Reading Kathryn Freeman books always put a smile on my face and Was It Good For You? is no exception. It's a sweet, funny and heartwarming romcom that has you rooting for the underdog, who in this case is a man who is perfect for Sophie if only she would look at him instead of at her spreadsheet.
I love spreadsheets! Possibly not as much as Sophie though. Sophie keeps track of her whole life on Excel and even scores her dates so she doesn't waste any time on the wrong man. It seems very clinical and emotionless to score a person based on a first date, although I can see the benefit of it as time is so precious.
Sophie thought her spreadsheet could never be wrong until she met Michael, who accidentally finds out his score and wants to show Sophie that there are more things to consider than the parameters she had scored him against. Although first impressions do count for a lot, it's actually quite sobering to see what happens when you scratch beneath the surface and find out more about a person.
It's so sweet watching Sophie and Michael's relationship grow and I raced through the chapters as I couldn't wait to see what their next date would be and what would happen after the ten dates. I loved the characters (both human and canine) and I loved the storyline - I loved everything about this fabulous romcom.
Fun, heartwarming and sweet, Was It Good For You? is a delightful novel. I'm always in my happy place when there's a Kathryn Freeman book on my kindle and I loved this one.
I received a digital ARC to read and review for the blog tour and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Sophie’s life is governed by her spreadsheets, her life is so full on that she needs these to feel in control., even to the point of scoring her dates. Disaster occurs when her spreadsheets are sent to all in her contacts and she has to delete the email document and do damage control. Hence the reason for dating Michael as she allows him to up his date score. Very well written story with Sophie learning so much about herself and growing to forgive herself as love develops, and Michael proves himself to be her perfect partner.

Another great book from this author. This book got me out of a reading slump, it was a wonderful read.
I really loved Michael and warmed up to Sophie by the end.

I love Kathryn Freeman books for a bit of lighthearted romantic comedy. This one was enjoyable but perhaps not my favourite of hers. The concept was a little far fetched and I didn’t find myself warming to Sophie as a character. Regardless it was an easy read.

When you need that pick me up, Kathryn will always deliver. I loved the easy going sweet romcom of this one. It was the perfect pallet cleaner

Kathryn Freeman does it again. She knows how to write the perfect romcom. You fall in to the story so hard you forget the real world around you and want nothing but the best for the main characters. Sophie is a character that frustrates the living daylights out of you but you also love to pieces. Super clever and well worth the read!

As a fan of spreadsheets I was rather interested to see just how much of Sophie's life she has on spreadsheet.
Unlike Sophie though I'd never try and use on for my love life, and certainly would never send the entire file to everyone in my contacts.
Even more especially not to the man, Michael she had just been on a bad blind date with, and only rated a 2.5 /10.
Michael in the aftermath challenges Sophie to trial the spreadsheet over the course of 10 dates with him to see if it really is reliable or not.
Definitely a bit of a slow burner but wow, once you get to know Michael especially, you can't help but fall for him. He's wonderful,
But whether Sophie;s head or heart will win out is another matter.
This was a highly enjoyable story that will have you laughing, but possibly also tearing up at one point. It's well written, and definitely has all the Kathryn Freeman's trademark humour and wonderful sexual chemistry.
A truly entertaining tale.
Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Sophie has spreadsheets for all aspects of her life . When a romance she thought would last goes awry, she writes a spreadsheet to show her if a romance will last. Unfortunately, Dr Michael scores badly after their first date and challenges her to 10 dates to show her her spreadsheet idea is rubbish. Funny and enthralling ,I could not wait to find out the ending .

What is the worst thing that could happen to someone who tries to control everything…? Sophie has a spreadsheet of everything what she eats what she does things about her job and the men she dates in it all gets a rating but when she accidentally send it to everyone Sophie has a start an apology tour and this is how she meets Mike’s mom and their puppy Fudge. Mike is over it before it even begins but when they agree to go on 10 dates… Thanks to his mom… They’re not happy about it but agreed to it. I loved this cute sweet romcom and thought those dates felt authentic and found this book to be really heartwarming and one I will definitely read again. It is a feel good read and a sweet romance. I want to thank the publisher Annette galley for my free art copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I just adored this book so much, it has the usual @kathryn.freeman_author sparkle and flavour - the result it completely stole my heart. With the perfect balance of love, humour and chemistry it's a heartwarming romance with beautifully written characters with emotional depth and personality. If you want a romance to get lost in that's easy to relate to then this is the one.

