

This was a sweet book, it was nice to catch up with the folks at the farm and to hear the tales of the animals. The descriptions of the surrounding areas and coast and farm are all very lovely.
This is one to read if you have read the rest of the series.

This is the third book in the 'Seabreeze Farm' series
The new main character that we meet in this book is Georgia, who has been given a terminal diagnosis of a year. She is determined to make the most if the time she has left, and armed with a bucket list and her best friend Gabe she comes to the farm for a short stay.
This book is heartbreaking and you may need tissues. Once again, the author's writing makes you feel you are actually at the seaside on the farm.
I would recommend this series and can't wait to read the next one in it when it us Published.
Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for this read.

Georgia and Gabe are best friends, and when she gets shattering health news, he does his best to make all her dreams come true.
She wants to spend a summer by the sea and manages to take advantage of a new holiday let at Seabreeze farm with superb views. I wanted to book a week there!
I loved Georgia and Gabes friendship and was willing them on to recognise just how special they were to each other. It was great to return to Seabreeze Farm and get to know all the characters better. It was such a heartwarming book, delivering a message about considering organ donation.
Jo's writing style is just so engaging, her characters are wonderful and you can imagine yourself in the setting.

Georgia is a complicated character and when we first meet her, it is clear that she is facing some life changing circumstances. What is clear is her independent spirit and determination not to be the centre of attention. She also has a kind heart and is keen to help others who she regards as more worthy of help than she is.

Family and friendships are central to the story. Seabreeze Farm is a warm and supportive environment and the perfect place for Georgia to spend this special Summer in. As Georgia looks to the future she has some difficult decisions to make. She tries to ensure that her mother and Gabe are able to move on and start over if necessary. However, her perception of what they want may not be the true situation and she has to realise that she cannot direct their future. This is ultimately a hopeful story which celebrates love and friendships. I am pleased to see that there are more planned in the series.

In short: family, friendship, moving on

I was provided this Advanced Reader’s Copy as part of a collective blog tour. The book intrigued me, as I thought it would be a nice easy, read for the start of spring/summer while sitting out in the sun. I certainly think that Seabreeze lives up to that expectation, although it was a bit heavier than I first expected. Clearly my reading comprehension needs work, because as you’ll see from the blurb below, it’s obviously about a woman who is dying :D.

This book was about a woman in her late 20’s named Georgia who has been living through some pretty terrible complications brought on by Type I Diabetes. Her heart has been compromised and is failing, and her doctors have given her 6 months to live unless she can get a kidney and pancreas transplant. You get to see how she choses to live out her days and all of the truly extraordinary group she’s built around herself. Georgia gets to live in a cottage by the sea with her best friend a stone’s throw from her favorite place in all of England. Throw in a little drama concerning the transplant, a miracle, two love stories, and you’ve got a great novel to kick back in the sun and devour in one day.

Truly the best part of One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm was the relationships formed between all of the characters. Georgia’s character development was exactly what I would have wanted to see. I felt irritated about her intense need to not be taken care of. Georgia’s mother Caroline explains good deeds in the perfect way. I thought it was a very profound observation. She says that people do good things because it makes them feel good. Not because they view you as a charity case. As someone who sometimes struggles with working out people’s intentions, I seriously appreciated this take.

The Oscar for best supporting actor should for 100% go to Gerald the Donkey. I think without the inclusion of the inspiration he sparks in Georgia the mood of the novel would have been too dark. The little inserts of his antics and how much the donkeys mean to Georgia really lightened everything up. I enjoyed this book from start to finish, even though I DIDN’T WANT IT TO END. Yes, I still went WHAT IT’S OVER?!? when I finished, but I feel like the ending wrapped everything up nicely.

Definitely read this one if you like to spend those spring and summer afternoons with a tall glass of lemonade, listening to birdsong, while reading a cute cozy novel. I promise it’ll bring a smile to your face, even with a typically sad storyline.

A very emotional read and one that makes you realise that if you’ve have your health then you are one of the lucky ones. At first I wasn’t sure I could cope with all the sadness but, I carried on and ended up enjoying this one very much. I’ve read the first two in this series and although this one was different it was still a good one. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This is the third in this series but can be read as a standalone, although it is good to catch up with some of the characters from the previous books. Given the terrible news that your life is very limited you must enjoy every moment given to you. One great wish was to spend the summer by the coast and Seabreeze Farm is the ideal place as it has been visited many times in the past. Can they help or will it be too late. This is a tear-jerker for sure but a wonderful reminder about how important organ donations really are. Wonderful novel and I highly recommend reading this. Find out for yourself what happens in this lovely story. Everything about it is fantastic. Well worth 5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC

One Last Summer is book three in Seabreeze Farm. Something I didn't know when deciding to read this book. Though let me tell you, get those tissues ready because this story is going to take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I do suggest reading the first two books before this one. It's a great story.
