This introductory book is a great way to get young folks interested in cats. It is packed with information and photos. You will learn the various different cat breeds and their origins. There are photos to help you identify them too. There is information about wild cats as well. The kitten section was my favorite! Lovely photos of cute and beautiful cats complement the text throughout the book. It's purrfect for cat lovers!

This is a book aimed primarily at children about cats, with some introductory text before each section and descriptions for the many photos.

Cats are fascinating creatures and their history goes back many centuries.

The first section deals with wild cats and then moves to their domestic relations, shorthairs and longhairs. The final sections deal with cat behaviour and kittens.

I enjoyed looking at the photos and learning more about the various breeds of cats in them. Some were already known to me but many were not. I didn't know, for instance, about munchkins. These are cats with short legs that actually looked quite cute; however, further reading has highlighted welfare concerns and health issues around this cat breed.

Clearly, it is a matter of taste as I didn't like the bat-eared or almost hairless cats very much, but there are plenty of people who do.

This book has helped me clarify the breeds to look at in more detail as I am looking to adopt one or two cats in the near future.

Great pictures! Tons of information. A perfect picture book for young children and an encyclopedia for older children and adults. Everyone in the house wanted to read it.

Cats by Julianna Photopoulos takes a look at beautiful felines around the world. Divided into broad chapters of Wildcats, Shorthair, Longhair, Behaviour, and Kittens. Each chapter is stuffed with gorgeous photos of various species and breeds of feline. Accompanying the photos is a plethora of information and trivia. Highly recommended, especially if you are a cat lover!

Princess Fuzzypants here: Who would not love a gorgeous book filled with gorgeous pictures of gorgeous cats? Not anybody that I know, that is for sure. And this book. Is just that. It is chock full of wonderful shots of some very handsome felines. There are lots of breeds that are represented in the book, even a couple that were new to me. What I liked the best though was how many Maine Coons there were in the book. The fact that we are so gentle and photogenic might have something to do with it. Of course, I might be biased. Naw. We just are.

As a devoted cat servant to my three furry overlords, I can't believe how much I enjoyed this and how informative it is.

The photos are downright breathtaking at some times and adorable at others, I can't count the number of times I said awww or literally sighed reading this book, it truly is a delight.

With insights and details that will enamor any cat lover and information that's given clearly this book is more than just pretty pictures.

I devoured this book in a day and found myself thinking about all I learned, one of my cats is part Norwegian Forrest Cat and I'm always looking for information on bigger long-haired cats.

Really cute photos. I loved seeing cats that I don't normally see in these kinds of books. It talks about Wild Cats, Breeds of domesticated cats, Behavior. Tons of interesting information.

This was a lot less interesting than I had expected. I think you'd have to *really* be a cat enthusiast (and in particular, a cat breed enthusiast) to get much out of it besides the photos.

The photos are very nice. Each photo is of a different breed of cat and is accompanied with a short paragraph of text describing the main features of the breed, where it was first discovered/created, and when. The text itself is excruciatingly boring.

Kiddo, who is currently very into cats, listened intently at first during each of the several nights we read this as a bedtime story (his choice), but even his eyes drooped fairly quickly. I found it to be one of the most boring books I've ever read. The things we do for our kids lol. As something to put my kiddo to sleep, it was quite effective.

I think if you looked at it as a coffee table photo book to idly flip through and less like an informative/interesting book to sit and read it would be more enjoyable.

Kittens are almost always so sweet, cute and mischievously active, keeping most people entertained - and then they grow up into mature cats. That last phrase might have a slightly negative undertone to it but cats with their independant behavior are not for everyone.

Nevertheless this great presentation of so many different breeds of cats is simply marvelous. Perhaps, even able to 'win' naysayers over to the 'cat club'. The great photo shoot illustrations of more breeds than I ever knew existed are revealed in this intriguing collection.

In my opinion, the short but sweet write-ups combined with their respective pictures would make this a great coffeetable centerpiece and become the topic of many a conversation. It would be easy to pick up, leaf through at leisure, and/or put down after even a brief 'foray' among its pages. I believe this book will delight many a viewer no matter the age group or feeling towards cats.

What separates this book from other books on Cats are the pictures of all of the different breeds in the world with a name/description for all of them. The photography is beautiful. I also enjoyed all of the cat facts sprinkled throughout. I thank Netgalley and Amber Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book was both informative and cute (I loved the cat photos that were included). It was written in a clear and concise manner, but I wish the photos were better quality to look at digitally. Other than that, I enjoyed reading this book and learning all about cats while looking at the cute photos.

Anyone who loves animals - and especially cats - will love this book. It's full of information on all kinds of cats from house cats to big endangered wild cats. The pictures are wonderful and the information is interesting.

This is such a fun, informational book for any cat loving kid! My daughter is a huge fan of both cats, and this book! This book has beautiful photography and a lot of great information that would be great in any classroom, home, or public library! It also would make an excellent gift!

Beautiful illustrations with interesting facts make Cats worth checking out. While there wasn’t any earth shattering facts nor any self-help suggestions, the pictures alone were quite eye catching. If you aren’t a cat lover, you may not appreciate this book, but if you are, you will only be ready to get MORE cats.
