I enjoy reading horror anthologies, and my itch was scratched perfectly with Queer Little Nightmares. This book features several short stories and works of art from a series of LGBTQ+ contributors illuminating monstrous fiction's horrors and obscene realities. Initially, this book was published under the Arsenal Pulp press and hit shelves in October 2022. Still, ECW Press is re-releasing it in an audiobook format on March 30, 2023, and I'm so eager for more horror-fanatic pals to jump into this one.
I am so thankful to both Arsenal Pulp Press, ECW Press, David Ly, and NetGalley for granting me a physical copy and an audiobook version of this absolute gem before it's re-release date.
A delightful series of queer horror poems and short stories. They range from sweet to spooky, disturbing to tragically romantic! Absolutely worth a read or a listen.
I requested this one because it might be an upcoming title I would like to review on my Youtube Channel. However, after reading the first several chapters I have determined that this book does not suit my tastes. So I decided to DNF this one.
As with most short story collections there are hits and misses, but I enjoyed most of the stories and poems; and their themes. Audiobook was great.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Most of these stories felt incomplete and they didn't really follow any sort of plot. There were a couple that were ok, but that's it.
