Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
"Intermittent Fasting for Women" by Tya Felleous is a compelling read that delves into the intricacies of fasting as a transformative health practice, particularly tailored for women. Felleous, alongside James Hannah, presents a guide that is both informative and practical, making the science of intermittent fasting accessible to all.
The book stands out for its holistic approach, emphasizing the importance of the mind-body connection. It's not just about what you eat or when you eat; it's about understanding the psychological underpinnings of our eating habits and how to harness the power of the subconscious to foster lasting change. The inclusion of a self-hypnosis audio is a testament to the authors' commitment to providing a comprehensive toolkit for wellness.
Felleous doesn't shy away from the scientific aspects, offering a thorough explanation of how intermittent fasting can break the cycle of insulin resistance and aid in achieving a healthy weight. The book is peppered with the latest research, yet it remains digestible, avoiding the pitfall of overwhelming the reader with jargon.
What makes this book particularly engaging is its adaptability. Whether you're a beginner or well-versed in the world of fasting, there's something here for you. The guide is structured to help you choose the right fasting program for your circumstances, with an array of tips and tricks to make the process as seamless as possible.
The narrative is empowering, urging readers to reclaim control over their health. It's a refreshing take on the often daunting world of diets and weight loss, offering a path to wellness that feels both revolutionary and attainable. Felleous's voice is one of a knowledgeable friend, guiding you through the journey with empathy and expertise.
In summary, "Intermittent Fasting for Women" is more than a diet book; it's a lifestyle manifesto that encourages readers to explore the profound impact fasting can have on their health, longevity, and overall well-being. It's a valuable addition to the health literature that will likely inspire many of us to rethink our relationship with food and our bodies.
Will be going back to this again and again. Gives a lot of information and teaches you about diet. I want to use this in combination with exercise
I’m not quite sure what is the added value of this book?
It honestly felt like the authors just decided to write this book for the sake of writing a book and not because they have something new to add to the knowledge pool.
All in all, there was nothing new nor groundbreaking in this book. I would not recommend unless you’ve never heard of the IF concept before and even then, there are better books out there that would serve the purpose.
I've been up in the air about trying this for awhile now. Mostly because what I've read about it online and on Facebook makes it seem so complicated and so many rules. After reading this book it was more detailed and answered alot of questions I had. It made me feel like this might be a good option for me to try.
"Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle for Women" offers a comprehensive guide for women looking to incorporate intermittent fasting, the keto diet, and self-hypnosis into their wellness journey.
With a focus on weight loss and longevity, the book provides practical plans, recipes, and audio resources to help women harness the power of their subconscious mind for improved health.
Personally, I prefer an opt-in page over having to send an email to get the bonus so I can't comment on the self-hypnosis audio.
I've been doing clean IF for almost two years now and the lifestyle works for me, which is what drew me to this book. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a digital copy to read and review.
I wanted to read this book because I had heard a lot about intermittent fasting and thought perhaps I might try it. This book was a good choice. The authors provided an easily understood explanation of what it was as well as some of the history behind it. In addition, there were recipes to try. It definitely answered my questions and filled in any gaps. One thing I did not particularly like was the fact that the authors place a lot on a program you are supposed to watch/listen to during the program. However, I never could get the program, let alone make it work. Thus, I really don’t know how well or even if it works. I wish I had been able to access it. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.
Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle For Women was a great introduction to fasting. Each chapter ends with key takeaways which I found very helpful. The seven week transformation plan is a road map for which fast you choose. Following is a seven week low carb meal plan and a seven week ketogenic plan. Both include recipes.
I have been doing IF for over a year and read many books. Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle for Women was a breath of fresh air. It was written in an easy to understand way. She covered the science behind IF and gave great examples of how it works for women including those going through menopause. It also discussed keto and low carb. Bonus was the audio portion to help you adopt IF. It is a book that I will come back to when I need motivation.
Great resource to those who are beginning their journey into fasting.
What a great benefit to women readers because we all know that male and female bodies are so different and require changes.
