What's not love about a picture book about a dog with a secret and the kids he takes on the adventure with him.
Thank you to NetGalley and publishers for the ecopy of Captain's Little Secret.
The illustrations in this children's book were great and the colours were vivid and captivating. Unfortunately the story didn't engage as well as the illustrations, which was a shame.
I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
Captain, a pug, loves to spin, but only for Tiffany. One day her grandma and friend see him.
The story is very simplistic, and could really use some work, however, the pictures are cute and entertaining. The only reason I rated the book so highly is because of the illustrations. The way it is laid out, with a pre-reader, you could tell a much more entertaining story to go with the illustrations.
A charming and entertaining children's book. The story is full of humor and heart, and the characters are lovable and relatable.
A charming children's book that will captivate young readers. The story follows the adventures of Captain, a lovable dog who has a fun little secret. But when Michael and Grandma Nini discover the secret, they can't help but want to join in on the fun. With its delightful illustrations and engaging storyline, this book is sure to be a hit with children and adults alike.
Fun and brightly illustrated book with a lacking storyline. I would recommend for the illustrations but the story was not my favorite.
Thanks to Netgalley for this ebook.
What a darling story! This will be appealing to any family wishing to adopt or take care of a dog. The lessons learned here are that children’s and dogs can be good friends. I loved the illustrations as well! Congrats to the author for a sweet read. I was going to recommend this book for any child learning to read, but some words might be too big for small kids (moderator, etc.). But overall, I loved it!
