Amazing! I need the next instalment now!

I admit to not knowing anything about vintage dresses, but I’m fascinated by the characters. Johnno definitely has something he’s hiding, he’s like two different people and I can’t wait to see what he’s going to revelatory Sophy as the story progresses. Freddy and Phoebe certainly have a secret too! And Charles, oh how Sophy got that wrong, I can’t wait to see what happens between them two. Also will she still take the plunge and emigrate? Or will her dad win her over and reveal his truth to her? I really can’t wait to find out.

I loved this. Can’t wait for part two. Set in a vintage dress shop. You don’t warm to the manageress of the shop. But the main character is fab -Sophy I think we are all going to learn about vintage clothes. Roll on the next part. Sophy ‘s father sounds fun.

I enjoyed this little taster about the Vintage dress shop and look forward to reading the rest of the book at some point. Great collection of diverse characters with loads of potential. I can only give 4 stars though being only a short first part but easy to read and get into the story.

So much fun! Sophy is delightful as a slightly lost, thirty year old London shopgirl navigating vintage clothes, new friends and delicious possibilities. This is a very light and easy read. The cover makes it look old fashioned, which is a shame as this actually feels like a very modern tale..

Part 1 sets up the vintage dress shop for Sophy and hints at the possibility of Charles as a friend, Mayne even love interest. I’ll have to get Parts 2, 3 and 4 to find out how it all works out for Sophy.
Thanks very much to NetGalley for the ARC.

Didn't realise this was just part one. Will wait for all four parts and read together. I read so much (300+ books a year) that if I have a gap between parts I will forget the plot and characters

First and foremost, I express my gratitude to hodder and stoughton and author Annie darling for granting me access to the vintage dress shop in Primrose Hill. As I proceed with my review, I want to clarify that my opinions are entirely unbiased, regardless of the access I received. It's essential to note that I have not been compensated for this review, and I uphold honesty in all my critiques.

In the vintage dress shop in Primrose Hill, author Sophy Stevens takes readers on an enchanting journey with a relatable protagonist, Sophy, as she navigates unexpected challenges and discovers the magic of vintage fashion.

Turning thirty brings unexpected changes for Sophy - she finds herself without a job, single, and yearning for something new. The opportunity arises when her absent father, Johnno, offers her a temporary job at his vintage clothes shop in Primrose Hill as she saves up for her dream trip to Australia to surprise her grandparents on their anniversary. Despite her initial hesitation, Sophy accepts the offer and steps into the world of vintage fashion.

As she delves into the treasure trove of preloved clothes at the Vintage Dress Shop, from a 1930s cocktail gown to a pristine 50s wedding dress, Sophy is captivated by the unique stories and history behind each piece. However, her newfound passion for vintage fashion clashes with the snooty manager, Phoebe's disapproval, adding another layer of challenge to her job.

Amidst the racks of beautiful clothes, Sophy also meets Charles Radley, a debonair gemstone specialist with impeccable tailoring, sharp cheekbones, and irresistible charm. As Charles throws Sophy's plans off course, she must navigate her growing attraction while juggling her job and saving for her trip to Australia.

the vintage dress shop in Primrose Hill is a delightful tale of self-discovery, love, and the allure of vintage fashion. Stevens' writing is engaging and vivid, painting a picturesque setting of Primrose Hill and bringing the vintage clothes to life with rich descriptions. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the chemistry between Sophy and Charles is palpable.
What makes it truly special is how it captures the essence of following one's passion and finding unexpected joy in the most unlikely places. Sophy's journey of self-exploration and personal growth is both heartwarming and inspiring, and readers will find themselves rooting for her every step of the way.

Overall, it is a charming and captivating novel that will appeal to readers who appreciate romance, fashion, and stories about embracing change and pursuing one's dreams. Stevens' evocative writing and endearing characters make this book a delightful read from beginning to end.

I hadn’t realised that this was in parts so came as a shock when it finished. Dolby is great as a usually feisty person whose confidence has been knocked by recent events. The vintage dress shop sounds fantastic and I love Primrose Hill. Can’t wait for part 2.

I loved this book and cannot wait for the next instalment. Sophy is a great character and works in a vintage dress shop and knows nothing about vintage clothes. The humour is brilliant throughout the book. Roll on part two.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.
