Um. It was fine. But it felt choppy/not well transitioned from each scene. I was confused about the soul thing and her magic (or lack thereof). The aunts were great and Norah was such a strong character.
Devil on Her Shoulder was such a cute little read! The artwork was really detailed and Norah was a fun, likeable character. Her interactions with the devil had me laughing out loud and then having to explain to the people around me why I was laughing so hard. Seriously, that tickling bit had me cracking up! The story was cute and I would definitely pick up the next for more adventures with her and backpack boy. Solid 4 star read for me.
a witch who lacks magic meets the devil & together they try to find her missing aunt. in doing so, they meet a bunch of other witches and demons, which was interesting but also kind of confusing because the comic is incredibly fast-paced and even felt rushed. i loved the color scheme and the premise had a lot of potential, i just wish the comic was longer and could explore the plot in more depth.

Thank you to Netgalley and Europe Comics for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
And an ever bigger thank you to Cédric Mayen for not including an unnecessary romantic plotline between Norah and Lucifer, especially since every other book published these days seems to have one of those. Genuinely refreshing.
What "Devil on Her Shoulder" did have was a fun and exciting story about a young witch, Norah, who, despite lacking any supernatural abilities, goes on a search for her missing aunt, and in her quest, teams up with none other than Lucifer himself. Since the action is quite fast-paced and doesn't get muddled by unnecessary subplots, the novel is a real page-turner.
While I liked the story, it was the art style that I truly loved here - vibrant and imaginative, it is easily my favorite among the graphic novels I've read this year.
At only about 140 pages, this is rather on the short end, and I think it could have been expanded just a bit more to give more depth to certain characters, but overall, I had a great experience.
A touching story with funny and quite emotional moments near the end. The illustrations are beautiful and Norah is both a strong and sweet character. The devil tricky as it's supposed to be, although he has a little heart too.
This is one of the best graphic novels I've ever read.
What I love:
- Witches
- Gothic color scheme that perfectly gets the mood for the story
- The devil is so witty and lovable
- The illustration style is gorgeous and dreamy
- The story has a intriguing plot and a bit of mystery
The artwork alone makes this book a must buy. It is stunning. The story is good, but really fast paced. I found myself rereading a few passages because I got confused about how we got there. But as someone who rereads constantly I love that. I look forward to reading this many times and picking up something new with each reread.

I usually really like the comics and graphic novels Europe Comics publishes. Unfortunately, I felt like the artwork did not match the beautiful cover, and it's just not a style I personally like. The text was also pretty small and I struggled to read it. Even on a 10 inch tablet. I do hope others love and enjoy it even if it wasn't for me.

This was nice quick and cozy read about a witch that doesn't have any powers and finds an allie in the devil. I loved the art work in this comic as it had nice details and it was nice to see a lot of colours.
Norah the main character is a teen who has no magical powers whose aunt just happens to be one of the most powerful witches and has gone missing. Norah accidentally ends up with the devil as a companion in the hunt to save her aunt.
This felt like wicked fairytale with a funny, devilishly handsome mc. This was a lot of fun with twists and turns and fun extra little monstrous characters. I liked this world and the cross between the World and hell.

