This is a beautiful photo book full of nature photographs.

Gainly struggling to get the world's second largest continent into one book, this pretty guide touches on as much as it can, from the Egyptian pyramids to Soweto, and from the fragile holds on life that nature preserves offer to the thundering shores and sand dunes you might find elsewhere. Local markets, eco-tourism, slave relics – all are here, with just the right amount of captioning for the pictures and enough space to show it all off. It's not a perfect selection – the photos of markets might have been exciting once, and top-down drone shots don't always convey things as well as a woman's eye view at ground level, but this is tribute, guide, armchair travel book, and – in this initial A4 publication, at least – a suitable coffee table adornment. It certainly manages to pack in a lot the common or garden browser (such as me) might not ever have heard of, so is easily a four star book, if not really much more.

I did not get to read through this all the way because of the archive date. But the photos were really nice and what I did get to read the info was cool.

Beatiful pictures, the perfect book for an armchair traveller. Highly recommended.

Beautiful images and interesting texts make you want to go on a trip to Africa. Great coffee table book as a gift or for Africa lovers.

I jumped at the chance to learn more about Africa through Africa: From the Nile Delta to Table Mountain by Anne-Marie Bissada. This is another fantastic book that combines nature photos, with photos of people and their traditions, as well as cities and monuments and other man-made structures and it really paints a rather extensive picture of a vaste and impressive continent. Photos of the sphinx and pyramids in Giza stand in stark contrast with peaceful cobblestone streets of Gorée in Senegal. The panorama of the Nile as seen from the Cairo Tower in Egypt is breath-taking, as are the Sindou Peaks in Burkina Faso, the Bandiagara Cliff in Mali, Lake Nyasa at sunset and the Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe. Benin has its own "Venice" with houses on stilts and boats as the only form of transportation, Cape Cross in Namibia is home to one of the largest colonies of cape fur seals in the world and DR Congo has an active volcano named Mount Nyiragongo. My favourite photos are wildebeest crossing a river in Kenya, a very powerful image, flamingos and hippos chilling in a Kenyan lake, very peaceful, a stunning photo of Mount Kilimanjaro above the clouds at sunset and Lake Kariba at sunset.
I would highly recommend Africa to any and all (armchair) travellers.

I really love this book series and Africa didn't disappoint. Wonderful collection of photography and quick facts. Has me wanting to learn more about the different cultures, traditions and places.

A lovely photo coffee table book of the continent of Africa. The book is broken into continental sections of North, West, Central, East and Southern with not every country represented. The focus is diverse and includes animals, landscapes, beautiful mosques, beaches, cities, waterways and of course people. With 220 color photos this is perfect for an arm chair traveler. Each photo has a small identifying blurb but not detailed information. It is a photo book not a travel guide. This is the perfect gift for overs of Africa like my daughter who postponed her college graduation to do a study abroad where she got to camp in national parks and climb Mount Kilimanjaro. This coffee table photo book takes readers through regions across Africa highlighting nature, cities, ruins, and people. Of course Africa is giant so this book is not a comprehensive list of all there is to see in Africa. There were many countries that were not listed at all and some that got a larger section than others. I had the amazing opportunity to go to Tanzania a few years ago. I was one of those referenced who climbed Kilimanjaro but got altitude sickness and couldn't summit. I love that it included a few pictures from Ngorogoro Crater which is one of the most amazing places I have ever been.

The photographs in this book are incredible. They made me feel the heart of the country, I could almost hear the bustle of the markets and streets, smell the spices, the humidity of the jungle. What a wonderful insight to so many beautiful places in one diverse country!

Africa by Anne-Marie Bissada is both informative and beautiful. Stunning photography that captures the heart and essence from the various regions in Africa. You truly do get an insider’s view of all the places you would likely never get to go. Landscapes, people, animals, structures…all captured in vivid detail. I love the layout of the book as well as the explanations and captions along the way. I never get tired of travel photography and this book is an excellent example of why. It is fresh, insightful, and enjoyable.

I just love a good photography book and I do love Africa, so here we are, of course I had to get this book when I saw it on Netgalley. I was ready to travel to Africa, I wish I could go for real, but that is just not going to happen, so bring me to the continent with gorgeous images!

In this book we get 22() pages full of gorgeous sceneries and we travel to every part of Africa. Focussing on every aspect. I loved that! Not just showcasing nature and animals, but also highlighting architecture, buildings, statues, tiles, and others. And we see humans as well, from people in cities to people in small little villages.
Haha, OK, well, not all buildings are pretty, as I am just not a fan of a lot of modern stuff. But I do appreciate that we got both modern and historical buildings/architecture, it makes the book a bit more rounded. I was definitely looking forward to more history/older buildings, and I am happy we got that when we visited Egypt for instance. Or Libya! I loved visiting several little towns, but also swoop through bigger ones. The little ones though, oh how I would love to really stroll through those streets and little alleys and visit the markets. Plus, of course, I would love to visit several of the parks and nature places. Africa is just so pretty!

I have to say, its been a while since I last saw photographs of Cairo, and I was just saddened how it looked.

There is also text with each picture, I read some, if I was really interested in knowing a bit more about what we saw, but for most I just checked what it was and then looked at the photograph and went on. I do appreciate there is text and I am sure there are people who read it, I am just the kind of girl who rather looks at the photographs in a photography book.

As I said before for photography books from Netgalley, I do hope that the quality of the photographs is improved in the physical edition. At times the pictures were just a bit blurry/grainy. 

All in all, this was a gorgeous trip through Africa and I am very happy I could come along! I saw some gorgeous sites and this was just what I needed on a day like today. I would recommend it~
