I'm pretty sure I squealed and swooned like a 14 year old teenager throughout most of this book!

It was just so cute, but grown up if that makes sense?! It wasn't all sweetness and light, and they actually acted their age, but it just felt really wholesome yet sexy at the same time 😂.

Like, Annie was already adorable just by being herself, and then Will comes along and just hikes the adorableness up 1000 notches. But the thing is, he isn't even trying to be adorable. He's cheeky and confident, but with a battered heart of his own he wants to protect, so he really shouldn't be right for Annie....
But he was. He so was.

There was a really vulnerable, fragility to them both that made them so endearing and perfect for each other that I wanted to cry atleast 10 times throughout reading this book. Even when they weren't even doing anything that important, that's how gone I was 😂.

There was plenty of laughter and playful banter aswell. And I'm sorry, but any man who pretends to be a pirate and kidnap his girl to fulfill the fantasies from her books is top of BB material if you ask me!

I could go on and on about how much I rate this book, but just add it to your list, and know you're going to fall in love with Will & Annie!

"I am the quiet one in my family. The one with her nose always in a book because she prefers worlds where she doesn't have to interact with other humans."

This is my first Sarah Adams book I have read, I have a couple of her books on my tbr pile for a while, but I wish I had read sooner. I absolutely loved this book, it's been a while since I have connected with a character like I did with Annie. She is the quiet one in her family, who enjoys more the comforts of romance books rather than interacting with people. Along comes Will, bodyguard 'executive protection agent', tattooed , doesn't believe in love, the complete opposite to Annie, but ever so perfect for her.

I loved how we got to see both Annie and will grow into themselves. Annie breaking away from the mould her friends and family have put her in. Will opening up to the idea of love and taking everything a day at a time, peeling back layers of each other which leads them to feel more confident not only with themselves but with each other. I just need to know where I can find my own Will.

"I can't offend anyone written into a book. I can't say the wrong thing. and book characters don't make judgements about me."

Once again Sarah Adams has created a story and characters that just make me grin. Cheesy happy joyous giggly kind of grins. Where you squeal and kick your feet at the cute sappy banter that you can’t help but smile at wholeheartedly.

Annie and Will have my heart! A flower shop owner and bodyguard love story. Full of dating lessons, tension, super sweet moments and found family, all set in a small town full of nosy neighbours. Just perfection!!

I will never tire of Sarah Adams writing and loved every moment of this book!! I will never not recommend Sarah Adams, she just brings all the feels with the very best love interests and such relatable female main characters. The main question is: when do I start my reread?

Practice Makes Perfect? No, this book is perfect!!! I don't think Sarah Adams has ever written a bad book, her books are the cheesy wonderful romance that we all love and crave, and this book takes the cake. I think this is my new favourite Sarah Adams book to date.

Whilst this book is an interconnecting standalone and can be read independently, I did read it after reading 'When in Rome'. This book starts where we left off in When in Rome. Meet Annie Walker, florist and romance reader extraordinaire. Annie is ready for the next stage in her life, the white-picket fences and many babies with the perfect cookie-cutter husband. In walks Will Griffin. Will is the bodyguard, bad boy, and tattooed man Annie doesn't need, yet she is extremely attracted to. Little does Annie know, Will is far softer and sweeter on the inside than his exterior shows. Will offers to help Annie with dating and becomes her romance tutor. What could possibly go wrong?! Will starts to fall for Annie although he knows he isn't right for her. Whilst Annie wants to live her simple life in Rome Kentucky, Will wants the thrill and adventure of travelling and dating. The pair must navigate their feelings whilst pretending they don't feel as strongly about each other. Can they compromise and admit their feelings? .... WHY DON'T YOU READ THE BOOK AND FIND OUT?

This book had me smiling and acting giddy and goofy the whole time. I literally had to stop reading at points because I was laughing so hard and smiling. I really enjoyed the characters and finally getting to know Annie after meeting her in the previous book. Will has boyfriend material written ALL OVER and lord I wish I could find a man like this. Sarah Adams cannot write a bad book and so I would recommend any of her books but this one really was amazing!!! Congratulations to Sarah for such a wonderful book and I cannot wait for the next one.

