A honeymoon that turns to murder on its last night .Really enjoyed this book ,full of strange happenings when the honeymoon couples return home keeps the reader totally involved until the very end .

Ahh this was so good! It's been a long time since I had a good thriller on my hands that kept me guessing as to what was really going on. You get a sense of who the "bad guy" is pretty early on, but there is so much that isn't clear it makes you want to keep turning the page, and the end was filled with revelations and twists. I loved the multiple points of view from the same time. A great easy reading twisty novel!
Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It was the trip of a lifetime…before they found the body.
Two couples meet on their perfect honeymoons but it soon starts to spiral into a disaster for them all. A body is found after a freak storm on the island but this is just the beginning of their problems. When they are back home secrets from the island and their pasts are starting to unravel but exactly who do we believe?
Great book which I read in 24 hours. Full of twists and shorts chapters which made it an easy read. Thanks to @netgalley for the opportunity to read and this author is one I will definitely be watching out for in the future.

2 newly married couples on their honeymoons meet in the gorgeous setting of Bali…closely followed by a murder to rudely interrupt the All Inclusive.
As the story unfolds back home, all isn’t what it seems and you try to unravel events to figure which is character is the twisted one…or is there more than one!?! Keeps you guessing right up until the last page.
A great read for summer, and maybe a good survival guide when you strike up a friendship with the couple on the lounger next to you!

A quick, easy reading thriller. This didn't blow me away but The Honeymoon is a pretty solid mystery with plenty of suspense, twists and secrets to keep you hooked. I found the premise to be really interesting and I liked the idea that we follow the couples both from Bali and back to England. This is a great read for any thriller fans.

This was a really good book. Fantastic settings, really captured the essence of locations and I couldn't put it down. Finished it in two sittings. I felt the suspense throughout was well held and pace was great. Characters weren't cliche - I found them quite refreshing in this genre. A brilliant 'dark' debut from Kate Gray who I have also read as Katy Colins. Would read her next book.

A really enjoyable book that really does twist and turn in all sorts of ways. I couldn’t put it down and would recommend for a great holiday read.

I absolutley loved this! It starts out pretty straight forward but the TWISTS AND TURNS this takes! I couldn't put this down, a thrilling captivating read from start to finish! I literally didn't trust anyone in this book I was suspicious of all of them at one point, the ending had me shook!

Omg, omg! What a story! I just didn't know what was going to happen, I loved every twist and turn, and that ending! Wow. I had to finish it or I couldn't sleep wondering who it was, and what was going to happen next. And I was still left open mouthed. Thoroughly enjoyed it, really well written to keep us guessing and hooked. The characters were just brilliant. I appreciate getting to read an e-arc via netgalley, the author and publisher! Blew my mind!

Two happy couples, one dead body, lots of secrets and a honeymoon in Bali. This is a book to get your teeth stuck into.
There are numerous things happening in this story and throughout you think you know someone but then..... Who can you trust, who do you trust? This is a story full of twists and turns, mystery that surrounds the death of a man and how the couples react after the fact and when back at home.
And although there is a bit going on in this book it is easy to read and flows well. It is well paced, had the mystery, twists and turns, a bit dark and a very cleaver it is a book you can't put down. Really enjoyed this one.
Thank you NetGalley and Welbeck Publishing UK for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Two newlywed couples on their honeymoons, a dead body & a whole lot of guilty consciouses. What could go wrong? 👀 We follow Sophia & Mark, and Erin & Jamie as they become acquainted in Bali whilst celebrating both couples recent nuptials. Neither couple could imagine what was about to unfold! I’m so impressed by this debut from Kate! A wonderfully wicked whodunnit which really keeps you guessing throughout! Had me feeling like quite the detective whilst I kept tabs on who said what & who was where at all times. Great tension building moments & atmospheric scenes really helped immerse you into the story whilst never quite knowing who you could trust. I’m so excited for this to be released & I genuinely think it will go down a storm 👀⛈️ with bookstagrammers, booktokers & all thrill seekers alike! 4/5 stars from me ⭐️. Oh… be careful of those ring doorbells & security set ups. You never know who might be watching. 😉

This thriller is gripping and has more twists and turns than a proverbial roller coaster. The novel centres around two honeymooning couples whise paths cross whilst celebrating in Bali. What starts off as a holiday in paradise rapidly deteriorates when someone is found dead at the bottom of some cliffs and the death is not accidental. It gradually emerges that each couple know more than they are letting on. After leaving Bali and returning home their paths cross again but who is telling the truth about what happened on that fateful night? Read on......... Can't wait to read more from this talented author.