Thank you to the author and Netgalley for providing me with this copy. All opinions are my own.
I found this book to be very informative regarding the process and function of Intermittent Fasting. I've been practicing this for over a year and still learned a lot with this book. Worth a read if you're interested in starting IF or if you're already practicing it and just want more information.
I've read several books on Intermittent Fasting. This is one of the best.
I like the audio meditation at the end. Three times now I've tried it. Every time, it has put me to sleep. I think I've managed to hear all of it now.
More than fasting, more than dieting, this is indeed a lifestyle, and I'd love to see more of us adopting it.
For me and my mom, it's been working for a few years. We've both lost 20+ pounds each.
More than that, my mom at 85 is now more agile, spry, and energetic than she was before the fasting.
She fasts from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m., while I from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Sometimes we take a break (family reunions, weddings).
Sometimes I need to go 18 or more hours, instead on only 16, as a kind of reset or jump start.
Great book! I recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
I've been doing intermittent fasting for over a year and I love the way I feel. This lifestyle works for me, but I was looking for a refresher on the why's/how's and I was very pleased with how thorough this book was. I had forgotten some of the basics and this was an easy way to reboot, so to speak. It would also be perfect for someone just starting their journey with the intermittent fasting lifestyle.
I’m glad to see a book on this topic. The chapter on pheromones and ways to make yourself feel good was enjoyable, but I’d like the author to site sources for data presented. This was a good reminder with a helpful variety of topics.
I have been following this program for a few weeks now and feel so much better for it. I have lost a little weight but I think that will continue. Easy to follow and backed up by current scientific research. Will continue.
Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle for Women :" A Unique Guide for Wellness, Weight Loss and Longevity using the power of the subconscious with Keto Diet" is an informative lifestyle and diet guide for anyone interested in trying this lifestyle. |The aim is to help you shed the pounds effortlessly, to age gracefully, and to feel amazing along the way. It is more than just a diet and uses a natural therapeutic approach to weight loss, wellness and longevity.
The book will teach you the science behind fasting and why it is key to controlling your weight and will help you unlock strategies and quick wins to adopt a fasting lifestyle for permanent life-changing results. This book will convince you of the importance of intermittent fasting and prove it works. It is a great place to gather all the information and inspiration you need to start your journey into the lifestyle.
Intermittent fasting, keto and low carb diets. I’ve usually got my “wary” hat on when reviewing self-help books - all too often they are bloated, repetitive and low on the information content.
I’ll have to hand it to Tya Fellous: This book is brimful with (pertinent) information, logically presented with links to research papers (rather than the usual “digests”). The point for adopting intermittent fasting is brilliantly made with many examples of its benefits. Easy to understand without being patronising, overzealous or dumbed-down. However, could not get on with the accent on the tape.
A book that is equally important for men!
Not any new information. Same old IF just recycled.
Thanks to publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
A very good introduction to intermittent fasting. We have been doing this for a little while now. I think that it works. At least in the way that when you eat you are actually hungry. We fast over night from the last time we ate until 16 hours later. So if we eat at 6pm we won't eat until 10am the next day. I also do the 5:2 diet. But do it more on the 4:3/3:4 side. When I eat 800 calories either 2/3/4 times a week and the rest of the time I can eat what I want. As a woman i can say that it actually helps at least with all the bloating and feeling terrible about your body.
As this is a topic I'm interested in, I requested this ARC. It was very informative, with great detail on how we can incorporate IF in our lives. A very well made guide, definitely one I'll be recommending!
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this ARC.
I always here about intermittent fasting from celebrities, friends, and colleagues. While I’m not sure it’s for me I do understand it’s extremely beneficial to some and I definitely had an interest in reading more about it, I think it is a great book to add to our health/diet section. It definitely answered my questions about what intermittent fasting* is all about. I learned a lot and I felt it was presented in an easy to understand format that had different plans and comprehensive information. It’s always important to consult with your dr. But if it is something you are considering this is a useful guide to start,
