An addictive and well-crafted sequel with lovable characters and a stunning fantasy world. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series.
I was hoping this would be better than the first book, but it’s just as dry as the first one. I’ll try to keep this short, since I’m not overly invested in this book and I doubt I’ll continue the series: the prose wasn’t for me, the author has no understanding of how matriarchies actually work and it’s more of a reverse patriarchy that doesn’t fully grasp that either and I was in no way interested in the plot.
I’m sure this book will find its audience, but it certainly wasn’t me.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this arc.
I enjoyed Scorpica as it dealt with something new in a fantasy series: matriarchy and what happens if there's a girl drought.
This the second in this series and it was good even if it reminded me of Scorpica.
The author is a good storyteller and the world building is fascinating.
The plot kept me turning pages and I thoroughly enjoyed even if some less pages would make it more exciting.
Can't wait to read the next novel.
Recommended.
