WHEN DOUBT CREEPS IN, Book Six in the Harry Bronson Mystery Series is the first book I have read, if memory serves, by L.C. Hayden.
I am often leery when it comes to diving headfirst into a book that is set towards the middle or the end of a series, conjuring up questions like: What have I missed up to this point? Is it pertinent to my understanding to read them in order?
I can honestly say, after reading this book, that I preferred to go into it completely unaware of the characters and their back story, especially when questionable doubt of one’s innocence or guilt jockeyed for poll position in the forefront of my mind, which served nicely to amp up the tension in the first half of the book.
Though how the second half of the book played out felt a little meh in parts, overall, I enjoyed the story and look forward to diving into Book One, WHY CASEY HAD TO DIE.
Also, I absolutely love Bronson’s dog, Honey—More, Please!
Thank you, NetGalley and Angel’s Trumpet Press, for providing me with an eBook of WHEN DOUBT CREEPS IN at the request of an honest review.
This book is a good detective book that has murder, mystery, mobsters, twists and turns, intrigue as to who did it just a good old fashion book with good characters and a good storyline.
Retired police detective Harry Bronson tries to discover the truth about his former partner Mike Hoover's possible involvement in criminal activities in Brian Hayden's book "When Doubt Creeps In." Bronson investigates the heinous crimes that are taking place as he navigates the shady underbelly of New Mexico.
Hayden's has a good style of writing, and its a very engaging red.
