This was my introduction to Leighton Cluster and I’ve definitely been missing out, though I can’t imagine liking any of the other couples more than Dash and Theo.
This book is #5 in a series but was easy to follow as a stand alone, although I did sort of wish there was a list of couples as the group gatherings could be a bit confusing. There were a lot of references to the other characters from earlier books and there’s obviously tons of history but I didn’t find that it made it difficult to understand what was happening with Dash and Theo’s story.
This book was quick and the main characters are sweet but I would have loved more details about Dash’s history or family. His past was alluded to frequently (he even authors a book about it), but I would have liked to see more about his Grandfather/the ring or his Mother.
Theo reminds me a bit of the FMCs from Lisa Kleypas’ Ravenels series in that she’s sassy and knows what she wants, and is not preoccupied with the social norms and customs of the times.
Spice rating: 3/5
This was a quick read and I will likely go back and read the rest of the series based on how much I enjoyed this book.

So Tracy Sumner is one of the best new (to me) authors that I’ve discovered. I still strongly believe that the previous novel to this, One Wedding and an Earl, is the best book of 2023. Two Scandals and a Scot is something I’ve been waiting for. We have been hearing about Dash for quite some time in the series. He is the most beautiful man on earth apparently and incredibly intelligent. This intelligence has allowed him to make a living cheating at the gaming hells, then he and Theo got together to put it all in print and now he’s selling a book on cheating that has taken London by storm.
These two are on a collision course that has been fated since the Wicked Wallflower. We’ve heard in several of the other books how they were joined at the hip for a while and then all of a sudden she is marrying this stick in the mud academic, which you would think would work for her because she’s definitely a bluestocking, but her fiancé has a pretty major skeleton in his closet that is going to ruin things for the two of them and they will never get married. Which is fine because we’ve been waiting for Dash.
But Dash doesn’t think he’s good enough for her because he grew up poor Scotsman in London. But think about it, Theo grew up in the stews as well, but now through marriage and blood, she is part of the upper crust.
There’s a lot to give away so I’m gonna try really hard not to, but basically this is an excellent 4 1/2 star story. We have seen a whole lot of Dash throughout the series and a good amount of Theodosia, enough that we know their personalities and recognize that their happy ever after is going to be difficult. I have to say, as a person who is in the communication field, I am often irritated by stories where everything could be easily rectified if the two parties just spoke to each other. But in this case, their stumbling blocks in communication definitely enhance the story and made me appreciate the complexity of their personalities.
FYI, I cannot wait for Jasper’s book. There have been some hints into what’s going on with him, he’s not the rookery lad that he portrays himself to be. That is going to be an amazing ending to the series!

I received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was fun! I really liked seeing Dash grow up from the last book we saw him, and though this was definitely a little different from the last books, I really enjoyed how these two characters interacted with each other. That it was friends that hid mutual crushes? Even better! This wasn’t an “I just met you, let’s get married” situation, it was an honest, slightly over complicated (but if it weren’t, it wouldn’t be as fun), and honestly sweet romance.

I didn't hesitate to start this book despite having not read the other's as you can usual still read books on their own even when they are part of a series. However this was a difficult one to get into for the first few chapters because I didn't know who everyone was and there wasn't much of a back story for the main character's. I did persevere and it did improve. The character's were likeable and easy to like and were a friends to lovers tope. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

3.5 Stars! This is the 5th book in ‘The Duchess Society’ series and can be read as a standalone, for the most part. I’ve read most of the books in this series and I was still confused at times on who everyone was. I was surprised the book didn’t have more back story on the main characters, Dash & Theo. They were easy to love and root for, even if I was wondering about their past histories. I did read most of the books and yet I wish Dash & Theo’s pasts were explained a bit more than they were, as I was busy trying to remember what I’d read in past books instead of just reading. All that being said, this was still an entertaining read that I found enjoyable. If you enjoy detailed “sexy times” scenes, you’re likely to enjoy this book. I’d say this was a bluestocking/wallflower falling for a rake from the wrong side of the tracks that start as friends but end up with a HEA ending of their own. Worth checking out but might be more enjoyable if you read the whole series in order, one after the other so it’s fresh in your mind.

