I reallt enjoyed this book, love the writing style and had a good balance of descriptions and dialogue where dialogue can sometimes be overwhelmed by world building in the fantasy genre. The start of the book was strong but I felt that the. transition in dawsyn and ryons relationship was too quick and unrealistic, their attraction to each other is obvious but the move to love is rushed doesn't feel genuine. The pacing of the story is mostly consistent but I honestly wish it was stretched longer to get a better insight into the character’s personalities and the magic system. When reading a fantasy series I like to see many interesting characters which I could imagine becoming important in future books but I didnt feel that way with this book. I can see how the next book will follow on but as of right now I dont see the beginning of any new story lines to expand the depth of the series. Still the book kept me hooked and I finished it in one day showing the quality of writing. I will be eagerly awaiting the release of chasm.

I have so far read the sample of 2 chapters and I was pleasantly surprised!
Think 'Hunger Games' mixed with a little bit of 'Their Champion' (just the type of protagonist and world-building)

MC is a strong woman (Bleh- I hate when people lead with that, but here it's true), willing to fight for her right to survive, and her life doesn't seem easy. While the trauma has only been lightly brushed over, it's there.

Cons: short chapters where you're wanting more. While the writing is good, something is lacking... I'm holding hope that this is simply to set the tone of her life and will become 'more' as her story does because I am so far intrigued.

this book only had the first chapter which makes it obviously hard to review. i will say the description and the chapter i read does make this book sound very interesting but once again, i can’t really review. i’ll give this 5 stars because it definitely makes the book sound super exciting and something i’d want to read.

I really enjoyed this sampler. The story and the world building are great and start really strong. I also really enjoyed reading these characters and I can’t wait to see where this series goes!

I've only read two chapters, but we are thrown into the world that is very vivid. We also get to know quite a lot about our main character. The worldbuilding seems pretty unique and I'm excited to add this book to my TBR.

A great sampler of this book which has me wanting to read the rest! Looking forward to getting a copy of this - reminds me of the hunger games which I absolutely loved.

A great start! Gripping from the very beginning. I can't wait to read the rest to find out what happens to Dawsyn.

As a sampler this would definitely hook someone in, myself though not so much unfortunately. I didn't like the third person in past tense and the sex scene right at the beginning doesn't do it for me either, did that need to happen? I don't mind fast paced but that was far too fast for me. I am intrigued by the ledge though and the premise and it's one I might pick up at a later date based on that. The writing kept me hooked as it easily followed on and made me want to keep going.

This is a small sample of this book and honestly I was very curious to see what happens in the whole plot line. It is only the firsts chapters but it's enough to get you into the story and will want to make you buy the book.

This copy was only a chapter or two of the book, something I didn’t realize at first. Either way, it’s a good idea for a storyline but I could tell from the short preview that it still needs work. Scenes need to be built up to in a more thorough way and some parts need to be moved to other places. I liked the idea and am curious about the rest of the book but as it is, I probably will be stuck on the parts that still need fixing, so I’ll probably not read it.

I read the first two chapters of Ledge and was totally hooked. So far, the story was past paced, gripping and unlike anything I have ever read before.

I have downloaded the complete book on my Kindle and will write a full review on Goodreads once I have finished it.

The sampler itself is intriguing, i just wish that the i can get more chapter, like maybe around 4-5 chapters to finally get a grasp whether i will enjoy the book or not.
