A huge thank you to Netgalley andHarperCollins UK Audio and Katherine Webber & Catherine Doyle for giving me a chance to listen to "Twin crowns" narrated by Ann Marie Gideon & Ell Potter in exchange for my honest review.
This is what a thrilling start of a trilogy looks like to me ! An amazing young adult fantasy with witches ,high stakes and forbidden romance and banter and everything in between is what Twin Crowns is all about. Narrated by Ann Marie Gideon and Ell Potter ,who did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life and had me hooked and made me want to listen to more audiobooks after a long while I'd left them aside from my reading preferences. Wren and Rose are total opposites but I loved them just the same. Their chemistry with their love interests , the banter and smart quips they had, the personal character arc of each one during this Parent-Trap-like switch adventure, is absolutely marvelous!I started this audiobook one day I was on my way to work and only listened to it while I commuted back and forth BUT THEN I WAS HOOKED and i just COULDN'T STOP LISTENING !I may have called a friend on the phone and told her to stop whatever she was reading and start this book because I wanted to discuss everything with someone the moment I finished the book !
The bonus content at the end of the book with the Q&A with Katherine Webber & Catherine Doyle answering questions that readers submitted was something I didn't expect and I was supper excited about !I would definitely recommend this to get you back to listening to audiobooks because it will have you hooked on the plot and the narration.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with this arc for my honest review

Twins separated at birth and set against each other
SUMMARY:
Rose Valhart and Wren Greenrock are twins who separated at birth and their lives could not be more different. Rose has no idea that she has a twin, and she was raised to be the perfect demure crowned princess. Wren is a witch and she’d known about her twin for her whole life. Wren’s plan is to take Rose’s place right before the coronation, so she can become queen of Eana and make sure that witches are not hunted anymore.
I feel like there wasn't much depth to the characters and to be honest I didn't feel a connection to them the whole time I was reading the book. The plot is definitely predictable but I loved he world and the worldbuilding. I loved the storyline for this book I found it very interesting, The narrators were perfect for this story it made the story so much better via listening to the audiobook as I felt more immersed in the story.
I found this audiobook well narrated, enjoyably so. Unfortunately however I was unable to find myself drawn into the story, I found myself uninvested in the lives of either sister and felt myself zoning out at several points while trying to listen to it. It was wonderfully narrated, but the content wasn't of interest or note.
A fantasy novel starting a series in which two princesses were separated at birth - with one sister not knowing of the others' existence, while the other aims to steal her sister's throne.
This was an interesting book with distinct characters and voices, a result of both good characterisation and the fact there are two authors - one taking each sister's POV. We have two very different romances, friendships, revenge, plotting and magic. There is not really any spice, but definitely some well written tension! I really enjoyed reading this book and listening to the audiobook was a good experience, with two narrators taking a sister respectively. I must say some pronounciations of words (like rifling) really bothered me, but I think it was a stylistic choice to sound more upper class.
An easy read and one I would recommend to those who like YA fantasy, or just fantasy in general. Definitely recommend.
I was provided with a complementary copy of this audiobook by HarperCollins via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, which I leave voluntarily
Although this book has a few darker moments, it’s mostly light-hearted and like a romcom. The relatively short chapters really help to maintain the fast pace of the book which I really liked. I also like that the focus of each chapter switches between the two sisters and I enjoyed reading both of their perspectives, so I didn’t get annoyed when I had to wait a bit to find out more of a specific twin’s story. I do think the plot was a bit drawn out and needed more twists and action for the 400ish pages that it is. Other than that, I am rating it purely for the vibes as I flew through it and really enjoyed my time reading it.
An enthralling young adult fantasy, Twin Crowns by Katherine Webber and Catherine Doyle, narrated by Ann Marie Gideon and Ell Potter, captured my attention from the beginning to the end. The narrative centres on Wren and Rose, twin sisters who were reared in quite different environments and have been apart since birth. Their lives are set to intersect in the most dramatic manner as Rose struggles with life outside the royal gates and Wren plots to seize her sister's position in the palace. The novel combines a thrilling journey with smart banter and engrossing romance. For readers who enjoy epic adventures and nuanced characters, this fantasy is a must-read because of its rich world-building and captivating narrators.