Another amazing read in the The Duchess Society series. I feel this story has been building in the previous stories even though it can be read alone. Theo and Dash are forces in society. She grew up under poor circumstances but has been elevated to the sister of a Duke and has many powerful aristocratic allies. Dash was born into even worse childhood trials but has now been taken under the wing of others, writing a book on gambling which Theo helped him edit and becoming rich in his own right. Theo is an intellectual wanting only to be educated at the highest level. Dash is opening a gambling hell and sleeping his way through all the women of the ton.
One night in their lives changes everything as Theo runs away from her engagement party and Dash ends up helping her. Marriage ensues, there are fun and exciting romantic scenes, but the battle is ongoing for the heart and commitment of the other.
Could not turn the pages fast enough, caught up in their banter and lust for each other.

Two Scandals and a Scot is the fifth book in the Duchess Society series. Each book can be a stand-alone read but it is so entertaining you won't want to miss a one.
Theodosia Astley leaves her engagement party after a scandal regarding her fiancé plays out in front of the ton. She leaves and runs to the first carriage she sees to escape the embarrassment. Unfortunately, too late she recognizes it as belonging to Dashiell (Dash) Campbell. She helped him when he wrote a book about gambling. Dash catches up with his carriage and helps her flee to an inn. The Leighton family also follows and when Theo and dash are found together a wedding is again in her immediate future.
Dash and Theo discuss the terms of their marriage and what they want it to be based on, friendship but they will not fall in love. Friends to lovers make the most enjoyable stories.

The 5th book in the Duchess Society series, I have been wanting to read about Dash and Theo since we meet them in The Wicked Wallflower.
Dash and Theo were both born on the wrong side of the tracks and rescued. Theo is the newfound sister to Helena Astley who married Roan Darlington, Duke of Leighton. And Dash, a Scottish kid, was saved by Pippa and Macauley from puberty. Dash and Theo sort of grow up together and also study together, Theo was Dash's teacher for a long time until they grew apart due to life circumstances.
Some years pass, the tension grows (you can feel the tension between books 3 and 4) and finally, we get to see them together. Theo was jilted during her engagement party when a surprise showed up and saved the day. She makes a run for it and Dash follows. The scandal that follows makes the Leighton Cluster get involved and well, that's the fun and funny scenes.
I have to say that this book did not disappoint. The original theme is there, the tension is there, it's funny and sensual and I have to say, Dash will forever be grateful for graphic French texts!

Theo and Dash’s story did NOT disappoint. After a failed engagement, Theo runs off and it is up to Dash to save her. If you read previous novels in this series, then you know these two and their happily ever after was everything a reader could want it to be. (Note-you do not need to have read the previous novels to read this story, but it does make it that much more of a delight.) My favorite part of this story is that the characters say what they think and feel. Many novels are so full of angst and characters misunderstanding one another that it is tiring. This was not the case. Both characters are honest and vulnerable and very relatable. I also loved the way they seemed to grow together. Falling in love for the first time-together. Consumed by passion for the first time-together. There was something sweet and innocent about it. Although-the story was steamy all at the same time! That is a hard balance, but this author did it! Overall, this is a fast paced, steamy read.

This is definitely my favorite book in the series. Dash and Theo are obviously perfect for one another. It was nice that they had a bit of a history so their falling in love didn't come out of nowhere or seem too quick as in some of the other books. I thought the actions of Theo's fiancé were brushed over a little too quickly - we know he was all wrong for her and she wasn't devastated by his betrayal, but it still seemed like it was forgotten pretty quickly. And all the action having to do with him occurred off-page. The only part I didn't really like about this book was the behavior of the Duchess Society. They did a pretty crappy job of researching Theo's first match and then force her into a marriage even when she states multiple times that she does not want to get married. Obviously it all works out and (as mentioned previously) she and Dash are meant for one another, but they didn't really seem to listen to her when she was talking about what she wanted for her life. And let's not forget, had their crew not stormed into the inn and created a scene there would have been no scandal to cover up/avoid. Other than that, this is a pretty solid book. And it definitely makes you want to know more about Jasper Noble.

I enjoyed this one, and I will definitely seek out other Sumner books, but WOW this was a difficult one to get into for the first few chapters without having read the previous books in a series (acknowledging that this is maybe an unfair criticism of a book in a series, but typically you can read a book as a stand-alone and not be overwhelmed by 10+ characters and personalities for whom you don’t have a back story…?). After the first couple of chapters, though, we really get to explore Theo and Dash and their stories, and I loved getting to know them! Definitely will be checking out other Sumner books.

