Pippa is an instant buy author for me. I always know I'll be laughing out loud and Not My Kind of Hero was no exception. I absolutely loved how she also wove in the mother/daughter connections into the story to really make it special.

I absolutely loved it!! Yet another Pippa book to adore! As expected, chock full of swoon, spice and sass! I cackled, I snort laughed, I fanned myself like crazy....none of which was surprising, haha! SO good and SO Pippa perfect!

Honestly can you really go wrong with a Pippa Grant romcom? Especially when it’s a small town single parent romance? No, no you really can’t.

Pippa Grant does it again in Not My Kind of Hero, bringing to life (that is in my mind) a charming and delightful small town and a hilarious dynamic of next door neighbors who get into one too many bickering matches that ultimately turn a bit more interesting 👀

Hilarious characters, romance that leaves you on the edge of your seat, a back and forth grumpy x sunshine clash, all the charms of a small town, sizzling tension, addicting banter and more make for one hell of a charming read! To say the least, I adored this one!

I have read another book by this author I think and I loved it but this one really wasn’t for me. It was too repetitive and confusing at times?
I couldn’t get into it and that ended up in also not caring about the characters or the romance.
I‘m sure it‘s a great book but not for me

This lighthearted romance offers a fun mix of humor, charm, and chemistry between the main characters. The witty banter and quirky situations make for an entertaining read, though the plot can be a bit predictable at times. Despite that, the relatable characters and feel-good moments make it a delightful escape for fans of romantic comedies.

“Clearly, I have a type. I like the guys who don’t like me.”

Same girl, same 😆

Maisey is a divorced, ex-reality star that wants a do over. Together with her teenage daughter Junie, move to small town, Hell’s Bell’s Wyoming where she inherited her late Uncle’s old hobby ranch. An interesting and quite hilarious meet cute with a wild animal leads to an eventful introduction to their tenant.

She didn’t expect, Flint Jackson, the guy who was helping her Uncle with the Ranch to be young, attractive and oh so grumpy!

And who doesn’t love a grumpy hero? I sure do and so does Maisey! 😆 😉 (for that reason alone I devoured this book in a day! ☺️)

“The man smells like a margarita without the tequila burn. Ironic, considering all he does is burn me.”

Flint, has his reservations when it comes to Maisey, first impressions and all that. If she is just like how she is her reality show with her ex, then she’s in for a big surprise moving to Wyoming.

Them living in a small town and the same land ( he rents the gatehouse at the Ranch) and Flint being Junie’s teacher it seems like they can’t get away from each other. And the more they spend time together the more they can’t help the attraction between them.

Pippa is great with her teenage characters and Junie is definitely one of them! Lots of emotions between the characters that will just make you fall in love with them even more.

If you love some slow burn goodness, small town romance with lots of laughter, interesting and meddling towns people, swoon, spice and everything nice then hurry up and read this book!!

"Not My Kind of Hero" by Pippa Grant is a delightful romp through humor, heart, and heroics. Grant's signature wit shines as she crafts a hilarious yet touching story of unlikely love between two captivating characters. The banter between the hero and heroine is electric, keeping the pages turning with laughter and anticipation. With a perfect blend of romance and comedy, Grant proves once again why she's a master of romantic comedy.

This was a super fun divorced single mother/grumpy teacher/tenant forbidden romance. I loved the chemistry between the two MCs, the quirky cast of a small town, the rural characters (animal AND human), and the SPICY scenes between the leads. Perfect for fans of Helena Hunting's The Player Next Door and good on audio narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Connor Crais (although the female narrator's sex scenes were a little too cringe/fake for me).

What do you get when you mix a not so cute-meet, a surly teenager, two stubborn adults and a cow? Apparently a lot of chaos, a lot of love and a lot of laughs!
.
When I was sent this arc I instantly knew I’d be in for a good time. If there’s one thing you can count on from Pippa Grant, it’s a book packed with the perfect blend of fast flowing writing, tongue in cheek humor, swoony sweet moments and a splash of spice. She’s the perfect palate cleanser, the kind of author who knows how to balance light, flirty and fun with the heavy and emotional in a way that always feels fresh and is always a joy to read!
.
The two main characters were complete opposites who started on the wrong foot in an incident involving a bear, a cow and a horse... It sounds like the start of a bad joke, but instead it was the start to their love story. They definitely struggled to stop assuming things about each other and having an angsty teen on top just added another level! But of course, that line between hate and love is so thin, and really, they never stood a chance.

