Cellan and Honour meet in the Hamptons. Full of romance and deliberate bad jokes and they fall for each other. An entertaining read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

Isabelle is a master storyteller and I love her books. There's always just enough drama, secrets love and romance to keep the reader engaged. They are filled with great characters and are perfect escapism.

In this book we meet Honor who wants to be a writer. But with too many high expectations from her father an ex boyfriend who gave up on her and her family. Her self esteem is really low and she never feels like she is good enough and that she would never impress anyone enough if she was to follow her dream.

But the want of making her dreams come true has never disappeared and so when she is invited to spend the summer in the Hamptons she thinks that it has to be the perfect setting for making her dreams come true and she just knows that the story will come pouring out of her as soon as she arrives.

So off Honor sets as soon as she gets there she meets the perfect leading man for her story, however the romance doesn't just flow on the story in the book but also in real life too. But will writing a book about what is happening in real life. Make her real life happily ever after not happen? ..... Well you'll just have to read it to find out.

This was a fabulous escapist read set in the glamorous Hamptons. Honor visits the father who has little to do with her every year in the hope she’ll one day make him proud. He’s a highly successful author and she’s eager to get published herself but he’s very derogatory about her writing style and genre of romance. When she unexpectedly befriends a famous actor she finds herself winning her fathers rare approval but she’s no idea at what cost.

This had a brilliant character in down to earth but incredibly insecure Honor along with a mix of characters that I loved and others I could truly dislike. The setting was gorgeous and the unlikely plot was the epitome of romance books and why they deserve far more credit than they get. Fabulously written this is a fantastic summer read as you would expect from Isabelle Broom. 9/10
