I DNFed this book and struggled to decide what kind of recommendation to give it. It is poetically written and it has breathtakingly grand ideas. If you are into "traditional hard science fiction" and willing to skip character and plot development for some imaginative exposition, you may like this book. For me, what I considered to be a great number of interesting ideas, were summarized all too briefly and distantly (though well) while a lot of page space was taken up by some repetitive first person narrations. An editor should have been able to reduce the book by a third if not half. In the end I ran out of patience for this book. If you have the time, if you don't mind heavy exposition and are ok with skipping pages when needed, the book is worth a look.

A thought-provoking and introspective work of philosophical and hard science fiction. The novel explores the question of what would happen if the entire human race were stripped of its free will and forced to journey through space until the end of time. As the universe decays around them, humanity must grapple with their fate and the meaning of their existence. Through vivid storytelling and a deep understanding of both science and philosophy, the author takes readers on a journey through the cosmos that will challenge their beliefs and leave them pondering the nature of reality.