WOW!! I have been looking forward to this book for a while now. It did not disappoint. I never thought someone could replace Xander from Wicked Wallflower but they have! It is almost like a total role reversal with what I see as the hero falling first! (First to admit anyway) Yea it is steamy but it links so well with the story and develops the characters. If you haven’t already read the others in the series you won’t be disappointed. Now what happens with Jasper Noble? X

Listen. One of my biggest pet peeves (and a habit I’m noticing more and more lately) is this habit that’s forming of writing a series of standalones that don’t actually stand-alone. And you may be thinking “well you should read a series in order”. Friends, a book should stand on it’s own merit without requiring you to retain the knowledge of previous books. And this is coming from someone that HAS read the previous books in this series.
This book felt like it was either written by someone different (because I DO think Sumner is talented….normally) or wasn’t reviewed very well by an editor. It’s all tell, no show. I have no clue what either Theo or Dash’s backgrounds are because we’re given the bare minimum information. There’s so many plot points, like Dash’s entire family line getting wiped out??, that are just sprinkled in and dropped. It was so hard to follow along.
Do I think they’re in lust? Absolutely since they can’t have any kind of in depth conversation. It’s just them banging. Which would be fine if this was erotica, but it just ends up feeling poorly written. Are they in love? Friends, I don’t even think they like each other. Theo is doing the BIG INSECURE and is very upset that Dash slept with woman and had a reputation before her. Which…..okay? Y’all had a whole conversation about him honoring his wedding vows but he has to leave town (to, y’know, work??) and she’s about to have a coronary because she’s certain he’s banging the entire county.
It’s ridiculous, and honestly, it’s just a fairly lazy plot point. Insecurity? Fine! But this was like…nonsensical and almost cartoon-ish.
2 stars for the prose itself and the fact that the sex scenes were entertaining. But that’s all I got on this one.

HOW ON EARTH DOES TRACY SUMNER DO IT?! This series continues to get better, which is unbelievable. Dash and Theo are the perfect couple. Friends to enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, this book will hit you right in the feels! These two go through so many trials and tribulations together, and the way they support and come to love each other was breathtaking. Their steam was so passionate and romantic, it’s crazy to me how Tracy can create such amazing couples and plots for her books. A must read for sure!

Tracey Sumner’s books are an auto-buy for me so I happily read her latest “Two Scandals and a Scott”. The couple marry early in the story because of a scandal and I was glad to see this, however the drama between the two seemed a bit common. She is unhappy about his popularity with women, he comes unhinged when she faces down a villain. The happily ever after leaves you with lots of warm feelings. Enjoyable book, awesome characters. 4 stars.

I enjoyed the continuation of the series. Dash and Theo have liked each other since they first met. They had been friends until Theo decided to marry. As time went on, their friendship unraveled until a choice brought them back together. They had to learn to traits each other in order for them to survive together. I truly enjoyed visiting with other past characters and how well they help each other. My only complaint would be that I do wish that their story had a more deep dive like the other stories in the series. Overall I enjoyed the HEA.

This may be my new favorite Tracy Sumner book! I absolutely adored getting to know more about Theo and Dash and just loved that they dove right into marriage! :) Dash had me swooning and I love how strong Theo is as a character. The drama was minimal and didn't feel forced. I honestly can't wait to read Jasper's story!
Thank you for the early copy!

A charming story in the Duchess Society series.
We find a Duke who could make it in the publishing world if he gets the help of a young educated lady to help him out. Not only will he find one but soon he will be captured not only br her wisdom but beauty. They will fall for each other despite the obstacles.
A charming love story in this regency setting. A must read for the Duchess Society fans.

Two Scandals and a Scot is the fifth book in this series by Tracy Sumner. It’s hot, steamy and as another reviewer states, a whole lot of erotica. It could have been better, more substance to the plot and more character growth. All in all, I’ve enjoyed the book, and some of the dialogues/narrative made me laugh out loud.
Looking forward to the other books in the series.

Running from a marriage that is about to happen, Theo flees in a carriage that belongs to her friend Dash. Dash follows and helps her hide out at his country estate. Good looking rake Dash never plans to marry. Fed up with unfaithful men, Theo agrees. They find they have each experienced hardships growing up and become friends. When they are obligated to marry they agree to do so as friends however, they can not deny their mutual attraction. I received an ARC from NetGalley and WOLF Publishing for my honest review.