An interesting story about a young woman who has no power in a world in which everyone has power. She finds unlikely allies when she goes hunting for her witch aunt when her aunt disappears. It is a nicely illustrated graphic novel but not the best read for me because the story is sometimes hard to follow.
That was an interesting experience. At first, I wasn't really invested in the story, it seemed a little rushed, but I see why. A little bit further halfway through the book, it became pretty exciting. The turns and twists of the second half were soooo good. And the drawing style is also exquisite.
Devil on her Shoulder.
Norah is an unmagical teen in a school full of magic. Her biggest supporter, her aunt, has gone missing. Norah will go to hell (literally) and back in search of her aunt. She’ll have to survive an angry mob, keep her aunt’s familiar alive and befriend the devil himself.
I picked up Devil on her Shoulder for the art alone. The illustration is breathtaking! The aesthetic is watercolor/manhwa (Korean comics). Each panel is full of small details.
The story felt rushed. Was this an editing issue? Scenes jumped, and there were no transitions. The beginning lagged, and then the end went straight to a big reveal and solved it within a few panels. The story would have been better if it had been longer.
The concept was good. The author created side characters and a world that are fleshed out and can be built upon. Norah is an excellent main character, relatable and multilayered.
I will definitely be looking for other work by the writer and artist.
Such a magical and cozy read!
Norah's character development is perfection. Also, the overall plot was so good and lighthearted.
The aunts seemed kind of evil at first, but I grew to love them by the end.
The familiars were the best part of the story though. Their funny antics made the plot funny and enjoyable.

OMG what an amazing comic book it was. "Devil on Her Shoulder" tells a story of Norah who is a witch without magic. One day her beloved aunt dissapears and in order to find her she must make a deal with Lucifer himself.
I am absolutely in love with graphic side to this comic book. Everything is so lovely and detailed. It feels like a fairytale. The plot is pretty simple but characters are funny and it's really easy to like them. There are references to our reality that I really enjoyed. I had so much fun reading Norah's adventures and I will definitely keep my eye on this author.

*4.5 stars
This is a graphic novel that follows a girl, Norah, who’s aunt is the most powerful witch alive. Her aunt goes missing and Norah goes to look for her with the help of a surprising person.. The devil.
This was a lot of fun. The art style and character designs were what immediately grabbed my attention but the story really kept me interested. It was an adventure that had a lot of twists and turns that was really enjoyable to read about. I also thought the dynamic between Norah and the devil was interesting!
Overall, I had a really good time reading this.
Thanks to the author and the publisher for having this title as a "read now" on NetGalley.
First of all, I think this is the most beautiful color palette I have ever seen in a graphic novel. These colors just work amazingly together and that's captured my attention at first. The art in general is incredible, it's so detailed even in the wide shots there are so many little objects or details, I loved it!
I really had fun reading this graphic novel! But I wanted more, I feel like the ending was rushed and the big plot explanation didn't really make sense. It got me by surprise and I couldn't properly follow it.
So for those reasons I gave it a 3⭐️

Genre: Fantasy Graphic Novel
What I Liked: Devil On Her Shoulder is a hilarious graphic novel featuring nefarious demons, a witch society brimming with magic, and a deal with the devil. Literally. Nora, the teenage niece of the most powerful bruja alive, doesn’t have an ounce of magic in her. But, when her aunt disappears without a trace, she sets out to investigate, which leads her straight to the Devil himself. She accidentally interrupts a spell to summon him, and he becomes half-stuck, his torso on Earth, his legs in Hell. Nora, desperate to find her aunt, and Devil, annoyed beyond belief, begrudgingly team up to solve each other’s problems. This story is good fun that mixes Christianity afterlife beliefs and bruja magic into a unique fantasy of mesmerizing worlds, imaginative creatures, and characters with raving personalities, outfits, and abilities. Pick this up for a good laugh!
What I Didn’t Like: Nothing!
Who Would I Recommend This To: Teens who like comic books about witches, demons, magic, and who don’t get offended by different interpretations of Christian ideas of the afterlife.

This was cute, I enjoyed reading it. I didn't like the reference to a certain magical wizard series, but it was minor and it didn't take too much away from the story. The illustrations were really unique and the overall story was fun and an enjoyable read.
I love this book with a fiery passion was cute. I love the art style. The main character was absolutely adorable and fierce. The story was actually quite simple, but it worked in this manga. I loved her devotion to family and also her discovering her own abilities. I think the colour palette of this book is right down my alley and I will definitely be writing more in the series and all books that come out from this author in the future, there’s just something that made me binge through the whole entire book in like 15 minutes, so I just inhaled this book and it was a breath of fresh air. It was absolutely stunning
