I like the concept of this book. You can record your information regarding your planting cycle on various vegetables. I like how the planner is broken down by vegetable, which makes it easier to track your specific vegetable. Great for newbie or seasoned gardener.

I really like this! I always struggle with planning my garden so not only having a huge amount of information at my fingertips, I also had a planner to work with. This would be a wonderful aid in any gardeners life. The information was very good, with seed storage, times to seed and transplant, information on how to work around frost and general information on garden plants. I’m really looking forward to using this book more as I expand my garden. Would definitely recommend for any gardener.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a copy.

I really enjoyed reading this book. As an intermediate rather than an beginner gardener I felt that it was not necessarily for me but I thought that it would be essential for any beginner. I loved the planner aspect of the book as well as the helpful hints and tricks that were sprinkled throughout. It would be helpful however for this to include a couple of common ailments for popular crops so that the beginner gardener could learn to treat and recognise these. Overall this is the perfect present for any budding gardener!

This is a well written and easy to understand guide, useful for both the novice and more experienced gardener for either their home or allotment. As usual need to base the actual start of the year on your own location, Here in Scotland 4-6 weeks behind south of England, No book of this type can easily accommodate that, Most folk can work it out. A good help to increase the range of veg to grow

Useful combination of a growing guide and notebook

This is a handy little book. The first part provides info on how to grow the most popular veggies. The second part is for you to record your own plans and details about what you’re growing and how they grow in your garden. This knowledge can the. be applied in future years to help you decide what’s worth growing, which varieties to grow and how many of each to plant and when to give you the yield you need when you need it.

The book is written for an American audience but can be applied to Europe and some of the info may become more relevant as our climate warms up.

There are many gardening books covering a wider range of veggies and many gardening journals to make notes in but this is the first book that covers both aspects which makes it handy and useful to have in your pocket.

I was given this book from the author via netgalley only for the pleasure of reading and leaving an honest review should I choose to.

I’ve got mixed feelings about this one. Firstly it was really hard to use on an E-reader. Setting that aside, there was a lot about growing from seed, but very little about when to harvest/ how to know if it’s ready. I’m not a great veg grower so usually buy plug plants and grow on, but they often get wasted as I’m clueless on how to look after them! Sadly this book didn’t really help me. I think it’s better for more experienced gardeners.

An excellent diary/journal to record all your sowing and growing notes. The first part of the book gives details on when/how to sow veg such as beetroot, leeks and peppers. There is also space to include your own notes for each veg. The second part of the book provides additional space for your own crop records such as dates of seed sowing and harvesting as well as information on yield.

The Vegetable Garden Planner is both an informational book and a gardening journal, containing good tips about basic gardening and growing the most common vegetables. I like the format and think I would use the journal because it is a handy way to keep all your notes in one place (currently I have information scattered in a number of notebooks). Know that roughly 86 pages contain vegetable growing information with corresponding recording pages while the rest of the book has blank garden journal pages. I like the book but would have preferred more in depth vegetable growing information because I am a 30 year gardener. Having said that, I think this is an excellent book for beginning gardeners.

A great book, full of useful information and a way to track what’s what in your garden! Definitely one for those starting out with their vegetables or even what somewhere to log what’s to do when

A useful planner for growing vegetables for the beginner, with a good range of vegetables covered and plenty of space to record your own efforts. I would have liked more information about when to harvest the vegetables, with average growing times from seed to harvesting or, if this is too difficult as we garden in different locations, then how to spot when your crop is ready to harvest. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an advance review copy.

Would like more tips for seed organisation. Learning about how to find out where the light falls on there plot and some planning on water conservation or irrigation.

This planner was pretty much what I was looking for! As a beginner gardener, I’ve been starting to take notes about what I do each year and how it goes, as well as info about each vegetable and herb I plant. This book has it all and shows what kind of information is useful for you to improve the following year. The content for the different vegetables and seeds is great and I learned a lot from what I read. I wish there were more pages in more things to plant - and I would love a book like this on flowers!

I am brand new to gardening. Literally haven’t even put a vegetable in the ground yet. But recently my kids have expressed interest in gardening. So we got a handful of started vegetables, and I wanted a book to give me some easy step by step instructions. This was exactly that. The colors and illustrations are beautifully done, and everything was written down in a way a total newbie can understand. I love the pages to write down your own garden plans, and so many extra pages at the back! Will definitely be using this!

This planner is very neat and well-illustrated. I would certainly consider buying myself a copy when it releases. My only wish is that they spent more pages going over even more veggies and fruits to grow, or even more herbs. There are a lot of empty pages in the back.

As a teacher, wife, and a mother of two, I am always on the hunt for fun and educational books. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was interesting and not what I expected. This year I am moving to a different grade level and part of their standards is learning about plants. This book has inspired me to have a garden with my group of students next year. This is the perfect book for someone who is a beginner in gardening and wants to learn more as well as plan out their garden when they don’t know where to start.

The Vegetable Garden Planner was a nice beginner garden planner. It was full of easy to use planning and note taking pages that were sprinkled with good information to have on hand for the vegetables that they chose to include in the planner. They had a spot for putting research links, which I thought was convenient… especially if you use it as a digital planner. A little less convenient for a printed planner, but still a nice touch. The list of vegetables included was pretty extensive, but they also included blank pages for you to add any crops that weren’t included in the pre-made sheets! They also included a few pages for you to plot out your garden, which I found extremely helpful for plant placement and spacing! All in all a great beginner garden planner!

I really enjoyed reading through The Vegetable Garden Planner by Lynn Byczynski! Thank you to Storey Publishing and NetGalley for access to this ARC for my honest review.

I loved Byczynski's new take on the garden planner. I think it is a great idea to break down the journal by plant instead of by year. This format will make it so much easier for gardeners to track specific plants and find their tracking pages easily.

I also really liked the beautiful drawings of each plant as well as the helpful tips and tricks to be successful.

A helpful start up with info regarding best time of year to grow certain veg. Weather permitting in your country. Providing on where you stay in the world or what you like to eat this is a relatively easy book to start with. It has a good planner where you can step by step your way through.

I love to grow my own veggies but have sadly slacked off this past year or two. Sad really as the learning experience is great for the understanding value and the taste is fabulous.

Many thanks to tue Author, Netgalley and Storey Publishing for an ARC for my honest review

This is a really useful book. When I read this book, I realise very quickly that it is so much more than I had originally expected. It contains so much detail not so much that you would feel overwhelmed by it, but enough that even a real novice like myself might actually be able to successfully grow some vegetables or some herbs from seed in my garden.
I would recommend this book to anybody who was looking at either starting or improving the vegetable or herb garden.
My thanks to the author, the publisher and to NetGalley four, allowing me to read this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
