I thought that this book was a great idea and I liked the different weather which gave the beach different views and moods from sunny to stormy, moonlit to sunset and the changes that brought along.
I read the book with my 5 year old daughter and whilst she did enjoy it, she didn’t ask to read it again when I offered at a later date, the first time was enough for her, she is a good reader and is ahead for her age so she was possibly out of the age range as she is reading in school at age 8.
It is 3.5 stars from me for this one, rounded up to 4 stars for Goodreads and Amazon – highly recommended!
I chose this book because I grew up by the ocean and now live in a landlocked state and I still miss the beach every day. But I loved this book for more than my own nostalgia. This is the kind of book I look for to use in my kindergarten classroom with bold pictures that are easy to tell a story for even when my kids can't read yet. Plus I *heart* the beach! I will be getting this for my classroom!
This is a great little book for little ones.
It covers the weather conditions on the beach, when it’s sunny and so much fun and what you can see clearly, to stormy weather to midnight stars and waving trees in the wind.
I think any child would love this and the adult/parents can open a great conversation.
The only thing I personally didn’t like were the faceless people in the illustrations to a child, would they be a little perplexed or scary? Hence my 4* and not 5*
This is a beautiful little book about the beach! Children love the beach. The illustrations are simple and beautiful. This can also be an early reader book. Recommended.
A heartwarming children's picture book that captures the beauty and wonder of the beach. The story follows a young boy and his experiences at different beaches, each with its own unique feel and activities. What I appreciate most about this book is how it captures the child's emotions and love for the beach. The illustrations are beautiful and capture the different moods and environments of each beach perfectly. This book is an excellent way to introduce children to the joys of the beach, and it's sure to inspire a sense of wonder and excitement in any young reader.
I really liked all the different parts of the beach. The no faces on the illustrations were weird to me and made me not enjoy the book as much.
A charming children's picture book that follows a young boy and his experiences at the beach. The story is divided into different sections, each exploring the different moods and emotions of Morning Beach, Sunny Beach, Cloudy Beach, Stormy Beach, Sunset Beach, and Moonlit Beach. Through the eyes of the young boy, readers get a sense of the different activities and environments that each beach provides. This book captures the child's love for the beach and the unique experiences it offers.
Very cute children's book. I look forward to sharing it with young readers at one of our book readings.
I love any book that involves the beach and this was no exception. I read this with my grandchildren and we talked about our trip to the beach and remembered what we did. I live the simpke, striking illustrations. Great book! Thanks #NetGalley
Cute children’s book that shows all of the different things this family experiences at the beach. The sounds, the scenery, what they eat and what they do. Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!
I received an ARC of this book inexchange for an honest review.
There is so much beginning science to be learned in this book for toddlers and preschoolers. The author covers topics like the weather, day and night, ocean waves, shadows, temperature and more. I found the art intriguing and original.
This book is a nice way to learn about the weather and beach for small children. But I didn't really like it that much, sadly.