Just a pure delight - all of the best aspects of Frozen, the Grishaverse, Shrek, Galavant, and of course some Parent Trap.... There's no shortage of dramatic events, but it is so refreshing to listen to a fairy tale that is not relentless darkness and angst. The whole family can listen to this one together - the romance never exceeds PG levels of intimacy, and the violence is much more along the lines of a network TV show than Game of Thrones. There are virtually no "slow parts" in the entire fourteen hours - even the ongoing need to describe settings, outfits, etc. is entertaining.
The narration is perfect, with both narrators making it clear who is speaking without going completely over the top with accents. The bonus interview with the authors at the end is evidence that they had as much fun writing this as it is to listen to, which is lovely to hear.
Thank you to NetGalley for introducing me to this series - I will certainly look for the sequels in the future!
I have yet to read a Katherine Webber book that I did not like and I am pleased to report that this includes this book! Twin Crowns was addictive, fast paced, and emotional. I loved reading from both of the perspectives of Rose and Wren. They were both unique and fascinating characters that really came to life in this story. I loved this book so much that I went ahead and bought book two straight away and I am now eagerly awaiting book three!
Really liked this book, I loved the narrators and felt like I really understood the characters, their motives and reasonings and I love Ren and Tor 🥰
I really enjoyed this audiobook - a lot more than I expected to. The narrator got the accents perfectly and it kept me engaged and enthusiastic.
The story took me a little while to become fully submerged but once I hit that 50% mark there was no putting it down.
The twins reunion was perfectly executed in my opinion and I am fully on board with both (three) of the ships! Also love LGBT representation in these types of books so hats off from me to the authors 💕
Tropes include:
👯♀️ Twin 🎶where have you been🎶
🐆Terrifying cuddly dangerous pets
🏡Stong Friendships and Family Bonds
💪Protective characters
💕10/10 love interests
I’m so torn whether to continue the series because I’ve heard about a love triangle and we all know that’s my least favourite trope 😭 what do I doooo!
Thankyou to NetGalley and the publisher for an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review!
Twin Crowns Review - 3 Stars
I’m very late to read Twin Crowns, despite it having been on my TBR for over a year! Thankfully, listening to it via audiobook from NetGalley gave me the push I needed to pick it up!
In a dual POV narrative, we follow Rose Valhart and Wren Greenrock, twins separated at birth. While Rose has lived a life of luxury as Princess of Eana, oblivious of her sister’s existence, Wren was spirited away and prepared to steal her sister’s throne.
The writing read as very young YA, almost bordering on middle grade, which I would usually have no issue with but the sheer naivety and childishness of the characters at moments frustrated me. Building on that, Wren’s actions and decisions exasperated me immensely. For someone who had been raised since birth to pose as her sister, she was incredibly impulsive, reckless and careless. She entangled herself in trouble virtually every time she left her room!
Reading Twin Crowns was reminiscent of watching Disney films as a child; it possessed the same fairytale-esque innocence and atmosphere. It was very low stakes though, bordering on cosy fantasy vibes although that’s not how it was marketed, and I would have appreciated higher stakes and more tension, especially considering a whole country was on the line.
The romance was nothing noteworthy to me, although I did enjoy Rose and Shen’s budding friendship and allyship. Wren and Tor’s relationship felt very insta-love, not to mention we know next to nothing about Tor himself.
I loved how distinct and contrasting Rose and Wren’s points of view were! They blended perfectly and it wasn’t immediately obvious that it was written by two people (which was such an innovative and creative idea!)
Overall, rather one-dimensional and banal. I would only recommend to a younger reader looking for a low-stakes fantasy as I think I would have enjoyed this more at a younger age myself! I will continue the series because I am incapable of DNFing and because I’m intrigued to see where the world building goes - there seems so much potential to expand the story beyond Eana.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins Audio for the audiobook!
I just finished "Twin Crowns" by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber, and I have to say, it was a wild ride! This book follows the story of two sisters, Rose and Wren, who couldn't be more different yet equally captivating.
Rose is the dutiful princess, raised in the palace with all the privileges but also the heavy weight of responsibility. On the flip side, Wren was brought up by witches with a rebellious streak and a sharp wit. Seeing how these two navigate their lives and the twists that bring them together was simply amazing. I loved how their differences made them stronger when faced with adversity. They have such distinct personalities but share a resilience that's truly admirable.
The authors did a fantastic job of fleshing out the characters and their development felt natural and compelling. The world-building was rich and immersive, making it easy to get lost in the story. Plus, the plot twists kept me on my toes the entire time.
