It was an okay book for me. I‘m not a fan of too much time jumping or toxic relationships.
I liked the writing and the character development but it still fell a bit flat for me
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
I wasn't sure about this one but it was pretty good.
I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.
This was the first book of mine by this author and I am not going to lie it was a mixed bag for me! The relationship between the two main characters was just too up and down for me and at times made me a bit frustrated. I did like parts of the story so I will give the next book of the series a go!
This is a good book. The two main characters are Parker and Jackson. They have known each other all their lives. They dated in high school and college. They went their separate was when Parker went to medical school and Jackson went to the NFL. They each had issues but together they worked it out and fell in love and got married.
This book deserves so much more hype! I know it’s written by an indie author but my goodness,
it’s soooo good! I love the characters. The emotions displayed through just words is so compelling. I felt so connected and I love how well the writer chronicled everyone’s lives. This book is a must read! I laughed, I cried, and said OMG so many times! I’ve recommended it to all my friends. I look forward to the next book in the series.
This book was really good! It had me hooked from the begining. The writing, the characters and the plot was really good and interesting. It had me on the edge of my seat to know what will happen next.
Recommended 4/5
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this book.
THIS BOOK!!!!! Oh my god. I was hooked from the beginning. I did not want to out this book down. I wish I could read it forever,
Parker and Jackson fell in love when they were just kids. They love each other deeply but throughout the years life tests their love.
The story is told in present time but it moves back through flashbacks. That way we know all that has happened in between. Most of all through Parker's eyes. But some chapters are told by Jackson, too.
I liked this story a lot. It's a love story full of tragedies. But it is hopeful and it's very well told.
There were some moments when I disliked Jackson and I would have slapped him. But his evolution, and Parker's too, during the novel is beautiful.
A totally recommendable book.
I am a sucker for childhood friends to lovers and second chance. So obviously I was very excited to read this book! The synopsis sounded promising, but unfortunately this book didn't work me in the end. The execution was not good, and I was struggling so hard that I couldn't even finish it.
This book has the potential to be a 4-star read for me, but there were just some areas where it fell a little short and the writing was not my favorite style.
While I think that the relationship and dynamics between Jackson and Parker were quite toxic, it was very realistic for their ages and the goals/lifestyle that Jackson in particular had for himself. While I got frustrated with Parker time and time again, the storyline that was developed allowed me to feel the pain and pull that she was constantly going through when it came to her love for Jackson.
I would have liked a bit more time to focus on Parker and Jackson in the present because that is really where I started rooting for then, but it was hard to get there with the constant drama and ups and downs of their past and the events that ultimately led them back to one another.
An adorable childhood friends to lovers, with heartwarming scene and cute characters. This was a really fun lighthearted read with a small town cosy atmosphere. The plot was good and this is great for a rainy day read or when you need a boost of romance.
I will definitely be picking up more by this author!
One of my favourite tropes, childhood friends to lovers! I was rooting for them the entire time and I found it to be a very emotional read but one I couldn't put down!
I loved the chemistry between the characters and the author dealt with sensitive issues and trauma with delicacy.
This book is so good. I really enjoyed it and it kept me wanting to know what was going to happen at the end. It was entertaining and I highly enjoyed it.
I just reviewed Love You, Always by Lauren Lacey. #LoveYouAlways #NetGalley

What first attracted me to the book was the synopsis. It sounded like a smalltown second chance romance and I loved the idea of growth before returning to one another. But I didn’t like the book all that much. I thought the essence and plot was there, but the writing had a lot of spelling mistakes or the book just wasn’t formatted properly, not sure. I also thought the writing sounded a bit like wattpad, and was written like a teen novel. The characters just didn’t sound mature and the dialogue was just a little cringey.
Parker is a naive and felt like she didn’t know what she was doing or what she wanted. She felt a little too complacent for me. She’s a doctor but she is just so soft. I wasn’t a big fan of her. I think she had the potential to become a fully fleshed out character if that aspect of her life was brought more into the picture, especially its connection to cancer.
Jackson has his fair share of issues, and I just think he needs to sort through it first before getting into a relationship. He’s naive but also jaded, which is contrasting but he’s actually both. He is trying hard though, which helped him in the end.
Overall, I think the book has a lot of potential, but it needs to go through some serious editing. The plot and the characters are there and well-developed, but the writing just needs to go through another round. It may help to shorten the length of the high school and college, and focus on the after plot, there was a lot going on.
I do like some second chance romance and usually a sucker for it if it’s done well. But, i don’t really think the execution in this book fully done well, it’s okay in a sense that i’m still entertained and enjoying this book. But, i will not recommend it for the second chance romance tropes, it’s there but i don’t know it just slightly off
Really enjoyed this story and author style. i will read more of her books and liked this one. I have to get the first one to read now. Will read more.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I didn’t finish this book because as I was reading all of the times that there was supposed to be a double ll one of the l’s was missing. I know that sounds like a silly reason to dnf a book but it really took me out of it. I don’t know if it is just a glitch in the e-book but you should look into it and see if you can get it fixed before it goes to publish
this was an emotional roller coaster of a book! I felt like so much happened in this book, some of it was hard to follow, especially since timelines weren't mentioned at the beginning of chapters, but I was completely drawn into the story. Jackson and Parker have been through so much trauma together, part of me honestly wouldn't blame Parker for not wanting to be with Jackson if not for his dedication to sobriety. This book really touches on the ways grief can consume us, can ignite the worst parts of ourselves that turn to self-medication to try and numb the pain. my heart really went out to Parker, Jackson, and their family and friends trying to become the healthiest versions of themselves. only people truly, wholly, completely in love with one another can continue to go back to one another after all the pain and trauma they've been through, which honestly isn't unique to anyone-- we all have known pain and hurt and trauma, and we all deserve to work our hardest to have a love that is so wholly, completely, and wonderfully ours forever.
Thank you for the ARC!!!
This had me hooked from the beginning!! I love how they were friends first and grew up and in love! I like the little suspense added in about why it didn’t work and why hearts were broke! Second chance romances are one of my favorites and this one didn’t disappoint!
