What a beautiful little book. my only issue with it is it really could’ve done with being longer. I love the little subplots within the story and wanted to have more of them. To say that this is a story about love would be oversimplification. Nevertheless, the ultimate outcome is people finding their true love in an unusual manner. Certain people start to hear music in their heads, and when the lyrics become audible, it becomes clear to them that they need to follow instructions and subsequently meet up with other people hearing the same music,
The story concentrates on one main group of friends, but There are a number of other subplots, throughout the book, which are also very engaging
The author manages to mix Magic and reality in a way that the magic feels totally believable and real . Themain story is ultra naturalistic. with the mystical elements interweaved so perfectly that it really does feel real The author has a beautiful poetic prose style and I found myself stopping many times to savour a particular beautiful phrase and highlight it on my kindle.
I really wanted to hear this song been great to have a link to a music version of the songs
I have not read any of the previous books by this author, but will now be a new fan
I would like I would recommend this book to those who enjoy subtle, magical reality. Similar books might be the time travellers, wife, or the books of David Nichols, such as cloud Atlas.

The authors, acknowledgements interventions of his own mental health issues. was brave and his thanks to his family were particularly beautiful

This was an interesting story, at times it was quite emotional. Although there was a lot going on, it felt a bit slow paced at times.

sadly i found this really hard to get into and i found it confusing working out who was who. would have been good for the author to introduce them at the start or maybe highlight more when you switched characters.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% my own.

2.5⭐️

The premise of this book had so much potential but it simply fell short.

The main characters didn’t feel like real people and it took far too long for them to actually meet. I liked their individual side stories and familial/friend relationships.

My biggest issue is the songs. They felt unnecessary and there were other ways to indicate that Shosh and Evan are soulmates. I wish their previous lives stories were developed more to allude to the ‘another life’ part of the book title.

I really wanted to love this book - with the premise being that two young people have found each other in countless lifetimes, forever destined to find one another, who wouldn't love it?

Sadly, it fell flat for me. I felt confused sometimes, and downright lost in other places. What could have been a great story just didn't work for me. Which is not to speak on Arnold's writing, because it was very good. I just struggled to connect with the story.

This is a beautiful book, but it takes some work to get into it. I spent the first few pages confused on who the characters were and how they related to each other. The main characters take a while to meet, but everything's building towards that momentous moment.

Once that moment was reach though, the rest of the novel was a dream to read

DNF’d at 19%.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this as an arc however I struggled enjoy the story itself.

I was expecting it to be a little faster with romance being the main aspect however, I felt that the story was extremely slow paced and more focused on the past rather than the future.

David is an incredible writer, but the story wasn’t for me.

A beautiful story of love and belonging. The prose was filled with sharp observations and I loved how these two connected again and again through a myriad of ways.

A truly original premise and fabulous storyline made this an incredibly engaging read.

A beautiful story about love that transverses time. Although this does get confusing at times I found it to be such a heart wrenching book with amazingly written characters. As a YA I felt this hits on a lot of deep, important topics especially with how Evan is mature for his age and looks after Will.

Overall this is an amazing book with really beautiful descriptions and depictions of love and soulmates. I think this will be a big hit.

I do love the concept of this book and I liked the alternating POV's. However, I was a little confused for the majority of this book and I did struggle through some parts.
The concept was good but the execution was wrong I feel.

This book has fantastic descriptive writing. We are following dual povs who both end up hearing a mysteryious singing voice. I felt connected to Evan
The way he looks after Will is amazing even at 17 year old.

Sosh and Evan find each other souls no matter what life they are on. Thought at times confusing it a good book.