Thank you Sarah, Netgallery and Headline Eternal for this eArc of the book in return for my honest opinion.

Absolutely perfect! Sweet, funny, totally swoony, with a pitch-perfect romance and small town setting (WHERE THE TOWN ITSELF IS A CHARACTER!!!!) It made me laugh out loud, and I was totally invested in Annie and Will’s story. Just a blissful slice of escapism.

Thanks so much to Headline and Netgalley for letting me have an e-arc of this beautiful book!

And thanks so much to Sarah Adams for writing it! This was my first book from this author and I can gladly say I will be buying all of her books as soon as I get paid!

This was an amazingly written and witty love story focusing on a kind hearted woman who owns a flower shop and struggles with dating anxiety (don’t we all). Then enters body guard Will Griffin with his floral tattoos and bad boy aura.

Due to some kind hearted meddling from some close friends, the friends to lovers trope begins when they are brought closer and closer when Will offers to help ‘coach’ her through her dating woes. I’m not usually a fan of friends to lovers, but you know I love a good bodyguard romance.

I loved the character progression in this book, with Annie realising who she wants to be and the person she wants to become. And I especially loved how honest she eventually was with her family, and how they came together to show how much they love each other. I love how supportive Will was throughout the whole of this book, and that he didn’t want her to change too much as he loved her for who she was before. And a man that can communicate???? Sign me up!!!

My favourite scene had to be when Annie couldn’t sleep so texted Will in the middle of the night to come over. And he came straight over, climbed in the window and they fell asleep together. So cute it made me want to combust.

I won’t say anything more as I don’t want to ruin this book for anyone. Just know it’s going to be cute, but it will hit you with some hidden emotions throughout. I fully recommend this book to any romance lovers!

This book was exactly what I expected it to be and in the best way. It's not going to redefine the genre (that is by no means a bad thing) but you will be happy and content once you've finished reading.

I hate saying this, but this just wasn't book for me. I did not hate it, but I did not love it eather.
Just could not connect with the MC.
Just the whole trope fake dating/ love coaching...

Want it to love it, but nope. Just 3 stars.

Sweet and gentle Annie is running her own business in Rome, Kentucky. She is successful and happy all she needs is… a husband. The problem is that she’s an introvert and unfortunately her dates are not going well. Until one day a bad boy she met few times before comes back to town. Meet Will a bodyguard who comes back to Rome for work, but meets this cute girl he can’t stop thinking about. He’s this kind of guy who doesn’t like commitments and relationships are not his type of thing. Because of different circumstances he ends up being Annie’s tutor in “romance.” They both start to discover new feelings for each other and passion that blooms like Annie’s flowers. This rom com is a must read for all who love bad boys!❤️

3⭐️

This book was sweet and simple. It was exactly what I wanted it to be, easy to read and lighthearted. I thought that the writing was quite basic and simplistic, and there were a couple of moments that made me cringe a little, and it was fairly insta-lovey… but overall, I enjoyed it!

Unfortunately, I was really not a big fan of this, made doubly gutting by all the hype it's been getting on Goodreads - I came to this book after reading about it on a Goodreads list of 'Spring release romances we're excited about' (although after my trauma with [book:The Kraken's Sacrifice|60313107] maybe I shouldn't trust the Goodreads most-anticipated lists anymore). My main issue was that Annie was a massive not-like-other-girls girlie - here are some choice quotes:

Her brother says to Will, ''To be honest, I'm more worried about you than about Annie... Because I can guarantee you've never met anyone like her.''

Annie says about herself 'The thing about quiet people is, we're only quiet because our brains are so busy overthinking everything.'

Also, I just could not help cringing massively at a lot of things the characters said / did - again, here are some choice quotes:

''I'm not naked, I'm wearing a towel-' At that exact moment, said towel drops from my waist, and I am now, in fact, very naked'. But of course.

