I’ve read all of this authors books, the last one I read I wasn’t sure on, so I was a little unsure going into this one. However, I need not have worried as this one was a much stronger and cleverly woven story.

Olivia is missing, a 22 year old girl, vanishes from an alleyway in Portishead, Julia is the detective in charge of finding her. Julia’s investigation is thrown a curve ball very early when she is targeted by a mystery man who blackmails her over a dark family secret. Julia is torn between her professionalism and protecting her daughter.

The story unravels and delivers a clever revelation that you don’t see coming at all quite on early on.

I can’t say too much about the story as it would give too much away. However, there are a number of clever twists which mean you are constantly left a little shocked and actually wonder if you have misread something previously. If you aren’t one for complex plots, then probably best leave this one, but if you can, it is definitely worth the effort of concentration.

McAllister’s mind must work in the most complex and mysterious ways, she’s quite big on detail too, which is probably down to her old career as a solicitor. Most of the time this is good, but sometimes it does slow things down.

The ending was clever and another twist, however, as in some of her other books, I do feel the ending last fifth of the book felt a little rushed.

All in all a solid good read. Thank you Netgalley for this advance free copy. I give this 4/5.

Not my favourite of her books, I didn't feel the story fine held up thr same scrutiny as her previous work and for me at keast, didn't have that depth that makes you question yourself... what would you have done? Which until now was a theme in her writing. Still an enjoyable read and a well crafted story line, but for me not one of her best.

This is the second book in a row that I’ve read by this author that was almost a DNF. I skim read the last 30 percent or so as I’d completely lost interest in the story line and didn’t care what happened. The story is about a corrupt police officer which isn’t a trope that I like. The main character was unlikable and frustrating and the plot felt flat and just a carbon copy of other books that I’ve read. I won’t be reading anything else by this author.

Another amazing thriller from Gillian. With all the drama thrills and twists I’ve grown tired of expect from Gillian. Where is Sadie, who is Olivia and what has Prudence Jones got to do with it all. Bent coppers, murder and missing girls.
Detective Julia has her own secrets but at heart loves her job and wants to solve everything. Until Olivia goes missing and her own family are threatened. Julia’s always been the one who never thought she would become a bent copper so will she now.
So many plot twists I could not put the book down.
I want to hear more about Julia and her desire to solve the cold cases

Another romp of a thriller from McAllister.

I love her books and find myself completely lost in them from the first page. The queen of the twists and turns. And JAMP was up there with her best,

Starting with an impossible question of a woman who vanishes into thin air, it makes the reader question how far they'd go to protect their own children.

With huge thanks to Netgalley and Penguin for the opportunity to read and review this incredible book

Another corker from the one and only Gillian McAllister. Love her books so much! This has me hooked from the first page right to the end! I love how she keeps your attention from the start with her complex characters. Fantastic

I great twisty psychological thriller form the brilliant Gillian McAllister.

A 22 year old missing woman, CCTV showing her last moments before going missing and a dead end alley. Where did she go? How did she vanish into thin air?

DCI Julia Day is in charge of the case but will she able to solve the mystery and find the missing woman? A puzzle to solve that just gets bigger and bigger the more in depth Julia goes. What is going to be the cost to Julia the further she investigates this missing person case?

This is a true twisty thriller from one of my favourite authors. You will find yourself hooked from the very start and just when you think you have everything worked out you just know a twist is coming!! Am looking forward to the next book from Gillian!!

There is a reason why police procedural storylines are so popular as they immediately present the reader with a mystery that needs solving. They do, however, become a little bit formulaic after a while and often lack originality. It’s rare, therefore, to find original plots like this one, which combines the ubiquitous mystery with a deliberate misdirection underpinned by a threat. This is original and compelling.

With thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an early copy.

I am usually a fan of Gillian McAlister, but this one was a bit of a letdown for me. I am not the biggest fan of police procedural, though. It's a solid read, and the twists I didn't see are coming, so I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

Thank you to Netgalley, Michael Jospeh, and Gillian McAlister for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Have had the pleasure of reading all of this author’s books and love her style of writing. This latest offering has such an amazing twist that I had to stop reading for a minute to take in what had just happened. Cleverly plotted and an enjoyable read. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was so unsure whether I’d like this simply because the cover didn’t draw me in (I know, I know, worst book worm). I needn’t have been though as I really loved it. It kept me hooked within reading the first chapter and I couldn’t have guessed the twists or outcome even if someone had paid me to. Best thriller I’ve read in a long time.

