Olive Blake does it again! I have loved this author since The Atlas six and have been sooo excited to read this! Thank you so much Netgalley for the arc

Firstly I would like to thank Pan Macmillan and the author Olivia Blake for access to masters of death.
The review I am going to make is an honest review regardless of the access I received for this book. It should be noted I was not paid for this review and ensure honesty in all my reviews.
I loved the Atlas six book so was very excited to have access to this fantasy book. This book is about a vampire estate agent selling a house with a murdered ghost (sounds like it ticks most supernatural boxes!). She hires a medium to rectify the ghost situation but Fox is a fraud and also the godson of death.
This book has so many secrets I kept turning the page and being shocked where the story went needs – angels, death, gods, vampire, werewolves, daemons – you name it this book has it. Wish the writing had followed a more linear path.

Thank you NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to read this book.
This is my first book by this author.
My overall impression is a good one..
This book has a great storyline and plenty of likeable bold characters.
I found it a really enjoyable read, I would recommend this books

thank you netgalley and pan macmillan for a review copy

I think this is one of my favourite books I have read by Olivie Blake. There are so many secrets and so many unknowns throughout that are beautifully written and revealed. This book follows Fox D’Mora godson of Death and Vi Malek a real estate agent who is trying to sell a haunted house. There are so many amazing characters in this book that I would definitely read about more, like
Olivie Blakes other books this one was written brilliantly. The whole world had dimension and once I finished I just wanted to start it again!!

Olivie Blake is such a great weaver of stories and as a fan of the Atlas Paradox series, this one was a must read.
I loved the supernatural element of this. We had angels, death, Greek gods, vampires, fae, werewolves, reapers, deamons and more. It was great.
Although I have to admit, it can be quite hard keeping up with her writing at times- it is not linear! It seems to dart about and twist on the head of a coin before succinctly returning and slightly leaves my brain whiplashed. It’s one of those reads where I felt like I needed all my brain cells to keep hold of the flitting story development. And there does seem to be a propensity to include brackets an awful lot.. But it didn’t detract too much away from the story. Which in itself, was great.
I did struggle with the concept of ‘the game’ though which also I didn’t seem to follow or understand all that well. I wasn’t sure quite what it was and how it was played, just the rule of ‘don’t lose’ but given it was such a fundamental part to the story, I was confused. It felt like a fair bit of work to keep track of the ins and outs and there was some points I wasn’t too sure what was going on. But it was a clever concept.
The relationship between Fox and Brandt was just perfect. It made for such good reading!
It’s hard to rate as I really did enjoy the story and was so intrigued all the way through. It made for addicting reading. I’m always excited to see what Olivie Blake will create next!

I’ll read Olivie’s shopping list if she’d let me. Her writing is just so perfect to me, I’ve never read a single one of her books I’ve not loved!

If you're in the mood for a delightfully witty and entertaining paranormal adventure, look no further than "Masters of Death" by Olivie Blake. This book is a unique blend of mystery, romance, and humor that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
What I loved most about this book was the cast of characters. From the unruly poltergeist to the love-stricken reaper, each character is quirky, lovable, and adds a unique flavor to the story. The banter between Vi and Fox is also a highlight, as their witty exchanges are sure to make you laugh out loud.
Overall, "Masters of Death" is a well-written, fun, and engaging read. It's the perfect book for anyone who loves paranormal stories with a healthy dose of humor. I highly recommend it!

“Don’t you see I love you enough to destroy the depths of myself?”
Thank you so much to @netgalley for the arc of one of my favourite authors of all time!
I absolutely ADORE Olivie Blake’s writing style and ability for storytelling and this book was no different. I really loved the magic system in this book and all the discourse between being immortal and mortal and the game of life and death, super interesting.
The thing I love Blake for the most though is how connected to the characters she makes me feel and unfortunately I didn’t feel that with this book hence why it’s only 4 ⭐️ for me (trust me it hurt, I love her books so much).
Overall, the story was great but I would have liked a little more work on the characters to make me love them.

My first by this author, though I've seen their books around, a lot.
My overall impression is a good one.
It's not laugh out loud funny, but it's definitely more than amusing.
To be honest, that's where I like my humour to be in books.
It has a wild cast of characters, that are not only big, bold and bright, but are of many various creations, mortals, creatures and others besides.
I found it a really enjoyable read, and just what I didnt know I needed .
I like to think its just a lot of fun nonsense, but as a mere mortal, would I really know any differenc

Simply brilliant When Viola Marek hires Fox D’Mora to deal with her ghost-infested mansion, she expects a competent medium. But unbeknownst to Viola, Fox is a fraud – despite being the godson of Death.
As the mystery unfolds, Viola and Fox are drawn into a quest that neither wants nor expects. And they'll need the help of a demonic personal trainer, a sharp-voiced angel and a love-stricken reaper. And it transpires that the difference between a mysterious lost love and a dead body isn’t nearly as distinct as you’d hope. Recommend to all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