Annie says Will 'aims his smile at me, and suddenly it doesn't look quite so sunny anymore. It has the same glint a sword has.'

And then, after they finally got together, Will said: 'She... Annie... Was... And I... We... So good.' My god.

That being said, there were still quite a few things I did like about this book: as other reviewers have pointed out, Will is a man who actually communicates, which was great (although perhaps our collective bars are a little low), and, as the book itself pointed out, this meant that there wasn't so much of the usual 'angsty' nonsense. Will also made sure that Annie knew that she should never have to change herself (again: bar, low, but cute nonetheless). And even with Annie's not-like-other-girls-ness, I did still like her. She does seem like a lovely person to know. I would actually have loved to see more character development about these two, diving even further into their backgrounds (rather than a somewhat cursory overview of their various traumas). I was also really pleased to see that they didn't cave to the usual romance trope and just throw their characterisation aside and get married in the end. They actually thought about what works for them and what they want. I really liked the epilogue. And, finally, the background characters / town were mostly really well-executed - Mabel is a firm favourite of mine, alongside her rivalry with Harriet.

I was pretty certain before I read this that I was going to love it, having devoured The Cheat Sheet and When in Rome. This story follows on from where WIR left off, following Noah's little sister Annie, or 'Angel Annie' as she's known to her family and locals. All Annie wants us to find a husband, have a family and live happily ever after running her flower shop. Will is the bodyguard (or EPA as he prefers) to Rae Rose, but famous in his own right in the gossip rags for being a hot tattooed flirt. He avoids relationships, especially with women due to a difficult childhood.
Will instinctively knows he needs to stay away from Annie, he wouldn't be good for her, but they can't help the magnetic pull they both feel towards each other.

Another amazingly cute romance from the author that I demolished in a day! I loved the characters and the familiarity that comes with reading a sequel. Anna and Will were both the perfect MC and their slow burn was just *chefs kiss*
Make sure you pick this one up when it's released on 2nd May.

(PS I already can't wait for The Rule Book to be released!)

Huge thanks to @netgalley and @headlinebooks for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this amazing book.

This book is so cute! I loved Annie and Will and their story was so sweet to read. I really enjoyed the dating coach to friends to lovers narrative, and Sarah Adams wrote their feelings and pining really well.

Annie felt very relatable to me as I'm also introverted and socially anxious, and I could understand her frustration with everyone having one idea of who she is. The growth that she showed throughout the book was great and I loved seeing it.

Will was also a great character and he treated Annie so well - I'm really glad that he actually communicated and was up front with his feelings as I hate when the conflict revolves around miscommunication. He did frustrate me when he refused to let himself be with Annie, but his reasons for this were well explained and understandable so it didn't bother me too much.

It was fun seeing Amelia and Noah again, and I really enjoyed the small town aspect too. Overall, it was a fun, sweet book that I enjoyed reading!

Sarah Adams is definitely becoming one of my auto buy authors. Practice Makes Perfect, her new novel out on 2nd May, is the ideal opposites attract, Grumpy Vs Sunshine Romantic Comedy.

Angel Annie is desperate to fill a void by marrying and starting her own family. Her only issue is…She is currently single and hopeless at dating. Tattooed Bad Boy, Will Griffin is back in Rome, Kentucky protecting Amelia Rose. Thrill seeker, Will is anti-relationship and is determined that his stay in this small town will be temporary. To make this happen, he must avoid the gorgeous flower shop owner at all costs. When Amelia requests that he becomes Annie’s dating guru, he is forced into spending more time with her and soon the suffocating town doesn’t seem so boring. There’s an instant connection, but will they be able to resit one another when they both represent what the other doesn’t want for the future.

This small-town romance is such a wholesome read. I absolutely adored the characters throughout who doesn’t love a side plot surrounding meddling town folk. Readers of When in Rome will not be disappointed as Amelia and Noah are present throughout and are just as adorable in this book. The characterisation is excellent throughout. There’s swoon worth romance, and Annie and Will are perfect throughout they literally are now my favourite ever couple.

