This was not my favorite.

I understand the message and its importance, but it was too clunky and dense for kids to really grab hold of it and understand what it was trying to say. They will check out so fast by page 3. They would not want to follow along. I barely wanted to.

Great message, not so great delivery.

While I think this is a fantastic idea/concept for a book....this book is not easy to read & not very child friendly.

I understand it's not a final copy, but the wording is stilted & there are an excessive amount of grammar issues.

Picture books geared towards kids should have something relatable...and I believe having a book with mostly adults (especially the main characters) in it is hard for kids to get into and/or apply to their lives. As well as the fact that the men are trying to check into the hotel...again, not something kids would do.

Thank you to Netgalley & the Publisher for the ARC. I was able to preview this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I really wanted to like this book; it is aimed at children, it has plenty of good pictures, and it contains a moral message. However, it did not reverberate with me.

It's a story about three men who arrive at a hotel. The illustrations are the best part of the book - each person is drawn distinctively, and the entire story could be best told entirely by interpreting the pictures.

This is clearly a first-draft, and needs grammar review. I felt that the names of the men were distractingly simplistic. The moral message was well-intentioned - but the solution and outcome of the story were not realistic. Bullying is a complex behaviour pattern, and it is misleading to teach that it can be overcome so easily and that rewards will be given to those who are helpful. However, the book does have value by stimulating discussion of bullying.

I would read this with youngsters - but I would ask them to ignore the words and tell me the story, based only on the illustrations.

"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Although the message was a good one, I didn't feel as though it had enough to grab a child's attention. I can however think of many adults who are in need of this boom and would be more appreciative of the beautiful artwork.

This engaging story is easy for kids to understand, and the lessons it teaches about confidence and resilience are valuable and important. The characters are relatable, and their interactions with each other and the hotel staff provide plenty of opportunities for teachable moments. My only hesitation is that all of the characters are adults and I would have liked to see some children in the story.

If you're worried about your child's safety and happiness, The Madison Hotel is a must-read. This engaging children's book teaches valuable lessons on how to handle bullies and build the resilience kids need to overcome their challenges. Follow three men as they arrive at the Madison Hotel with different attitudes, interact with the staff and each other, and face the consequences of their actions. The perfect tool to empower your child and help them regain control of their own happiness.

While this book is still in it's review phase, I hope more editing can be done before true publication. Depending on the age of the reader and the audience I think this book should be more concise and the pictures reflect more of the text so that it can be paired down to the essentials.
that being said it is a good concept, treating others how you would like to be treated and the rewards for not making trouble when you don't need to. But the reward needs to be more intrinsic. There wont always be an upgrade or free stuff for doing the right thing and we shouldn't be teaching kids to expect that there will be a tangible reward for behaving like a polite responsible human being.
