The Secret Life of Oceans is a non-fiction children’s book about the oceanic world and its numerous inhabitants. Not only is it visually aesthetically pleasing with vibrant colors and lovely illustrations, but it is also very informative with tons of educational details to help raise awareness among the younger generation about nature and the need to protect it. It is even peppered with tales and folklore stories to make it even more entertaining for both adults and children alike.

This was such a cute children's book. I really enjoyed the facts that they had in the book. I thought that they were new and fresh and perfect for the age group. I also liked the I spy games they had on most of the pages. There were a few words that I thought my be tough for young kids to understand but overall it was well geared for children. I loved this fresh take on a ocean book for kids!
Thanks Happy Yak publishing and NetGalley for an ARC copy. All thoughts are my own!
5 Stars
This is a really cool unique book that does a great job educating kids about the ocean life while keeping them engaged. My favorite part of this book is how its organized. That there are pages discussing the sea life and has thought provoking but difficult questions for littles. Then after each section there is a cultural folk tale that is in relation to the sea or ocean. There are multiple two page stories throughout the book from different regions of the world.
The illustration was beautifully done too. They have these gorgeous realistic details. I really loved the illustrations in each of the folk tales too.
I would highly recommend this to any library or school to have on their shelves. This also would just be a ton of fun to own in a personal collection that you could go at your own pace with kids. It would be easily re-readable getting many hours of enjoyment from it.
This is perfect for preschool and elementary aged kids. Illustrations are a bit geared to younger readers.

The secret lives living in the ocean! And now it’s not so secretive when we read this amazing colourful book!
The book has the best informative illustrations and short descriptions starting from the life of turtles to the stories surrounding the oceans and its life forms. There are interactive fun activities and simple exercises in each chapter which I really appreciate. From the smallest to the biggest life forms, this book covers it all for the young readers.