This one is a must-read for anyone who loves a gripping psychological thriller. McAllister's storytelling is superb. She expertly weaves together complex characters, family dynamics, and a suspenseful plot that kept me engaged from beginning to end.

I loved how the author explored the ways in which the disappearance of a loved one can tear a family apart, and the lengths people will go to in order to uncover the truth.

The writing style is crisp, clear, and puts the reader right in the middle of the action. The pacing is perfect, building suspense at just the right pace to keep me guessing until the very end.

The authors ability to craft believable, multifaceted characters made me feel like I was experiencing the story right alongside them.

Overall, Just Another Missing Person is a well written psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I recommend it to anyone looking for a captivating, page-turning mystery.

Absolutely wonderful, give yourself plenty of time as you will not want to stop reading. An excellent crime police story with more twists than you can handle. It’s fast, clever and totally believable and intense.
A must read.

More of a slow burn than Gillian’s previous runaway hit, but just as fabulous. The twist was a complete mic-drop moment. A must read.

Wow!! Another masterpiece from the queen of a gripping, unpredictable gem.I have no idea how a written review will do this justice. I will give it a go however.

This is dark, completely gripping and utterly brilliant. DCI Julia Day is called to missing person investigation of Olivia. However, our straight down the line, by the book officer is given a choice to frame an individual in order to protect a family member.

This really sets this one in motion. It becomes a focal point of this and I’ve really felt for Julia, as well as being intrigued about the person being framed.

This is a book that starts off slower than the author’s other books. However, as always- it’s not straightforward. There are a plethora of twists ahead, each which will shock you completely and leave you questioning where this was going.

The characters are brilliant. Julia is a complicated, unique individual and I couldn’t think of a better main protagonist. Additional characters each add their own unique spin to this one. There have been occasions I’ve questioned my own judgement. The multi perspective really gives the reader an insight into the different individuals.

I love that this has been quite complex. Each intricate thread is brought together masterfully and in a way that leaves you knowing how one character has impacted another.

Just Another Missing Person is a literary masterpiece and truly deserves all the praise. I am a huge fan of Gillian’s and I can honestly say, every book gets better and better. I have devoured this gem in just one afternoon. However, I’m now wishing I could experience this as a first read all over again.

This is a book which is a must for the TBR. Definitely recommend this book.

I am afraid this book was very confusing for me. The characters did not seem clearly defined and I had trouble working out who was who.

3.5 star read for me, its an enjoyable police procedural/crime thriller. I enjoyed the different POV's from the characters and through the plot twist were very engaging. I found the start to be a little slow for my liking but its soon picked up in the second half of the book. Over all enjoyable read

Another gripping read from @gillianmauthor , Just Another Missing Person follows detective Julia as she heads up a case trying to find 22 year old Olivia, who was last seen entering a dead-end alley way and didn’t come out.

Just as the case kicks off, a man armed with Julia’s very dangerous secret demands she plant evidence on an unsuspecting person. What will she do?

Reminiscent of recent works of Jack Jordan, Do No Harm and Conviction, giving a professional an ethical dilemma makes for riveting, page-turning drama. The added layer of mystery that is a woman seemingly disappearing into thin air sets up a promising read, and McAllister does not disappoint.

An easy read from the start, short, pacy chapters allow the reader to get absorbed in the case from the start.

Chapters alternate from different perspectives, and though we assume we know who is who, we are led into a false sense of security. McAllister plays with our assumptions and leads us into a magnificent twist that I for one did not see coming.

McAllister expertly layers minute details and crafts an intelligent plot that culminates in a jaw-dropping reveal and satisfying conclusion. Each character is flawed with depth, facing moral dilemmas in their individual way. Together each drama combines to create an addictive read that I flew through in two days! I particularly loved the dynamic and dialogue between Julia and daughter Genevieve; they sparked off each other and their closeness was evident even in short passages. I also felt the tension and lost love evidently between Julia and Art; they didn’t share too many interactions but their situation was perfectly framed and executed.

Altogether McAllister has once again written an entertaining and intelligent thriller which you won’t want to put down.
