Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.
I was hesitate about reading this book but because it got good reviews I decided to give it a try.
This book is a short one but it is steamy for sure. This is the first book in a new series of Sexy Catfight Stories.
I suggest you give this one a try it won't disappoint you.
I went into this fully expecting erotica, not much plot and I was okay with that, it's what I signed up for when requesting this, but my, oh my did I not get that.
Unfortunately, Ashcroft manages to write a story with homophobia, humiliation/bullying and unnecessary shaming around sexuality. All elements you would not associate with a FF erotic novel.
The writing is painfully bad, which in an erotic novel/novella can be forgiven if the other elements are solid but that doesn't happen here. The story reads like a 16 year-old with a lesbian fetish wrote out his fantasies.
Nice premise and looked really promising. But just ok for me. And why the erotica tag??? Wasn't erotica by any means.
Dark. Violent. Scary. I wasn't sure what to expect but wow. I know this book is going to be very polarizing but I kind of enjoyed that aspect.
I am not sure what to think of this book. I know the title of the book is Sorority Rumble but I didn't realize that is exactly what this book is. I am not sure why Mandy would continue to try to be part of the sorority that was full of bullies with her being their main target. In addition, it was strange how two college girls were able to fight like MMA pros and able to take hit after hit without any indication of previous training. It was well written and left little to the imagination with the great details but it didn't really seem to have a point. Not to mention, the confession at the end. I think this book could have used one more chapter to give some sort of clue of what comes next for Mandy and Zoey.
I’m sorry, but I thought the book was awful. I loved the message of standing up for friends but it really was just naked, sweaty fighting. There wasn’t anything that I would deem ‘erotic’ about the book. I can’t say that I would recommend the read unfortunately
Overall, I enjoyed this as a quick read, something to wind down with. I enjoyed some of the scenes in the story. However, I feel like this had more potential than was actually shown. The character development needed some depth and the story itself could have been more detailed with some more background information. I connected with one of the characters so would have liked to read a little more about her background, especially as she seems to be the main character.
Are you kidding??
This is said to be female erotica - It is a LIE!
This is packed with humiliation, homophobia, violence...
And oh yeah - let's not forget - they are (almost) naked, while it all happens.
Don't let this book fool you - There is absolutely nothing even remotely erotic about it!
Overall, just a decent short story. Not much to it but a fight.
Very little to almost no erotica about it. Just some body parts got punched and kicked.
Didn't expect this to be so short, boring, and uneventful. It was comprised of stereotypes and nothing even spicy came of it. I expected there to be more from this, an actual story maybe with characters that had more depth.
This was a short, quick read about standing up to your friends and centered around a sorority girl fight. There was a lot of humiliation in this book and although it was toted as FF erotica, it seemed to me to be a little homophobic, as nothing was really resolved around the main character's sexuality and she was often shamed for it with no resolution in her favor. The ending attempted to do this, but fell short in my opinion because it didn't make it clear whether she was accepted for her sexuality, just that it was acknowledged.
Short, fast, hot, sorority girl catfights and friendship. Sorority rumble is a great read to pick up if you want something hot, action-packed , or containing a great friendship between two girls who couldn't be more different and the lengths they would go to in order to protect the other. Zoey and Mandy's friendship was so much fun to read the only problem is I wish there was more.
I found this to be a fun short book, easily read. Friends standing up for each other, erotic sorority hazing and cat fight, and a female coming out. All wrapped up in an amusing story. Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
Well that was interesting. I don’t necessarily agree that this book is erotica. It’s essentially a short story of a couple of sorority girls beating each other up in front of a fraternity because one of the girls wanted to defend another girls honor when someone made fun of her for being a lesbian.
So if you’re into reading about mean girls beating the crap out of each other, go for it. This one was not for me. I didn’t like the homophobia either.
I'm glad that this book only was 39 pages long, because to me it was not it. Thankfully it was short, because otherwise I would've definitely dropped it. Not only was the writing really bad in my opinion and the descriptions very cringey, but the given genre was also kind of misleading? This was not erotica, or romance. This was a short story about bullying and yeah, "Sexy Catfight Stories" might be a good description of what will expect you, if you choose to pick up this book, although I'm not quite sure what was sexy about anything happening in the book. It's like what a man might find hot, seeing scantily cladded women fight, but still. It was more vicious than sexy. Also while the book might have been short, it still somehow mangaed to get repetitive and kinda boring? So yeah, I can say with my whole heart that I did not like this and also do not recommend it for anyone, except for those who weren't put off by my review.
This was a weird book but I was able to read it very quickly. I don't think I really liked the way some things worked out but I never really felt the need to DNF so that's good. I don't think I will be recommending this one...
This is a short reminder of bullies getting the tar kicked out of them. sorority pledging that has gone seriously wrong
This book is all sorts of weird.
I had to finish it to know what happened and who won but it was very strange.