Kate Gray's "The Honeymoon" starts out with a seemingly straightforward plot but quickly takes unexpected turns that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. The story begins with two couples on their honeymoon in Bali, celebrating their newfound love and happiness. But when an altercation leads to the death of a British man, the couples find themselves in a dangerous situation that threatens to unravel everything they hold dear.
As the story unfolds, the reader is introduced to a cast of characters with hidden agendas and dark secrets. Each character's perspective is explored in depth, and as their pasts are revealed, the plot thickens and tensions rise. The former crime journalist Sophia, in particular, becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth about what happened in Bali, even if it means putting herself in danger.
What sets "The Honeymoon" apart from other thrillers is the way it keeps the reader guessing until the very end. The plot is full of twists and turns that will have readers constantly second-guessing their assumptions. Gray's writing is engaging and atmospheric, transporting the reader to the lush paradise of Bali and keeping the reader on the edge of their seat
Overall, "The Honeymoon" is a thrilling page-turner that will keep readers hooked from beginning to end. With a well-crafted plot and complex characters, this book is a must-read for fans of suspenseful fiction.

An interesting read, I actually read this within a day. The novel starts with a murder on holiday vibe and flows into a deeper psychological thriller when the newlyweds return to the UK and more secrets come to the surface.
Lots of twists and turns in this book and these reveal that no one in this story is innocent.

This thriller begins with an apparently predictable set of unfortunate events, and then takes off into fairly unexpected territory. Told from multiple points of view, characters who initially seem uncomplicated turn out to be anything but. By the end of the book, the reader is left feeling deeply suspicious of just about everyone!
The story begins with two couples from the UK, both honeymooning in the tropical paradise of Bali. Mark and Sophia, Jamie and Erin cross paths with each other shortly before leaving the island. On the last night of their stay, an altercation leads to the death of another British man, after which those involved seek to cover up what has happened.
While this incident is ostensibly at the heart of the story, it is actually what happens after the four return to Britain that lends this thriller its edge. It gradually becomes evident that each of these individuals is hiding some kind of secret, albeit some more heinous than others.
As a former crime journalist, Sophia in particular is unable to let go of the suspicion that things are not as straightforward as they seem. The problem is, her investigations are putting her in danger at a time when she can trust literally no-one. Not even her husband, Mark.
The suspense steps up as twist after twist emerges, making it clear that - no matter where the ultimate responsibility lies - no-one in this scenario is entirely innocent...

This is a sensational and atmospheric read. Stayed up til 1am keen to race to the finish and simply had to read this in one sitting. Totally absorbing and addictive, I got so drawn in from the very first few pages and this pace and tension was well maintained throughout.
I never knew who to trust and remained alert at all time. Razor sharp and deliciously twisty.
One of the best I've read in this genre for a while.

The Honeymoon by Kate Gray is a psychological thriller that keeps readers on edge from beginning to end. Gray's writing is crisp and engaging, and the novel is well-paced, with twists and turns that keep the reader hooked. The Honeymoon is a gripping and suspenseful thriller that will keep readers guessing until the very end. It is a testament to Gray's skill as a writer that she is able to keep the tension high and the surprises coming throughout the novel. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers, The Honeymoon is definitely worth a read.
This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

So not what I expected. Yes, two couples meet on the last day of their respective honeymoon in Bali. They go out together, a thunderstorm hits, they split for the night, something unexpected happens and everyone goes home.
Then there's the aftermath to deal with. Erin is plagued with guilt. Her husband Jamie plays it cool. Sophia's journalistic instincts tell her there is a story to be unearthed. Her husband Mark wants her to work less and is still worried because of incidents to do with Sophia's last story.
On the margins the plot is about the accident/murder that happened in Bali. The main core of the story, however, is set back in England where each of the four characters is hiding some secrets and struggling with life.
I didn't connect with the characters. The dialogues felt stilted and the pacing felt off to me. The whole story seemed convoluted with the lives and work of those four characters too easily slotting together. Just like in a soap opera that's been running for years. Which made the whole book very predictable for me, took out the psychological thriller element and made me skim most on the middle of the book.

This was well written and enjoyed the story! Loved the fact it was murder on holiday. The thrillers from the story were great too!

Good begining ,intriguing
Prittey Good ending just maybe tried too hard to keep evoking a oooh it’s her or him or them
Just became a bit pedestrian but over all ok
