Wow! Definitely Helen’s best work yet. I didn’t foresee any of the twists that this book had taken,
Never trust a camera, or a man that’s good with photoshop,
I was rooting for the protagonist the whole way through. I didn’t vibe with Adam, or Scott and I thought that Cora was too good to be true. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an honest review and a chance to read the arc.

Despite the eye-catching cover and some lovely scenes with Lucy's girls being bright and curious about their new spycam doorbell or being mischievous by flicking cereal at each other... this book wasn't for me. Unconvinced by the story with its flat characters who are accident-prone like Scott while doing DIY.,. some things being cliches which I won't share as not to spoil the plot.

It didn't live up to my expectations as I rated another book by the same author four stars. If you want to read a book by Helen Cooper I would suggest to read The Other Guest :)

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

This book was just ok for me. It sounded really good, but I feel like it dragged out. The suspense wasn't amazon; i found i could skip ahead 20% and really not have missed anything. The ending was a little shocking but a lot of it seemed to be just an average story.

Firstly I would like to thank Hodder and Stoughton and the author Helen Cooper for access to the couple in the photo.

The review I am going to make is an honest review regardless of the access I received for this book. It should be noted I was not paid for this review and ensure honesty in all my reviews.

Lucy and her husband are very close to their friends Cora and Scott and decided to buy a beach house together. A photo emerges of Scott with another woman (not as bad as it sounds!). But even weirder where is that woman now she has vanished… Lucy finds her life turning upside down as she looks for answers.

I really enjoyed this book but found it slow to start with. I would read more by Helen Cooper.
