The African POTUS; African Magical Realism Series by Ben Chizo is an incredible book that belongs in every library! I was truly thankful to have gotten to read this before most people! I would like to purchase this one for my physical library!

The President of the USA Jerry King is hit in the head by a golf ball during a golf game leaving him in a coma. When he regains consciousness he is in a hut in a village in Nigeria, he is the newborn son of an African woman with limited memories. He begins living his life as little POTUS that has been adopted by a wealthy family living with a dangerous secret of their own. POTUS hears strange voices throughout his formative years which forced him to wear amulets from the Babalawo to bind him with the powerful water spirit that has possessed him. After the boy faces his own accident all is revealed, who the voices in his head really are and who has take possesion of his body all those years ago.

This book is magical realism with funny moments that had me laughing for ages (especially Sir Lewis Hamilton being an alien). This book is not for people who is easily offended as the character named Jerry King is a racist who used deragotory terms.

This is a funny take on what would happen if a racist president who also wanted to be a dictator was re-created as a newly born baby of a villager in Africa. He thinks his name is POTUS and only has traces of his memories of before but that’s not to say he isn’t still feeling entitled and more important than others. He go through many trials and tribulations that does it teach him the lessons he should learn or will he come out of the distance pompous as he came in. This is a book full of LOL moments especially his first day at the international school that made me laugh so much but then again right after he was born was also very hilarious so I guess essentially what I’m saying is this book is hilarious all the way through. I definitely highly recommend it unless of course you’re a big Trump fan then maybe I would skip it unless you’re not easily offended. If not you’re in for a great treat there’s so much more to this booked in the brief summary I have given from little black POTUS meeting the white ghost who may or may not be his prior self but will Jerry King ever make it back to America in the White House and what will happen to his African parents? they have a little magical realism in the book and as I said the book is hilarious.g I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I’m leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
