I just couldn't get into it. The author has worked in radio and stage and produced a book that could be a script for a play or a movie. There is a great deal of detail in setting up each scene, enough to be able to physically reproduce it and probably match what the author has in mind. The sentences are short but it feels like slogging through deep mud. There is some humor and action but it is also a bit depressing. Overall, just not something I could recommend.

I love the humor in the book bit I was not a big fan of how gritty the book was in a whole. It was fast paced but it didn't feel like there was a solution

Crime art set in 1970 Liverpool. Unusual characters, fisty cuffs and a shoot-out. Good read and surprising twists. Enjoyed the author's knowledge of the city and his humour.