If you're into fantasy with strong, well-rounded female leads, then this book is definitely for you. "Twin Crowns" combines adventure, magic, and a touch of sisterly love that’s hard to resist. Highly recommend!
I found this such a great book to listen to! I’ve heard about it quite a lot as it had quite a blow up about a year ago on booktube, however I didn’t hear the best reviews about it. So I thought the audio version would make it feel better for me and it did! I can tell if I had read it physically, I wouldn’t have liked it as much since the writing is quite simple as it’s YA, but listening to the dialogue made it so much more immersive. The narrators did a great job at voicing rose and wren!
Twin Crowns follows two sisters separated at birth, both on separate paths to ensure their rightful place on the throne of Eana.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning. The authors have created a simple, uncomplicated YA royal fantasy with well written characters which were brought to life even more so by the wonderful narrators.
The story was full of magical charm, wit, adventure, romance, witches and a wolf.
I loved the dynamics between the sisters Wren and Rose as well as their counterparts throughout.
I can't wait to read the 2nd and 3rd books in the series but would definitely consider the audiobooks if they had the same narrators because they made this an absolute joy to listen to.
Thank you Netgallery for the audiobook ARC
This was a fantastic and magical audiobook of lost Twin Sisters.
I thought it was so clever how they told the story of the different sisters with the different voice actors.
Set in a magical world where the witches have been banished after a horrible war year ago , after a witch murdered the then king and queen of the Kingdom.
Nearly 18 years later their daughter, Princess Rose is set to take the crown and become Queen. Until her long lost twin sister Wren kidnaps her and takes her place using her magic.
There are so many twists and turns throughout this story. Secrets are revealed and both sister find themselves and each other.
This is the first book in a trilogy and can't wait to continue this story!
Twin Crowns has been on my TBR for years, having originally picked up a paperback copy from work a few years ago. However due to University and personal life struggles, I was unable to pick it up. So when I saw it out on Audiobook I jumped at the chance. Twin Criwns is a fun YA fantasy story with strong female leads, sisterhood, friendship, magic, politics and romance.
I enjoy both Wren and Rose, and the two authors managed to seamlessly merge their chapters and each twins pov together in a way that made me constantly forget that this was written by two different people.
I'm excited to continue my journey through this series, and for once on here I don't have to wait beyond waiting for my next trip to the bookstore. The narration was good as well.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Audio for the ARC in exchange of an honest review.
I really enjoyed this fantasy novel. I can definitely see why it's so hyped and beloved. The concept were interesting and the executing didn't disappoint. The magic system, the sisters' relationship and romance was so good all of it. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
This reminded me of princess and pauper but where both the female protagonists have magic and control on them. Both are princess, one is up in front of the public while other is in disguise.
The concept is wonderful and the writing is beautiful. The authors have done a wonderful job bringing in this wonderful old tale but with a twist. Looking forward to read the next two parts in this series.
I've been meaning to pick up Twin Crowns for so long, so when I saw it out on audiobook I jumped at the chance. This was a fun YA fantasy rom-com with strong female leads, bonds of sisterhood and friendship, witches and politics.
I loved both Wren and Rose's characters, and their development throughout the story. I had forgotten there were two authors until the end, and was so surprised they each wrote a twin's chapters, as they came together so seamlessly. It had a bit of a feel of a classic fairytale, but with many more winding plot points, sass, and complications. I enjoyed so many of the characters (and their counterparts), and the villain was appropriately horrid.
Given the ending, I'm really looking forward to pick up the next book in the series (and happy I don't have to wait!). The narration was great, making it really easy to follow the different storylines throughout the book. The character voices were easily discernible, and they did an excellent job bringing to life Wren's gumption and Rose's sass.
Thank you HarperCollins UK Audio and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.
I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book, it is perfect. Twin Crowns is the perfect YA fantasy with dual point of view and enchanting characters. I can’t wait to discover more about the word and see how Wren and Rose grow as sisters and as monarchs.
Audiobook review: I listened to the audiobook read out by Ann Marie Gideon and Ell Porter, and they portrayed the twins so well. They really made the story even more enjoyable and made it felt like I was living it.

Meanwhile, Princess Rose Valhart faces marriage duties in a harsh kingdom, discovering a wilder life beyond the palace walls.