OBSESSED with this book. I totally adored it. It was SO heartwarming and adorable, but also spicy - a perfect combination. I just loved reading it and waiting on these two dough balls to fall in love 🥰
Sophie is such a likeable protagonist and Michael was just a chef’s kiss of a book boyfriend. I loved that she eventually saw him for who he truly was, it was a sweet journey for them both getting there.
What to expect:
- opposites attract
- bad first date and they agree to 10 dates to make up for it and test her scoring system
- slow burn
- city girl/country guy
- small town vibes
- he falls first
- medium spice

A fun, feel-good read!
I finished this book super quick, which is a good sign!
Although I'm not a fan of the whole miscommunication trope as it can be frustrating and unbelievable, there was enough good stuff to keep me reading:
Grumpy sunshine, opposites attract, tension, and humor.
Add to that some great characters and an easy reading style of writing equals a great read :-)

I adored this book!
Such a great premise, really well executed!
All the characters were likeable and the duel narrative really enhanced the story.
5*

This was an infinitely readable book. And that isn’t to minimise it - it is one of those books that is so easy to read that you don’t realise that the time has slipped past (and you’ve forgotten to feed the dog again).
Simmering tension, fabulous characters who skip off the page, and a romance you will want to happen - this book has it all.

I have been putting off reading this for so long and I'm not even sure why.. but now I hate myself because it was SOOOO GOOD!
The premise was fun and original and the characters were written exceptionally well. There was the perfect amount of depth that made Sophie & Michael not only likeable, but lovable. I wanted to bang their heads together but also completely loved seeing their relationship grow.
The book relies quite heavily on the miscommunication trope which I know isn't a fan favourite, but it's done with such adorable humour that I adored it. I loved that Sophie pushed Michael out of his comfort zone and that he was able to be the calm in her storm.
Main tropes:
• Opposites attract
• Grumpy x sunshine
• Miscommunication
• Past trauma
• Amazing side characters
• Sexual tension & angst
Thank you so much to @netgalley @harpercollinsuk @onemorechapterhc & @kathryn.freeman_author for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review

A laugh out loud romcom with plenty of emotion.
I loved the characters, especially those in Little Brook, Betty was obviously the star as grandparents usually are.
I loved the dates and the fact that they were both being pushed out of their normal lives for them.
Michael was an absolute sweetheart, definite book boyfriend from the off!
The ending was so cute, I only wish we had seen further into the future after that, too, in a bonus epilogue!

I always love a Kathryn Freeman book!
Now, I received the ARC for this so long ago but convinced myself that it wasn't gonna be the book for me, despite the amazing author.
I got to the point where I thought just read it, it's been long enough. I wish I'd read it sooner!
I love how Kathryn writes her characters, how even the superficial seeming ones have hidden depths and make you love them in a way that you didn't think you would. Betty was incredible, in fact, there was a great ensemble cast!
I'm now desperately waiting for the next Kathryn Freeman book to come out because it's just reminded me how much I love her writing!

Opposites truly attract in this captivating book that had me hooked from the very first page. The dynamic between the characters with contrasting personalities adds a delightful layer of tension and chemistry that's impossible to resist. The author masterfully weaves a compelling narrative, making it an absolute struggle to put the book down. Exploring the nuances of relationships and the unexpected connections that can form between seemingly incompatible individuals, this story is a true gem for anyone who loves a good dose of romantic tension and a plot that keeps you guessing. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a fun and engaging read!

A fun read! Sophie and Michaels stories. Sophie runs her life on spreadsheets which is sad but helped the reader to understand the character she was, Michael is a very busy Doctor who certainly doesn’t live his life on spreadsheets. On paper they were both poles apart , but both are slightly broken after past relationships.
Their story was fun as they both helped each other, great supporting characters and I , loved Betty ( Michaels Nan )
A heart warming book and a great holiday/ ,me time read
Highly Recommended
Thank you to Netgalley, Harper Collins One more Chapter and Kathryn Freeman for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review

I really enjoyed this his and hers romance. I love getting two perspectives on things as it's crazy how different they are, especially in this where the overriding message is not to judge a book by its cover. It also really added to the character development, for example at first main character Sophie’s obsession with spreadsheets seemed at odds with her spontaneous personality but later made total sense. Then, throw in a strong multi-generational supporting cast of friends, family, village cricket team and two adorable dogs, and you've got a another great romcom from this author.
