Georgia only has a little time left. She makes a list, of thing she want to do before her time runs out. On top of that list is spending the summer by the sea.
Most important she wants that her best friend Gabe would be a part of it all.
It's the kind of story that pulls at all of your heartstrings and makes you feel all of the feels...
Jo Bartlett writes the kinds of books that readers want when they are looking for a warm and emotional read This title is the third in a series but can easily be read as a standalone. It is the story of Georgia Banks.
Georgia has been given some bad news, really bad. Readers learn this right away. It makes her decide to make the most of the summer. Georgia wants to be by the sea and with her friend Gabe. She stays at the lovely Seabreeze Farm (I wish that I could go there!).
What happens to Georgia? What will this mean to her and Gabe?
I very much enjoyed this emotional read. Recommended for those who enjoy good stories and women’s fiction.
Many thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for this title. Also thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books. All opinions are my own.
This is the third in the Seabreeze series and it's definitely one that requires tissues to be on standby.
Although I've still yet to read the first in this series, I've loved the ones I have and have become emotionally invested in the characters and their stories.
Georgia Banks has been given a terminal diagnosis of a year and is determined to make the most of her remaining time. So armed with her not a bucket list she heads to the farm, in the hope of fulfilling her final wishes.
I love the characters, I adore the rescue animals and I'm a sucker for a happy ending.
Many thanks to Rachel's Random Resources for my tour spot.

My Review: I found this to be a well written and well researched book which follows Georgia's story, along with her serious health issues and the impact these have on her mother Caroline and childhood sweetheart Gabe. Gabe and Georgia end up at the wonderful Seabreeze Farm, which also hosts One Wish Weddings. This book is filled with love, determination, inspiration. It's quite emotional.
One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm looks into Georgia's life - she knows that, sadly, she's only for one last summer to make all her dreams come true. One item on her not-a-bucket-list is to live in a property overlooking the sea. Seabreeze Farm is set on a cliff postponing the English channel and the owners dad, Alan, is converting an old barn into a holiday let. The only snag is that it won't be ready for guests until at least Christmas. Georgia is a strong-willed young woman who is determined to make the most of her last year and there's no place she lives more than visiting Seabreeze Farm.... Join Georgia on her journey for a fantastic read
Georgia is a girl who is doing her best with the knowledge that her kidneys and pancreas are failing and she needs a transplant. On the surface, you could be forgiven for thinking that this story is going to be heavy going, but it wasn't. She has her best friend, Gabe, along for support, as well as her mother Caroline.
Caroline is dipping her toe back into the dating scene after losing her husband many years earlier. She tries hard to support Georgia but Georgia is stubborn and Caroline is very emotional. It leads to some butting of heads and a difference of opinion.
The story was sweet, I enjoyed all the characters although I wish there was a bit more depth to it, somehow. The parts which could have been really emotional, were skimmed over a little. Hard to explain.
Enjoyed the book overall though.
4 stars from me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books.
Warning be prepared to ugly cry a lot! Georgia is told that she doesn't have long left to live. She wants to make the most of her last summer at Seabreeze farm. I'm not ashamed to say that I sobbed like a baby throughout reading this. It's a heartwrenching but also heartwarming story and I loved learning more about how important being a donor is. The effect that it has on the recipient is unimaginable but I know how hard it can be for the donors family. Georgia is one character that I admire as she cares so much for others but not so much about herself, she is super selfless I adored the animals particularly Barney and Ruby.
Jo Bartlett will break your heart and make it whole again with her emotional, uplifting and spellbinding new novel, One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm.
Georgia Banks is living on borrowed time. When doctors tell her that she’s got one last summer to make all of her dreams a reality, Georgia bites the bullet and decides to stop putting off her heart’s desires and use what little time she has left on this earth to make them a reality. With her best friend Gabe by her side, Georgia heads off to picturesque Seabreeze Farm perched high above the cliffs of the English Channel where surrounded by the charming antics of the menagerie of rescued animals and a warm-hearted community, she hopes to live out what little time she has left living life by her own rules and making all of her dreams come true.
