I enjoyed Cleaner very much. The premise is interesting and the lack of detail about anyone in the book add to the sense of isolation the cleaner feels as she scurried around a trendy start-up at night cleaning and meddling in the office workers lives in both silly and serious ways.
We never understand why she is lonely or why she makes up personalities and relationships from the debris of strangers lives but her efforts to help and make a difference largely go unnoticed.
There are lots of funny bits in the book - it is both witty and extremely incisive. There are also some terribly sad parts. It’s a book that will made me think about it for some time after i had finished reading it.

What an entertaining and humorous book! The night cleaner has a nick-name for the occupants of the office desks that she cleans but who she has never met. The job in her eyes is not merely to clean but to help in their presumed lives by either taking, giving or transferring items between them and she knows that her help is so important. She even books onto their computers!
A great read and it was very easy to imagine in one's mind her actions and her thoughts behind them as she did her life's work!
My thanks to NetGally and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.
