Happy secret unraveling into her current life when she finds a corpse in the snow in the middle of the night. By adding a beautiful romantic story line throughout this story is romantic. I definitely recommend reading.

❄️ Plowed Over by Ellen Ann Callahan ❄️

Thank you to @netgalley for this ebook in exchange for an honest review. I didn’t realise this was a sequel when I requested it so missed out on the back story of how Happy ended up in WITSEC. Luckily there were enough recaps that I could keep up!

The second novel in the On The Wing series centres around Happy finding a dead body whilst out on her snow plow, the police are quick to rule it an accident but Happy is not so sure. Plenty of twists and turns along the path to the truth.

Happy was a troubled, determined and stubborn main character who I found myself rooting for. She deserves a happy ending, make sure to check it out and see if her dreams come true!

Lucy Prestipino has a new life, a new job, and a new look in the witness protection program. The U.S. Marshals Service has hidden her in a small town in the Allegheny Mountains of Western Maryland. Lucy, now using the name, Happy Holiday, is a snow plow driver. I loved the name of the snow plow, Mack the Knife.

One day, while plowing Happy runs into a dead body. She begins to investgate. This is the second book to feature Lucy/Happy. I haven't read the first, but I had no trouble with following the storyline and the arc of the character (how she got into the witness protection program). We get some romance with Happy and the state trooper, Jimmy. There is a good cast of supporting characters, most notably Happy's dog, Stepping. This is a quick and enjoyable read with a satisfying ending.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC. The review is my own.

Plowed Over On The Wing, by Ellen Ann Callahan, is a nail-biter of a novel with an inside look at being in witness protective custody.
Lucy Prestipino has seen some things that she hopes to never experience again. Now she's living in Maryland courtesy of the U.S. Witness Protection Program. Her handler is working hard to keep her safe. Though she's happy to be away from dangerous people, she still misses her home town and her friends.
Lucy has just started to like her new snow plowing job when she plows up a dead man. Enter her new friend Maryland State Trooper Jimmy Bittinger. Can he help keep her safe as she's running around the state trying to solve the dead man's mysterious death?

I almost didn’t read this book based on the title alone. I’m glad I stuck with my gut and read it anyway.

This story follows Happy Holiday, a woman in the witness protection program. Happy is anything but happy and misses her former life greatly. She is trying her best to embrace her new life as a snow plow operator. One night during a particularly cold, snowy night, she plows up more than she bargained for. As she try’s to unravel one mystery, the ghosts of her past just keep sneaking up on her. She has to decide if she is all in as Happy or she wants to come out of hiding and return to being her former self.

Happy is her name, although she really doesn't shine like her name would suggest. She has secrets that even she forgets about. (She accidentally gives her "wrong name" and I wonder how hard it is to actually start over in the witness protection.) Happy is living her best existence in her new life, after having her identity re-created. It seems to be a low-key, almost mundane situation, until she discovers a dead body while plowing snow. <-- the visual descriptions caught my attention. I'm a sucker for being sucked into a story from the get-go, and this did just that. Snagged my attention super easy and held it steady through the entire book. Gripping is the perfect description, at the risk of being overused.
The plot/premise is intriguing and the directions the story goes create a read so easy to enjoy,
The dialogue and conversation really keeps the story moving. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, but I'm finding a more detailed review would be riddled with spoilers.
There is a romance/sexual tension going on, and that added to the flow and while I don't read romance or seek it out, it was the perfect amount to make it enjoyable, interesting, and a bit sexy.
I'm really glad I had this ARC. Yes, there is a part one to this book, which I haven't read, which is also why I'm holding back as well. I can't wait to get a hold of the first book, and much more from this writer!

This review is of my own opinion. I want to thank the author and publisher for a chance to review this book.

To go into witness protection must be very difficult, to leave your family and loved ones behind and to remember your new identity.

The heroine in the story has it very rough but she came thru stronger for it.

I didn't realize this was just a title change. I had already read this book for review.
original review
Lucy was a bicycle messenger in a city. Next thing she knows she is in witness protection, has a new name and driving a snow plow. How awful when she plows up a dead body. She becomes investing in figuring out why he died. She is quite the character. She doesn't seem to think before she acts. Makes for an interesting story. I liked the book.

Wow, this one really exceeded my expectations. It was fantastic! It tells the story of Lucy Prestipino who is in witness Protection and drives over a dead body while out plowing one night. The mystery was really solid with plenty of red herrings along the way to take you off course. I think what really hooked me was the writing style, it flows perfectly, and the second thing is the great characters. Lucy/Happy is such a likable main character, you really want to see her succeed. The people around her are interesting and well-written. I really liked the WITSEC portion and found myself wanting to know more about Romero and that whole deal. I really hope that this author revisits these characters, I would love to see where they are headed next.

Mystery with layers and a surprising wist at the end. The title caught my attention on NetGalley. On NetGalley it does not show that its book#2. I am pleased to say I was not lost, it read like a first off to me so I was pleased. It seemed to take a couple of pages to jell, but than it was a fast twisty read, following the mystery, uncovering layers that were intriguing and thought provoking. Happy is in witness protection and she plows up a dead buddy. Then we go down the twisty road, meet the other characters and realize the depth Happy has. You go girl! Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts an opinions. #PlowedOver #onthewing#2 #EllenAnnCallahan #Paarkwellspublishingllc #BooksGoSocial #NetGalley

Lucy Prestipino has a new life, a new job, and a new look. She's in witness protection and is now Happy Holiday. People want her dead and she is hiding in a small town in Western Maryland.

She is adjusting to her new life when she revels a dead body whilst driving a snow plough through dangerous mountain roads.

What will happen to her now?

The story reveals insight into the kind of PTSD that someone in witness protection suffers and the feelings of isolation and fear that they will forever lose who they are. It is also a good mystery novel populated by some very interesting characters., including the main character who named her snowplow like a Minnesotan. The mystery swirls around the man whose body she discovered while plowing a mountain road during a snowstorm.
I requested and received an EARC from BooksGoSocial via NetGalley.

#PLOWEDOVERONTHEWING #NetGalley is a gripping mystery that will leave you gobsmacked at the end.
Happy Holiday is in the witness protection program and life if difficult for this amazing woman.
She's in recovery after battling a drug and alcohol addiction, she became involved with the wrong people and had to become a whole new person.
The only thing that keeps her happy is driving her snowplow, lovingly called Mack The Knife, with her canine companion Steppie by her side.
When Happy plows up a dead body, her life becomes a train wreck, and everything she cared about is ruined, leaving her to believe she's better off out of the program.

This is an amazing story, not quite the typical cozy mystery I enjoy, but it was definitely worth reading.
I love Happy, she's strong and determined, knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it.
I hope there's another book coming, I'd love to see what happens next for her.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Happy Holiday (aka Lucy Prestipino) and her dog Steppie, are now hiding out in Deep Creek, Maryland in the WITSEC program. She is not happy being “Happy” instead of Lucy and has to remind herself daily about her name. She tried to tell her handlers that she was not cut out for WITSEC, but they keep reminding her that it takes time. She has adjusted somewhat with the help of Trooper First Class James Bittinger (Jimmy) who knows about her past and has become her friend. Could he be more than a friend? Time will tell, but while Happy is out plowing snow for the town, her plow uncovers a body. She feels so terrible for the dead man even though she had nothing to do with his death. Was his death just a tragic accident? This was a humorous mystery with dialog that will make you laugh out loud as Happy fumbles her way through life and the WITSEC program. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
