Gary was having troubles in his math class. Making terrible grades. After failing, he asked friends what he could do. With mixed advise nothing helped until a wise friend told him how a tutor could help. Gary learns asking an adult for help on a subject that he was able to learn and accomplish. Maybe you have a student that has trouble getting the grade. This book will encourage them on the next step to make a positive impact. Doing well in school helps with a child mental well being and being a well rounded adult.
A special thank you to Brian Edwards and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
The book follows Gary who fails a math class and doesn't know what to do to pass his next class. He consults his friends who have quite the advice. He even lies about his challenge to his mom and teacher . I loved the lessons the book detailed. Every parent and educator should read this book and encourage the little ones to do the same . I loved it for the lesson and the illustrations.
**Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this e-copy in exchange for an honest review**
Gary is upset that he is failing his math quizzes and tests. Instead of telling his teacher and mother that he is struggling, he decides to ask his friends what to do, and they give him really bad advice. One of his friends, Moss, does tell him that his mom got him a tutor, which inspires Gary to finally tell his mom what's been going on. Will the tutor be able to help Gary turn things around?
Asking for help can be difficult. Admitting to ourselves that we have failed or that we don't know the things we think we should can be a lot to deal with. It's okay to realize that sometimes we need more clarity or understanding, and we shouldn't be ashamed of that. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and math just happened to be Gary's weakness.

This inspirational children's book is about a young boy Gary, who is doing well on his math test. He gets advice from friends but that doesn't work. Will Gary get the advice he needs to pass his next math test? The illustrations are bright, detailed, and colorful. The lesson is don't be afraid to ask for help when you are struggling in school. Preservance is key. I recommend this book to school-age young boys and girls. I give this book four stars
Super cute book! I would love reading this with my son as it tells of the ability to fail but then get back up again! I love that the friends jump in to help! Super cute and heartwarming story!
A very well illustrated book along with a moral to the story which is such good advice.
Children sometimes turn to other children for advice, not always the best advice.
Loved it
