Excellent read that kept me reading up late…just took 24 hours to read. Loved the story and premise of the book. Not sure I liked the characters but they were believable and made me enjoy the story even more.

Thanks to Netgalley & Welbeck Publishing UK for the ARC!
The premise to "The Honeymoon" sounds like many other domestic dramas that I've read or seen on TV, Two couples go on their honeymoon in Bali and then an 'unfortunate accident' occurs. *dun dun dun* However, once the vacation is ended, we follow the lives of the 2 couples & the aftermath of the Bali situation. I wasn't too crazy about the two perspectives (Sophia & Erin-the wives) though. It didn't really give us enough to really get invested in the characters. I think fans of domestic thrillers will enjoy this book. I can see this being a popular beach read this summer, and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

From its gripping opening to its breathtaking conclusion, this suspenseful journey leads you through a maze of secrets and suspense that will leave you stunned.

Another incredible thriller. Absolutely devoured this one! The first I had heard from this author and I will definitely be looking out for more !!!

I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. At one point I checked my house for noises as I was so engrossed in what was happening in the story. It was a very quick read because you are fully immersed in the story. I am in the minority because I didn’t love the ending, thinking it was quite predictable and had been building up to it. Other than that I loved it and will look for more by this author

A thoroughly enjoyable debut read by this author and I’m looking forward to the next.
Action packed with twists and turns from the start, the Characters that are well written with short chapters and a fast-paced storyline.
2 couples meet at their luxury resort nearing the end of their honeymoon in Bali. After a night out together an intense thunderstorm hits and the couple split to go their separate ways and the story continues with questions of what really happened that night after they left each other’s company.
Back home in England the couples reconnect, and it really is a thriller ride of who is telling the truth, and who was responsible for the death of a local man, found at the bottom of the cliffside steps. Each character seems to be playing mind games – but are they? Or are they just an innocent party caught up in the drama?
A great read which I recommend.

I was absolutely gripped by this book that is full of twists and turns and just a really immersive plot! Thank you to Netgalleyand the publisher for allowing me early access to this title

I was so excited to hear Katie was going to write something new and a thriller none the less! I love a good thriller and this debut from Kate Gray did not disappoint. I loved the build up, the slower pace before things started to unravel and rocket towards an ending. The multiple POV really worked, as it made the narration unreliable, I had no idea who to trust and my allegiance changed so many times. I can't wait to see what Kate does next.
Thank you for letting me read and review this title Kate and Netgalley!

This was a great read. Short chapters that I kept thinking "just one more", great plot, great characters with twists and turns. It kept me guessing to the end.

A psychological thriller about two newly wedded couples, who meet in Bali whilst on their honeymoons. They strike up a friendship, and on the last evening, head out for a meal together. They were having a great time until an incident occurs which marrs the end of the meal, and the couples go their separate ways for the remainder of the night. What happens next has long lasting effects upon all their lives, and all four people regret chosing Bali for their honeymoon.
This book had me guessing the outcome right up until the end, and I just couldn't put it down!
A great story full of mind games, and with a cast of well written characters. A1

I struggled with this book slightly. I couldn’t relate to any of the main characters and found it very repetitive.

A psychological thriller that is full of twists and turns.
This was the perfect holiday read. It pulled me in from the start and had me hooked until the end.

All in all an enjoyable thriller! The pacing was generally good, keeping me engaged from start to finish

I dunnot about this book, very much in the middle of the road for me, it was quite predictable and too many narrators and time spent on things that weren't relevant or did not move the plot along. did not connect with the characters or very much cared about them which is quite key when reading a novel like this...

The Honeymoon is a thriller that takes place during and after a honeymoon between a new couple. What unfolds afterwards will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I just couldn't put this book down. At no point during any of it did I know what would happen next. I enjoyed guessing what the next plot twist would be, but I was kept surprised through most of the book. The ending was satisfying, as I find this is sometimes lacking in other thrillers. I am planning on reading more by this author since discovering this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Welbeck Publishing for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Honeymoon is a great psychological thriller that I couldn't put down.
We start with two couples on their last night of their honeymoon both go different ways at the end of the night. Back home and each couple finds out a man was killed in the storm on the last night. Both have very different reasons to keep up to date with the proceedings for very different reasons.
I'm not going to go into the storyline of this book as I feel there are that many twists I will definitely spoil it for you. The characters were well developed and the storyline was very well written. Take it from me this is a decent read that you will definitely enjoy.
would like to thank Netgalley and Wellbeck Publishing UK for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

This novel grabs the reader from the beginning with its talke of two couples who meet on Honeymoon and decide to go to an expensive fancy restaurant on the last night of their break. By the end of the evening there is a dead man - wa he murdered or was it an accident. the couples are very different, there is Sophie and Mark and then Erin and Jamie. In the beautiful Bali there are also illegal gambling going on and everyone has a back story they don't want to share. the novel sped along with the short chapters and was the sort of book that you couldn't put down with its twists and turns. Without disclosing how it is resolved, the reader is literally on the edge of one's seat awiting the finale.

What an excellent twisty-turny read. There is so much more to this book than you'd expect.
Two couples meet on the last day of their honeymoon in idyllic Bali and decide to spend their last night together. By the end of the evening, a person has died, suspicions are rife and no one’s life will ever be the same again. As the plot unfolds you find out more and more about these four characters revealing shock after shock, until you've no idea who to believe and just when you think you've got it sussed, bang! a brilliant final twist.

Wow….if I would recommend one book for this year this would be it.
Two couples on honeymoon; an altercation with a man whilst they are enjoying a final meal. A man falls to his death and one couple are there. But who is responsible.
Tense, thriller. Things are not what they seem. You are drawn into the lives of both couples with secrets, and then a race to discover the truth. As the truth comes out, you are still left wondering, and then a perfect final twist.

There's something about Jamie that I found quite toxic - something that just niggled at me everytime he appeared in the story.
I felt sorry for Erin, constantly on her toes and quite obviously not happy in life. She clearly idolised and envied Sophia. But was also so desperate for her friendship.
Halfway though the book I started thinking it felt like another holiday murder thriller. But...along came 2 massive twists that I was not expecting which turned the story on its head. In the end I loved the book and I can't wait to see what the author does next!.
