Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of This Christmas by Emma Heatherington in exchange for my honest review and feedback. This was such a warm, fuzzy Christmas story that I thoroughly enjoyed. Quick read that will make you sad to finish it as it's that good.

Really fun and light read, perfect for the holiday season. I enjoyed Emma's writing and will be reading more of her work. Would recommend to friends and family during the holidays and I love the cover!

A lovely feel good Christmas story about loss and love and how love can heal.
It makes you think that life is certainly too short to worry about how you should be acting and just do you and go for what feels right.
Wonderful setting, would love to book Granny Molly’s cottage for a little getaway.
Characters that were easy to love especially Max and George.
Perfect cosy Christmas read.

There is something I love about reading a Christmas book in January, it fills me with happiness and cosiness. This was no different and I fell in love with Heatherington's beautiful plot and characters. This is set in a very snowy Ireland which helped create the Christmas magic and festive vibes.
The plot is stunning, there is sadness, happiness, hope and love and I soaked all of it in. The characters are lovable, easy to get to know and I really took them to heart.
I just adored reading this.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House UK for an advance copy.

Definitely will be getting to more Emma's books this year

This book definitely got me into the Christmas spirit. I thought it would be like The Holiday, in ways it is - Its light, easy and lovely, leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy afterwards.
This is the first book of Emma Heatherington's that I have read and I will keep my eyes peeled for more.
Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC

Two strangers cross paths whilst travelling. They are both trying to escape Christmas for two different reasons. When they both arrive at the same holiday cottage for the Christmas break, they both realise it has been double booked. Due to the poor weather and car problems, they both end up staying at the cottage together. Polar opposites in character, their dogs have more chemistry! A lovely seasonal read with festive vibes but still a touching story. A beautiful setting to that is full of atmosphere. It is quite a slow story but definitely an escapist read. Perfect for fans of the movie - The Holiday.

Rose & Charlie are escaping to a Christmas of solitude for different reasons and a cosy cottage in Donegal seems like the perfect place. That is until they find out its been double booked and they end up both staying in the cottage, not wanting to create any sort of personal interaction they communicate via text and whiteboard.
Rose is still carrying a lot of mis placed guilt from 3 years ago and believes she deserves to be alone and unhappy at Christmas & Charlie has had his life upturned this year and is in a pit of wallowing.
With such a cosy, romantic setting it was only a matter of time before they cant help but run into each other and overtime they start to help each other heal.
I just felt so cosy and happy reading this book.

I really enjoyed this festive read, it was cosy, romantic and really Christmassy. I liked both the characters and also that the book wasn’t overly dramatic as it wasn’t necessary. It really got me into the Christmas spirit.

November is here and I’ve finally had the chance to read This Christmas.
It appealed to me straight away as a festive feel good read. I do love a forced proximity trope, and this delivered just that.
The two main characters are well written. Both facing their own struggles and escape for Christmas only to discover they are both booked into the same cottage. Cue chemistry!
I liked the author’s writing style but did find the pace of the book a little slow at times.
Overall, an enjoyable read. Recommended to those looking for a heartwarming Christmas based story.

As soon as you start this book until the very last sentence you are completely immersed. I read this book in one sitting on a day off and I’m so thankfully I did because I couldn’t put it down.

This book gave me all the cosy vibes, I loved the main characters and the chemistry within the storyline. But I do think it could have had more Christmas in it and it was slow sometimes. But I loved the forced proximity trope. Overall, a good Christmas read 😇

Rather formulaic in that you were pretty sure where this was going a la Katie fforde, but well done overall with believable central characters.

A quick cute romantic read to make you smile.
“This Christmas” was a very cute book about two very lost souls looking to forget their sadness in a remote Irish cottage all by their lonesome. A twist of fate has them double booked and sharing the cottage together. Charlie and Rose couldn’t be more different if they tried, yet they both have a love for love and family that seems to keep drawing them closer together. You must admit, there is definitely Christmas magic in this book! Mistletoe anyone?
Reason for 3 stars? Both characters are very amiable, however there wasn’t much depth to them. The emotions always seemed a bit far one way or the other- borderline extreme. There was a lot of repetition in the book as welll, saying the actions of the characters over and over made it hard to get through at times. There were also times where it was confusing to identify who’s voice we were reading it- even though each chapters has their name, it was easy to forget half way through. I had to go back and re-read certain passages because I wasn’t sure e of who was saying what to whom. Made it tedious to read.
The story overall is cute, the writing style the greatest but if you’re looking for a quick fix on romance then this could be for you.
ARC received from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I am a sucker for a good christmas read, and this gem didn't disappoint! Would highly recommend for anyone waanting some escapism!

Emma Heatherington's This Christmas delivers a heartwarming and charming holiday romance that is perfect for fans of festive love stories. With its engaging plot and delightful characters, this novel offers a refreshing spin on Christmas magic and connection.
Rose has avoided the festive season ever since a personal tragedy turned her favourite time of year into a painful reminder. Seeking solitude, she retreats to a remote cottage in Donegal, hoping to find peace away from the holiday hustle.
Charlie, on the other hand, is facing his first Christmas alone, struggling with the loneliness that this time of year often brings. In search of a quiet refuge, he too finds himself drawn to Seaview Cottage.
When Rose and Charlie arrive at the cottage, they discover that their holiday rental has been double-booked. What starts as an awkward misunderstanding quickly turns into an unexpected opportunity for companionship and healing.
Heatherington skillfully intertwines Rose and Charlie’s stories, creating a narrative that is both heartwarming and uplifting. Their evolving relationship is portrayed with genuine emotion, and the picturesque Donegal setting adds a magical touch to the story. The blend of romance, personal growth, and festive spirit makes this book a perfect read for the season.
This Christmas is a delightful reminder of the unexpected joys that can come from opening your heart and embracing new connections. If you're in the mood for a cosy, romantic tale with a touch of holiday charm, this novel is sure to warm your heart.

I really enjoyed the location setting for this book, it sounds idyllic. The story itself is exactly what one would expect from a Christmas romance. Very sweet and predictable but lovely and cosy to get you in the festive mood.

Rose and Charlie are both facing an emotional Christmas alone after suffering lose. They both retreat to Seaside Cottage with their dogs for a cozy Christmas where they can reflect and relax. Upon showing up, they realize there has been a misunderstanding and they realize the cottage is double booked. They decide to stay their together, but apart.
This was such a hard read, it took me over a month to get through this even though it’s not very long. This put me into a slump and kind of made me realize I love the idea of Christmas books, but almost never enjoy any. I wouldn’t say the writing is bad, but it’s very straight laced, very flat, cheesy and boring. This whole story is so unbelievably boring. This is such a slow burn, Rose and Charlie barely interact for most of the story. They are each facing their own emotions and spend most of the story in their heads trying to figure things out, it’s very repetitive. Of course, at the end, they get together and everything falls into place and changes at a crazy fast paced, in two days. It’s just so unrealistic and such a let down. I also don’t like how Charlie, a therapist, says he won’t let his daughter see him cry… like, what? I liked the parts of them interacting the most, the setting is lovely, dogs are cute and it’s nice to read about Christmas. It’s cozy. But still, it just was not for me at all. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free preview in exchange for an honest review.

This is a really sweet, well-written story, perfect for curling up with on a chilly evening.
I just love a snuggly cosy book

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable. The plot is one that is engaging and I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