Georgia is enjoying her time at Seabreeze Farm and just when she thinks she has nothing left to wish for, she gets another chance at life. However, there is a catch: seizing the day this time around might just end up costing her the one person who means the world to her. Just when happiness was within her reach, will Georgia end up losing everything all over again? Or will Seabreeze Farm end up giving her everything she has always hoped for, but never thought she could actually have?
One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm is a tender, touching and feel-good read that will make you laugh and cry. A wonderful story about love, friendship and community written with Jo Bartlett’s trademark flair, charm and sensitivity, One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm is a lovely read that cannot fail to brighten up the darkest and greyest of days.
I usually love Jo's books but I'm sorry to say I have to admit Georgia the main character in this one really annoyed me. Yes she had a possibly terminal illness which wasn't her fault but to me her attitude stunk, she came across as a very selfish and self centered person
The topics covered certainly made you think and I did however enjoy catching up with the family on Seabreeze farm again
I started this series with book 2 and I love it! Each book in the series focuses on other characters which makes it possible to read these books as stand-alone stories. This story was heartbreaking! I would even call it a tearjerker. I read lots of it with tears in my eyes, a stomach ache and a lump in my throat. I am NOT exagerating! I was really moved by this story and could feal the pain and sadness that Geogia, her mother and Gabe her best friend were going through at the thought of Georgia's days being numbered and having to live in the now, because it could all be over very soon. This book took living your best life and making every day count to a new level.
I was once again amazed by how vivid a picture Jo drew of the characters and the setting. I feel like I know both the place and the people personally and was just as moved by Georgia's story as if it had happened to a relative or close friend. I really enjoyed being back on Seabreeze farm with Karen, Allan, Ellie and Ben and can't wait to see what the spin-off will bring.
When a book starts with “How long have I got?”, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this might not prove to be the lightest or happiest of reads. A few nearby tissues are recommended, but I must say I very much enjoyed sharing Georgia’s likely last summer, the one she desperately wanted to spend beside the sea. Her heart is failing, and the chances of the kidney and pancreas transplant she needs are negligible – but my goodness, she shows such bravery when the odds are so heavily against her. In fact, she’s sometimes a bit too independent, refusing the help that’s available – her mother Caroline is frustrated that she seems to have given in to the inevitability of it all (something she flatly refuses to do) and her close friend Gabe has put his future on hold so they can spend precious time together. The relationship between Georgia and Gabe is just beautiful – all their exchanges are light and sparky as they constantly make fun of each other, but there’s a really special bond between them that neither one is willing to acknowledge in case it spoils everything.
Seabreeze Farm proves the perfect escape for them – a building converted together with the One Wish charity, some assistance reluctantly accepted and more than repaid when Georgia uses her skills as an artist to help with fund-raising. And Georgia and Gabe spend a blissful summer, surrounded by friends on the farm, sharing laughter at the antics of the animals, helping out at the wedding venue… until the end of their stay approaches, and the difficult times become their reality again.
As they have with others, the folk at Seabreeze Farm embrace them as part of the family – and if you’ve read the other books in the series (which really isn’t essential) it’s good too to catch up on their lives and the way their enterprise has grown. But it’s Georgia’s plight that has you by the heart – and as her story continues to unfold, there are plenty of tears before the story’s conclusion, and not for the obvious reasons. Emotionally, this book is simply perfect – the author can always be relied on to be a safe pair of hands, and although the subject is a difficult one the story retains its lightness and there are plenty of opportunities to smile amid the darkness. And yes, you’ll see from the books description that Georgia gets the chance at life she’s hoping for – but that doesn’t come without many complications, which the author navigates so very well.
This was such a lovely read – finding hope where there seems little left, happiness in the small things, and a relationship at the story’s centre that was something very special indeed. Highly recommended, as always – and I’m looking forward to whatever comes next.
How would you spend your last days if you knew you only had a few months to live?
Jo Bartlett touched upon a topic that can be difficult to read. Georgia was dying. She knew it and accepted it. Georgia had a to do list before she died and her best friend, Gabe, was going to help her
achieve everyone of them.
