The continuation of the first book with more quests & visions & reshaping the goal of a united Ireland. The stories are delightfully written if not the underlying spare the rod spoil the child with the very fabric of Celtic belief being Angelized & Christianized. I think that goes back to the beginning of Abrahamic religions that was a hard trickle down though persecuting both the Jewish beliefs as well as Islamic in western society specifically from an English standpoint. Anything done by Priests, Rabbis or Imans or their disciples were Holy & miracles within the groups but sinful & vilified outside the groups. It gave all three the right to reign in terror in many cases, especially against other peoples to subjugate them. But then, on the other hand gave rise to them demonizing each other onto the vilifying of different segments within each. Beautifully put together & entertaining as a washed look at Irish fantasy history & attempt to unite the country under one king.
