I am not entirely sure what I just read. Dinosaurs exist again thanks to scientific DNA and live among humans. The female main character finds an allosaurus in her barn that she wants to keep safe. Her father tries to shoot it, accidentally shoots her instead and then she and the allosaurus run away together.
There's a commune of women and dinosaurs but they leave that and then she saves Big Al from the police. She says, "I did miss my left arm." Oh because instead of medical treatment, she let the allosaurus bite it off and eat it after her dad shot her.
This one was quite the journey even in the very few pages.
Big Al was everything she was lusting for... a sexy bad boy carnosaur from the wrong side of the food chain. Would their forbidden love tear her family-- or her flesh-- apart? Join Tanis and Big Al on an erotic saurian odyssey guaranteed to tease and titillate on a Jurassic scale...
To start with, I am a monster romance reader, so I didn't think I'd be shocked, but this dino is 10 ft tall! hahaha, The logistics of steamy scenes, were interesting, to say the least. There were some cringey moments but it was fun.
I just couldn’t. I was intrigued into Dino smut after reading alien smut. I liked it wasn’t very long, but I couldn’t finish it. The writing was not very good. Too fast paced. The story was just so fragmented. It read like bad fan fiction.
It was definitely something! Their love story was kinda cute, and I enjoyed the ending. But the writing was kinda bad. It could definitely use a lot of polishing and editing. It seemed all jumbled and all over the place.
Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer; Dinosaur Erotica by Lola Faust was..AMAZING. Need more dino porn. I look forward to reading more from this author and was so glad I received and ARC of this!
Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer offers a unique premise that certainly grabs attention. However, while it's a quick and simple read, it falls short of delivering a truly good reading experience.
Honestly, I have no idea why I'm still reading these xD They're enjoyable as a silly and fun bit of erotica that doesn't take it self seriously at all.
This book is completely random. You get exactly what it says on the tin - there are no surprises here, so hopefully nobody will pick this up expecting a 5 star page turner.
It is funny in places, but not as I expected. It’s clearly written to get you to double take, raise eyebrows and buy it on a whim to see how bad it can be.
⭐️⭐️.5 (purely for creativity)
TT did it’s job in influencing me to read this (Bailey!).
I’m not even mad about what I read, the title & TWs should have been enough.
If you’re into serious literature, this is NOT for you.
However if you want to experience something completely ‘out there’ (more so than blue aliens) go for it!
(Tally how many times you say “wtf”, dare ya!)
Like Faust's other titles, this is a book full of prehistoric erotica. It's silly, it's zany, it's random. What the cover says and shows? That's exactly what it is. It's a wild read that I can only recommend to readers who already like this kind of thing. I was curious about the dinosaur elements and uniqueness of this title, but ultimately, it wasn't as enjoyable as I"d hoped.
Tanis was a country girl that found herself defending a Dino named Big AL. When her father caught onto their relationship they were forced to flee. On the run their relationship was tested. Will their forbidden love be able to conquer all?
I absolutely loved the world building in this story. Faust takes us on a crazy ride of life if we had dinos that could communicate and fall in love. There are some definate dark moments as dinos are carnivores and require a lot of food. Tanis and Big Al.have one heck of an adventure but to see if they get their HEA you'll have to join them by reading Wet Hot Allosaurus.
I rated this fantasy romance 5 out of 5 stars. There is an interesting realistic tone that explains things In manner that isn't to far fetched. There is plenty of spice. Who knew Dino lust could be so HOT? If you love exciting romances with couples trying to beat the odds this book is a must read!
2.5 stars, rounded up
Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a wild ride but I had a great time reading this novella. It's completely ridiculous and you definitely shouldn't expect much from it, but it made me laugh. And the Alberta references were actually super spot on. The one about Shoppers Drug Mart made me snort with laughter.
Lola Faust writes weird books but her writing style is actually really easy to digest and I love her writing voice. I'll definitely be reading the other books she has out when I'm looking for a pick-me-up!
This online book club sensation did not disappoint! I actually requested this on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised. I will recommend to all my monster romance loving friends.
This was a really weird quick book. Definitely not my cup of tea although some might like it. The writing wasn't terrible just the the plot was not my usual.
This was a really unique read. It was fast paced and entertaining. Not my cup of tea, but definitely drinkable.
I read this out of pure curiosity and it was so much fun. I didn’t go in expecting much but a good time. I just needed to know how Dino smut was. I was not disappointed. This was a good time. This is definitely a snack guilty pleasure book.
I read this out of pure curiosity and as I was reading it I don't know exactly how I felt. It was entertaining, but I don't know if it is my genre.

Should I read in order?
This is a stand alone novel.
Basic plot:
Tanis loves dinosaurs and can’t wait to escape the farm and her abusive father. Big Al can bring all her dreams to reality...
Give this a try if you want:
- a contemporary-ish/fantasy world where humans and dinos coexist
- dinosaur/human pairing
- shorter novel
- you’re okay with every content warning
- you can’t wait to read phrases like “Big Al’s cylinder of love” and “meaty sauna of his breath”
- medium to high steam – there’s plenty of scenes in a short novel but they are short, not developed and not as explicit as I thought they’d be
Ages:
- Heroine is 17/18
My thoughts:
I am all for weird stuff but this one was too much for me. The amount of blood making and licking. The plot is like a run on story without closure on so many aspects. I didn’t care about either character. The writing just didn’t grab me.
Oh My God! I am not sure what to say about this book. It was unexpected, but at the same time it should be expected based on the title of the book. It was something I do not think I will read again because the premises feels wrong, I tried it and well that's just about it. I tried it and I don't need to go down that avenue again, but I do know a few people that will be for this book and I will recommend the book to them. Just because it isn't up my alley doesn't mean I do not know people who would love it. It is short enough that if you are curious about dinos and humans getting together then give it a try.,
Woah. Lola Faust really dug into the Dino romance with this one. This is not a Dino shifter, no no! This is a full on Dino/human romance. Tanis is a young woman seeking escape from her family farm and Big Al is the key to her escape. Coincidentally she is also very attracted to him. “They’re on the lam, they’re on the run. Don’t give your name, you don’t have one” -Hadestown
There were a few ewwww moments- like when she gets shot in the arm by her father and he EATS HER ARM and it’s not a deal breaker…His rotten meat breath…working in the slaughterhouse as a cover for keeping him fed and safe and hidden…
Let’s be real, I read this for fun and it was that. It was a lot. I’m Dino romanced out for the moment, I have to say. This is more than enough for a while!