Georgia and Gabe have been best friends since grade school. Is their more there than just friendship?
This is a story that touches your heart.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I really enjoy Jo Bartlett's books and the latest installment in the Seabreeze Farm series did not disappoint. The novel was engaging, entertaining, and moving, and I was invested in the story and the characters. Already looking forward to the next book.
This is such a beautifully crafted book, the emotional storyline Is pitched perfectly and it is not at all depressing despite the difficult subject matter. The characters were so beautifully written and the connections and relationships we so relatable it completely stole my heart. Organ donation is so important and the subject was handled wonderfully.
One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm is a wonderful heartwarming story from Jo Bartlett, such an emotional read, you’ll definitely need some tissues during this one so don’t say I didn’t warn you. Friends to lovers isn’t usually one of my favourite romance tropes, but Jo managed to completely change my mind during this book with her wonderful characters and lovely storytelling.
I really did connect with the characters and it’s hard not to love every one of them , they are such a gorgeous community and show more than once that they truly care and want to help Georgia. This is what I love so much, the found family and community, I think I was going to break so many different times and yet these characters pick you back up and bring so much joy back in other ways.
I love how this draws attention to the importance of organ donation, it really is such a beautiful gift you can and one that needs to be discussed more openly between family members , so I thought it was lovely to highlight it so well. I always love the message of hope on stories, as I think it’s the most important thing to have and this illustrates it so well. All I can say is Jo has done it again, another book with a lovely romance, wonderful characters (yes I’ve said it before but they really are) and a bucketload of emotion.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
3.5 upped to 4
I love this series and love Jo Bartlett's stories as they're always heartwarming and dealing with serious issues at the same time.
I wasn't a fan of this one as Georgia made me think about Ella from Cornish Midwife series and there were some common points.
I enjoyed the plot, smiled and rooted for the characters but somehow it was a bit like knowing what was going to happen.
This is my impression, please note that it's a good story.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine
I always enjoy Jo Bartlett’s books, and although the story line was good, and I loved the focus on organ transplants, I did not warm up to the main character. Georgia just seems to constantly get in in her own way at every turn as she rejects almost all overtures of kindness and help. There is a difference between pity and empathy which she did not seem to grasp. It was nice to catch up with characters from the previous books in the series.
One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm by Jo Bartlett is another heartwarming romance in the Seabreeze Farm series. Georgia Banks has some serious health issues that indicates strongly that her time is running out. Her best friend Gabe and she decide to conquer her “not-a-bucket list” together. It is during this time that both decide to admit their true feelings for each other. No worry this is not a “Love Story” kind of story. In fact, it is better than that.
Georgia and Gabe are charming characters that you can’t help but want a miracle to happen with Georgia’s health issues. However, sometimes one issue can lead to a misunderstanding in another especially when every day is cloudy with unknowns. It becomes very emotional which this story certainly is.
Beautiful scenery, wonderful supporting characters and a reminder to live every day to the fullest. One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm is an pleasing story that will lift your heart.
An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book is a great read that you don't want to miss. It's a heartwarming story that is full of emotions and will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I loved it and highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy from Boldwood Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
What an incredibly emotional book. I love this author's books, and this is unlike any I have read from the rom com genre before. It emphasizes the importance of organ donation to help others in desperate need.
I have always enjoyed reading the Seabreeze Farm series with its farmhouse perched high up on the cliffs above the English Channel. It truly sounds like the perfect relaxation place to be.
Before you start reading this do have your tissues ready.
Georgia and Gabe have known each other all their life, he has seen her in good times and bad. Recently it's been more of her going through the bad times. You see Georgia has failing health and is told she has one last summer to make all her dreams come true. With her bucket list ready of simple things like spending her last days by the sea and having a puppy. She doesn't dare to voice aloud her one wish she's doesn't in a million years think will come true. All these wishes, she wants Gabe by her side all the way.
Gabe will be with her all the way as she gets her last wish filled in such an unexpected way.
All the emotions with this one. I loved it!