You definitely should read this book but if you need any more convincing check out the tropes below:

Opposites Attract
Grumpy/Sunshine
Small Town Setting
Friends to Lovers
Fake Dating

Thank you Sarah Adams, Headline and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Stars

Having read pretty much all of Sarah Adams other books, I had a feeling I would enjoy reading this! I found that the spice level was perfectly balanced, there was just enough that it didn't make me feel like I was reading a closed door.

I related to Annie as someone who is pretty introverted and struggles with social anxiety. I will always love the people of Rome, Kentucky and how they take care of each other. Having been in a small town before, I had a chuckle at the scene in the sisters' kitchen describing how they had found out Annie's secret, as it felt so familiar.

I loved Annie and Will together so much. Will's issue with relationships was understandable, yet frustrating because I felt I could empathise with him and his circumstances that it made me root for him and Annie so much more! He never asked or expected Annie to change a single thing about herself and communicated his feelings throughout (!!!) which can frustrate me with other books, when a conflict could be resolved (or completely avoided) by having a simple conversation.
The glimpses of Noah and Amelia's life post ‘When in Rome’ made me grin at my phone more times than I am willing to admit, on top of all the times Will caused it I was pretty much reading this with a permanent smile.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and hope we get more from Rome in the future!

Thank you so much to Netgalley & Headline for the ARC!

This book did not disappoint!

I have been waiting for this and I am so happy it's as good as I was hoping for it to be! I loved Annie and Will so much and really enjoyed the way they brought out the best in each other.

I am so looking forward to the next book and am really hoping that it is James and Madison's story!

New favourite author right here! Everyone should read this book!

Five stars from me on Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams. I’ve only read one other book by Sarah Adams which was the Cheat Sheet and while I did love that, this was another level. I just loved everything from start to finish. I love a small town romance and a fake dating trope so the two combined was just brilliant and it was so beautifully executed. I also love when the FMC is a bookworm too, so all in all this book just did it for me. It wasn’t too serious, it was light, fun and I loved all of the main characters. It had some major laugh out loud parts too which I just adore in a book. I did realise that this is part of the When in Rome series which I am yet to read but after reading this I will be sure to pick that one up too.

Would definitely recommend, I will be getting my hands on a paperback when it’s released.

Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for giving an arc of this book.

I have previously read three other books by the same author and I think so far this one is my favourite! I absolutely loved the relationship dynamic between Annie and Will and I liked the fact there were characters from the previous book in this series, but not in like a pushy way. It felt like a nice way to continue When In Rome.
I can't wait to get a physical copy of this book!

Just call me the President and founder of the Will Griffin fan club 😍

I loved When in Rome so I was so excited to hear it would be a series and this installment did not disappoint!

This book has a very chill vibe. There isn't a lot going on externally (besides some nosy townsfolk and preparations for the wedding of a pop superstar) but the beauty of this book is what happens with our characters internally. Following Annie on her self-discovery was a beautiful adventure that I think a lot of people can relate to and seeing Will come to terms with and then embrace the idea of falling in love- and specifically falling in love with Annie- was a joy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is CHEESE. This book is FLUFF. This book is CUTE. I ate it up.

Thank you so much to net galley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

This book is a follow on from Sarah Adams When In Rome which I haven’t read yet but I was not lost at all throughout this book!! You are able to see exactly whats going on without needing to know what happened on the first book!

Safe to say i will definitely be picking up when in rome soon!

This book follows Annie the towns girl next door and Will the big scary bodyguard that everyone thinks will ruin Annie. It is set in a southern town in america called rome and the vibes are adorable. Everyone in the town knows everyones business and they all look out for eachother, so when Will comes back into town to look after Amelia(pop sensation from book1) and starts hanging out with Annie, you can imagine the drama.

It’s light and fluffy and it’s just what I wanted!! I definitely recommend this book🫶🏼