If You’re a fan of:

A fun additional story for PG!!! Flint and Maisey's story was so easy to read and enjoy. The whole cast of characters, the shenanigans and all the romance. I just love the way the author makes everything so fun yet so sexy. Enjoyed it!

A feel good romance! Flint Jackson is rough around the edges but a good man, one deserving of Maisey! It’s a sweet and hilarious story of a single mom trying to find herself and to raise a teen girl and definitely not looking for love after her nasty divorce. The small town is amazing and really rally’s together to make Maisey and Juniper feel welcome. A laugh out loud read for sure!

Fabulous
Following a nasty divorce and a scandal, Maisey and her daughter Junie have fled to the small ranch in Wyoming her uncle left her in his will in a hope that they can rebuilt their relationship but things start to get complicated thanks to a bear named Earl and her neighbour Flint
I loved Maisey, she is a strong woman whose whole life now revolves around her daughter instead of her reality TV star ex husband and seeing their relationship change and develop was the highlight of the book to me. Flint is a harder character to get to know to start with, he saw Maisey on her ex’s reality home improvement show and thinks that she is the useless bimbo they portray her to be but as he starts to get to know her he resides that there is so much more to her than he realised
This book opens with Earl outside a window and Junie and Maisey stuck inside a building before Flint comes to help scare him away and I’m not going to lie, Earl the bear is one of my favourite characters. It’s because of him that so many things happen, that the characters come to realise the important people and things in their lives
I was sat in the garden when I started reading this book and was over half way through when I suddenly realised that I was getting sunburn so needed to go back in the house but it was a book that caught my attention so much that I lost track of time, that I kept telling myself one more chapter and then I’ll go in and I ended up so caught up in the story and invested in the characters that I didn’t want to stop reading

I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a second chance at romance with characters who will pull you in and a story that won’t let you go

3.5/⭐️
I really enjoyed this book, I feel like we get a lot of single dad trope but not much single mom so I felt like this was a nice change.
I loved Junie, she was funny, witty and very well showed the struggles of being a teenager while also caring about others. The slow burn between Maisey & Flint was amazing, but also the third act breakup felt very natural and not unnecessary like it can seem sometimes. I really enjoyed this book and I will definitely be checking out more of Pippas work!
P.S. GingerSnap was amazing 😂

The book revolves around Maisey, who, after sacrificing her dreams for her husband, faces betrayal and divorce. Focused on being the best mother to her daughter, Juniper, Maisey inherits a Wyoming ranch, determined not to be swayed by any man, especially the grumpy tenant, Flint. Flint, a teacher with a guarded past, finds his charm reserved for students until Maisey and her daughter break through his defenses, sparking an unexpected love story. Their initial clash in a peculiar incident leads to amusing misunderstandings. The narrative delves into emotions and relationships, highlighting the evolving bond between Maisey and June, as well as the slow-burning relationship between Maisey and Flint, both grappling with past hurts and misconceptions.

Not My Kind of Hero was fantastic!

Maisey is returning to Hell's Bell with her teenage daughter, Juniper, after her uncle passes away and her marriage has gone south. Maisey is determined to make this a home for herself and her daughter while she finishes high school, and also use this time to repair her relationship with her daughter (as she picked her up and moved her away). I thought everything with Maisey and her daughter was so well done. They fought, they cried, they laughed, they eventually worked through all the things.

Flint is a local teacher who currently resides on the property that Maisey now owns. We start with some tension as they don't see eye to eye on many things, but eventually we see sparks fly. This becomes especially complicated as Flint is Juniper's teacher. I really appreciated that Maisey had issues with this as no teenager wants their parent dating their teacher, and that Maisey and Flint were sensitve to Juniper's feelings.

The banter was fabulous and I couldn't have enjoyed my time more.
